  • "The cottage was superb, very comfortable, high quality furniture and fittings, fully equipped kitchen."

The welcome pack and card were very thoughtful. Location is perfect, very peaceful with lovely views. Leanne was really helpful and it was lovely to meet her. We will definitely go back there.

Great to hear you found Cedar Cottage comfortable and enjoyed the views. It was lovely to meet you both and we look forward to welcoming you back. Kind regards, Adam & Leanne Property Owner

  • "Wow - what can I say!"

We stayed in the wonderful Cedar and it was home from home - everything was spotless and comfortable and we went into relax mode as soon as we arrived. The information folder was brilliant and we used this to pretty much guide our week! What a wonderful place

  • "We had a lovely stay here at Cedar cottage, we will definitely be returning."

The cottages are in a beautiful location with stunning views of the Scottish mountains. The surrounding fields were closed to dogs (lambing season) but just a short drive into the local towns we found plenty of walks to explore. The owners provided handy information on the local amenities which was very helpful. The outdoor area for our dog was excellent for him to play ball. The cedar property has a shared porch area which meant our dog was barking at any noise, so we would stay in another cottage on the property in future. The cottage itself was wonderful, nicely decorated, an excellent place to relax in front of the log fire after a long day of hiking.

So lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay here at Highland Holiday Cottages and the surrounding area, great to hear that Chester loved it too. We look forward to welcoming you all back again in the future and thank you for taking the time to leave us such positive feedback. Kind regards, Adam & Leanne Property Owner

  • "Two very minor criticisms: The TV was difficult to see and control."

Perhaps a list of channels could be produced? The shower panel was not very convenient for turning the shower on or for preventing splashes on the floor. Our debate at home for our own shower came down on the side of a shower curtain.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. Sorry you found the TV difficult to see and control. With regards the glass shower panel, we find the glass screens more hygienic as the shower curtains end up smelling if they are not left to dry properly and there is nothing worse than a smelly shower curtain. The glass shower screens are also easier to clean and dry between change overs so the new guests arrive to a nice clean glass shower screen rather than a soggy shower curtain. • "I have to admit that my heart sank when I walked in to a lot of do and don'ts rules but by the end of the week, I truly appreciated the quality and standards of this property and that they are anxious that everyone who stays gets to enjoy these at their best."

The property is very comfortable, the bed is just lovely, fluffy luxurious towels and lots of little things make this small property work. The kitchen area is small but ingeniously worked out so everything seems to be there. Not a lot of crockery, but then there would be no space for your groceries. There is plenty of parking and I was impressed with the refuse area which was so clearly organised. The gardens and scenery are beautiful, we even got to see the Northern Lights one evening and a little red squirrel another day. In spite of being a complex of properties, it was quiet and well laid out. I would definitely recommend this property and would be happy to visit again. Nearby is Rothiemurchus and lots of lovely walks and activities. We even hired the Aviemore dog park for an hour so the dog could have a try of the agility items. Our dog loved this holiday but is now home sulking like I've never seen before!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We are so pleased that you appreciated the quality and standards of our cottages. We work hard to make sure every guest has the best experience possible. Great to hear you experienced the Northern Lights, that evening they were the best by far in a long time. Lovely to hear your dog loved the holiday too. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards, Adam & Leanne Property Owner

  • "Cedar Cottage was an absolute delight to stay in."

We found the position of Cedar to be really good because you had the views of the mountains in the glen, but also the pond. We have never stayed in a self catering property that was this clean upon arrival. The bed was comfy and so was the sofa. We felt we had a good level of privacy too, despite being amongst seven other cottages. Noise was not an issue. In fact, the only noise you would hear would be the sound of a Curlew or an Oystercatcher her or an Owl. We saw many red squirrels. In fact, the most red squirrels we have ever seen. The enclosed paddock behind 3 of the lodges was an absolutely awesome addition when you have a dog. This allowed for our dog to play safely with other dogs, socialise with the dogs, at the same time whilst we relaxed. But you do also have your own section of garden that is fully enclosed and private. We felt the lodge was mostly well equipped in the kitchen. We would suggest adding a mixing bowl for those that want to bake. And a yorkshire pudding tray of course. They do provide lovely scottish made toiletries and upon arrival, you receive a really lovely welcome pack. The walk down to the falls is lovely. There is a lot to do locally but bear in mind, despite being on the A9 road, you are isolated to some degree. We arranged for a Tesco delivery on the following day and we stocked up on fuel. The owners are really friendly here and helpful and always available on hand. Places we would suggest visiting are Pattack Falls, Cairn Gorm, Green loch, Creag Meagaidh, Aberfeldy, Blair Atholl etc. Aviemore is very dog friendly. We would visit again for sure. And we would actually choose to stay in Cedar again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Thank you so much for leaving us such a positive review. It was lovely meeting you and seeing your dog playing so happily with the other guests' dogs in the walled garden. So pleased you loved Cedar Cottage so much and got to see (and hear) so much of the wildlife here. We look forward to welcoming you back hopefully sometime in the future. • "A wonderful place to stay with everything you could wish to have at hand."

The cottage was by far the cleanest and best equipped I have had the pleasure to stay in; I am a keen amateur chef and everything was in the kitchen that I could need and all spotlessly clean too! The surrounding area was perfect for taking the dogs out for a walk and the local amenities are excellent (the best Indian food I have tasted in years). The welcome pack was appreciated and added to the overall impression of the cottage which was first class I doubt my pocket would stretch to the summer rates for this property but it is very affordable to stay in the winter which gives you the experience of staying in classy place Thank you very much. Paul,Eileen and the Dogs.

Hi Paul, Eileen and both your dogs. Thank you so much for the fantastic review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay here so much.
