  • "Immaculate cottage, in a wonderful village away from the hustle and bustle of Skipton."

Lots of walks from the doorstep and only a 20-30 minute walk into Skipton, or catch the bus! On this occasion our holiday was cut short by several days (nothing to do with the cottage) but we hope to return and enjoy it once again.

Luxury linens, top notch kitchen equipment, tasteful local art and a thoughtful welcome pack are among the treats that await you. Highly recommended.

  • "Top shelf property."

Everything you could ever need in a property. Decor was outstanding and we loved all the unique artwork and enjoyed the information provided to learn about artists. The goodie basket was fabulous as well as the dog treats and dog bowl. Really comfortable bed. Loved the shower and bathroom. Honestly, just a wonderful relaxing holiday retreat. Close to the pub with good food and nice people. Great Clean eating cafe right behind. Walking the dog was great right outside the door and up at the reservoir. Highly recommend. We loved every minute. Absolute treat to stay here. Great value for money for sure. And so close to Skipton where we enjoyed a nice French dinner but really all you need is at your doorstep in Embsay. Want to come back to ride the train and go on a canal cruise trip as the weather was not very nice when we were there although it was July, high winds and rainy and cool. It was okay just not great sightseeing weather.

The cottage is so well thought out with stylish decor and every comfort and convenience provided. It was perfectly clean , comfortable beds, fabulous shower and excellent quality throughout .Furnished with a mix of modern and traditional it is very relaxing , the owners should be very proud. We visited the local artist who supplied some art for the cottage and bought our own pieces. No4 has a fabulous location just minutes from wonderful Skipton in the car . Embsay is a delightful community with two great pubs (Cavendish best for food quality) a small village shop and of course is the location for the Embsay to Bolton Abbey steam train which is an absolute must but ensure you plan in a visit to the Abbey. Embsay is a great base for touring the Dales and accessing the amazing walking that Yorkshire We did not want to leave !!!

  • "Absolutely fantastic cottage cosy and spotless, decor tasteful and welcoming felt like a home away from home, the welcome basket a delightful surprise, local biscuits, crisps even a nice bottle of red wine, hot chocolate and coffee pods for the tassimo coffee machine, what a lovely touch."

There should have been 3 of us and a fury friend on this trip, but unfortunately our daughter and the dog owner wasn’t well, so just my husband and myself in the end. Our Niece and her family live a few doors down on Skipton Road so the trip was to see in the new year with them at her house and the location was perfect 2 min walk, We love Embsay visiting a couple of times a year, so we’ll definitely be back to No4.if it’s available we loved it. A little tip for the owner and this is absolutely not a complaint, I would have massages them directly but couldn’t find any contact details for them sorry, we found the mattress on the kingsize bed a bit firm for our taste, maybe a mattress topper or even a spare quilt to lie on, stowed in the single bedroom large cupboard would be helpful for delicate souls like ourselves ;-) Hopefully see you soon no4 Embsay Clare and Stuart

Hello Clare, Thank you so very much for the lovely feedback! We are very glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the suggestion regarding the mattress topper, we will certainly look into it. Kind regards Nadine Property Owner
