  • "Lovely place to stay, beach is wild and windy at times but so refreshing."

  • "We had a lovely dog chew left in the made childrens bed upon arrival - i can supply a photo!"

Some corners in the living room could do with more TLC in terms of cleaning spider webs, dust, etc. Some wear of carpets and wall bumps/scrapes are quite pronounced (we have stayed here numerous times over the last few years so i know the property very well. Front door showing wear/leakingWe also had the delight of the neighbours patio beign constructed and noise and dust from this (one washing hung out was moved indoors). Fridge wasnt overly cool, not many glasses for use, or large cups/mugs. Expensive listing compared to recent times - Sykes takeover of NCCC?!

Dear Mr Renton. I am sorry to see that there were a number of problems with the cottage during your recent stay. I hope that they did not detract too much from your holiday overall I will raise the issue of the dog toy with Sykes - it must have been very unpleasant to find - we only take dogs in the basis that they remain downstairs, and this should also have been picked up in cleaning - so again I apologise for this. I have asked our housekeeper to put out some extra glasses etc - we keep spares as there are losses through the season, so if you were to stay again you are very welcome to contact us to request more of anything if you are finding shortages, and if you feel that the cleanliness is not what you would expect when you arrive. I have also passed on your comments regarding the cleaning of corners. We try to address maintenance issues over the winter and the fridge and carpets are on my list of items to replace so we are hoping to be able to do this at the end of the season. I hope you were warned of the work being carried out next door prior to your visit - unfortunately it was outside of our control and it has obviously been disruptive for several guests this year but thankfully it has now been completed. Again I apologise if this marred your holiday. I will take on board you comment on pricing - the new system is very complicated so I will be checking at the end of the season to to see if it is working for us and our guests. I hope this experience has not deterred you from staying in Alnmouth in the future. Best wishes, Joy Property Owner

  • "The property would have been perfect but for: 1."

Work at No 5 made it impossible to enjoy the sunshine in the patio 2. The waste bin was full when we arrived. Unable to take the bin behind No 5 to join the other bins. We were recommended to take the bin out to the lane at the back. I cut two huge 1/2 inch thick briers which and one of the workmen very kindly took the bin out for us. The bin was not collected on Thursday. Contacted Jill on one of your supplied numbers and she arranged for the owner to contact the council. A special uplift was made - thank you Jill. 3. We met the cleaning team as we were leaving at 10am on Friday. Jill took photographs of the mess in the back. 4. The in house EE wifi varied from weak to ok. We have been regular visitors to Alnmouth over the last 30 years. This experience will not put us off the town which is wonderful but we will be asking for assurances that the above problems are not waiting for us when we ARRIVE NEXT TIME.

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location."

The owner was very responsive and helpful when we had a minor issue and it was sorted out straight away. Everything was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was great to find games and beach toys provided. Our 4 year old had a fabulous time and so did we!

  • "The only point I would make is housekeeping dirty sheet on main bed but rang the number given and was rectified quickly."

General cleaning could be improved lots of dust not immediately spotted but round the television and microwave lots of dust, kitchen bin had spills down the front, otherwise a lovely property and would return.

  • "Fabulous cottage thank you."

Mattress on bottom bunk could do with replacing or at least a mattress topper, as you can feel the springs & it’s rather uncomfortable! Otherwise very comfortable cottage and had everything we needed

  • "Very good property in a very convenient location - our second time staying there this year."

Unfortunately we both suffered back ache each morning - perhaps the mattress on the double bed needs replacing. Otherwise a most enjoyable stay once again.

  • "Cheshill is in a fantastic location and convenient for beach, pubs and hostelry!"

We were five male adults (golf) which is tight. Under-floor heating really nice and very comfortable downstairs. Good bathroom and having the downstairs loo and outside for BBQ made for a great atmosphere for our part.
