  • "We are sorry to say we were a bit disappointed, especially after reading all the good reviews from other people."

Floor and kitchen were dirty. Dog hair could be seen in the corners. The kitchen was in theory well equipped, but with random, old, and not so clean utensils. There were only mobile oil heater radiators available. The chimney in one of the bedrooms was awaiting maintenance, and unfortunately that makes the room smell of dump. I’m sorry to say but I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • "We enjoyed our break at the cottage although we did raise a question the day after we arrived regarding the bad TV signal and never received a reply from Sykes or the owners."

It should also be known that parking in the narrow street can present a problem as some residents appear to feel that there are certain spaces that are really theirs. It can be very difficult when you are trying to unload and load your car. Cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Lots of the basics you require are provided in the kitchen.

  • "We had a lovely 4 night stay at 3 Dunrobin Street."

We had previously booked an alternative cottage for the week before which was cancelled at short notice so we booked here with Sykes for the following week and the weather was glorious! The cottage had everything we could have needed for our stay which we found spacious and comfortable. We had one issue with getting a signal for terrestrial tv channels however streaming apps were available which we made use of. It was our first visit to Tain and we’re delighted at how close all amenities are. Thank you for providing such a cosy and comfortable stay

Thank you for your lovely comments, I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, had everything you could possibly need in the kitchen."

Nice enclosed garden perfect for the dog, could perhaps do with a little tidy up. Great base for walking into the village or exploring further afield. Close to pub and shops etc. Would recommend

  • "A much nicer house than we expected."

Its very well equipped, especially for a family, with plenty of games, books and kitchen equipment. There is a herbs and spices rack which means you dont need to bring the essentials. I was very happy. Only change I would make is the rules - wasnt clear if we needed to strip the beds etc. We cleaned up after ourselves but would be good to have a clearer standard. Would reccomend.

Thank you for your lovely comments. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. There is no need to strip the beds, we are more than happy to take care of this. Property Owner

  • "We stayed the second week of our three weeks in Scotland in 3 Dunrobin Street."

This cottage offers great value for money. Positive points are that it is clean. Good mattresses. Generally good facilities. Good use of space. Small negative is that it gets very warm upstairs. In the kitchen for example a wok or extra frying pan would be welcome.

It was clean and very welcoming. I loved the upstairs lounge area with the velux windows with all the light pouring in. Thank you for the milk, butter and cheese etc. I would love to return again.

Only the two of us plus dog- so more than ample space- if you’re tall- just watch your head coming down the stairs- learned to duck after a few bumps!

Thanks for your lovely comments, glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope your head has recovered. Property Owner

  • "3 Dunrobin Street is a great property."

Nice, modern decor and very comfortable. Great facilities and handy for town and seaside walks. Only issue(not for us) is that bathroom/shower upstairs, so, wouldn’t be suitable for people with reduced mobility. Thans for a lovey break and the delicious local cheese, milk and butter

Thank you for your lovely comments, so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely old fisherman's cottage with lots of character, cosy, comfy and well stocked, very handy for all that Tain has to offer."

There was a problem with opening the front door, we could see various screws had been removed previously and the key cover; it is easy to open from outside but we all struggled with opening from inside. Also we couldn't find any information about what we could put in the recycling, which does differ from place to place. However, these minor niggles apart, we really enjoyed our stay. The local cheese plus breakfast rolls, milk and delicious butter you provided were most welcome. I would definitely recommend a stay in this house.

  • "Lovely little property, provided a perfect base for us whilst visiting the area."

It was clean, bright and comfortable with lots of extras that made it feel like a home from home. The owners left a lovely welcome pack of rolls, milk and local butter and cheese which was such a lovely touch. The kitchen was so well stocked opening straight into the garden. Would definitely stay again :0)
