"A comfortable, home from home cottage, ideally situated to visit attractions in this beautiful part of Northumbria."
Very quiet and local walks to nature reserve just outside door and road access easy to visit both NT properties and coast. Everything we needed at cottage, even a welcome pack which was a lovely thought after a long journey. We would definitely return.

"My only reservation is that the sofa and easy chair are very low."
Anyone with arthritic back and knees, like me, could struggle to get up from them. Other than that, lovely cottage and location.
-
"A delightful base for both walking in the Cheviots and visiting Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and the Farne Islands."
The cottage feels like a home, and is generously provided with OS maps, walking guides and DVD's. We wished we had booked for 2 weeks rather than one.

"Our only problem was the key safe was rather high up on the wall so I couldn’t see the numbers."
Fortunately another person much taller than me was passing and he opened it for me. I can’t see any reason why it had to be so high up the wall. Otherwise the property was excellent.

"Excellent property, everything worked, clean, comfortable and warm without the need for the log burner."

-

The living area is bigger than the pictures make out.

"Swallow Cottage was the perfect location for a short break for the two of us, comfortable and well-appointed with easy access to local walking routes and interesting places to visit."
I'm sure we will be back!

"We had a fantastic week in this cosy, little cottage."
There are lots of places to walk directly from the cottage with our favourite being the walk to the cafe in Ingram! It is also well placed for a short drive to castles, the beach and Holy Island. The cottage itself is compact but had everything we needed and was easy to find. It was a bonus to discover a nature reserve on the doorstep when we first arrived, a lovely place to walk after a long car journey.

"Thankyou for sharing your cosy little cottage with us."
Fabulous accommodation with everything we could possibly need. Thankyou also for the lovely welcome goodies, much appreciated. So much to see and do around here without travelling more than 30 minutes. Highlights for us included Rothbury and the Simonside Hills, a visit to Bamburgh and the Castle, a walk from Ingram up to Linhope Spout (nice cafe in Ingram too), Alnwick and Chillingham Castles, and Holy Island. Would definitely return!

"The cottage is delightful, well equipped and very comfortable."
We absolutely loved our stay, not far from Cheddar but very much in the countryside. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the little walks in the owners meadow, it was perfect and we’d love to come back.

"This is a lovely cottage as a base for exploring Northumberland, with some nice walks straight from the door."
I highly recommend it to any single person or couple who would like to explore Northumberland. This was my first visit in winter and I did worry about how warm it would be, but I needn't have, it was nice and cozy inside, despite sub zero temperatures outside. The Branton lakes were frozen over, which looked beautiful, only a few hundred yards from the house.
