  • "Would highly recommend."

Only one small downside. The offstreet parking would struggle to accommodate a large SUV or estate car.

  • "Please note that it was my son who chose the property for us to stay in."

A lovely location in terms of the village and great walks. Loved the kitchen facilities which were very well stocked for home cooking. Great wifi. Found some parts of some toys (Lego and some game cards) under one of the settees on the ground floor when looking for an item of ours that had rolled under it. Too many flights of steps for those with a young baby. Not sure about some of the art (painted wooden boards and shed door). House located in a backwater with parking a nightmare to get in and out of. Had a neighbour requesting that we move our parked car from the allocated space on the day of departure at 9.30am so that they could get their own car out which was not great when trying to pack up and go. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

So nice to find rental property with personality in the decor and a bit of soul. Loved the beautiful garden and fabulous views too. We'll be back for sure.

  • "The property had not been cleaned when we arrived at 4."

30 pm. The bedding from the previous guests was still in the bathrooms and it was obvious that the house needed a thorough clean. So the beginning of our holiday was spent on the phone to the local office trying to find cleaners at short notice on a Saturday evening. Thankfully two really lovely people turned up to change the beds and to give the place a very quick clean, while our family had to sit in the garden out of their way to let them get on with it. Not a great start and despite the best intentions of the cleaners we realised that the property really needed a deep clean - the furniture was dusty, there were fluff balls under furniture and around the floors and the kitchen was just generally grubby. The property itself was good and in a great location, but there was an unloved feeling to the house, mattresses' were hard, sofas and chairs uncomfortable and not adequate for the number of guests (which is really important when the weather isn't great), very poor/worn carpet on the stairs and no rugs on any of the wooden floors, and a radio or blue tooth speaker would be really handy. We were not contacted again by the local office - I thought they may be in touch to find out if everything was ok - just as a courtesy really following the inauspicious start. Quite disappointed considering the cost of rental.

  • "The house was in such a fantastic location and we all fell in love with it, it was great to have all the amenities so close by ."

I just sat with my camera looking out over the estuary and saw an incredible array of bird life from from waders, finches, songbirds , kestrels to a barn owl . The garden was beautiful and all the facilities were excellent . The only problem we had was getting to the parking space as our car is quite wide and the lane is extremely narrow but we just parked on the road instead . The other small problem was the neighbour when we were barbecuing She didn’t like listening to the gypsy kings and Dean Martin summertime music but the old sourpuss didn’t spoil it for us. We really had a great time .

  • "The cottage is fabulous."

The owners clearly love it and have furnished it with a lot of thought and style. The views are stunning. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything was in good working order. The only issue I had, which was purely personal was the firmness of the mattress on the double bed. It was too firm for me. Otherwise, we had a really enjoyable stay. The parking place is really tight, which the owners had hi-lighted, and meant that we tended to park on the road for ease.

We had a wonderful stay in estuary View. Slightly surprised to find no welcome pack, not even a pint of milk. This house is so well equipped and in good order. Thank you so much.

The comfort, the views, was just top notch. It’s a long time since we have stayed anywhere for two weeks, but I can honestly say we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much. We will be back

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in Alnmouth - a beautiful little town and fabulous beach."

Estuary view was really well equipped, with comfortable beds and lots of places to relax and hide away if you needed to (including in the amazing garden with views across the estuary). The kitchen and utensils could have been cleaner and getting from the road to the parking space was especially tortuous, which should probably be highlighted in the description as it really doesn't suit larger cars. Aside from that though, we had a very enjoyable holiday.

  • "The only reason I didn't give five stars for the accuracy of listing was that I think perhaps more could be said about just how difficult it is to access the parking space."

We were very glad we came in our car rather than our friend's ( who we were sharing with) much larger car. But apart from that the house was a delight. Everything we needed was provided, the views and the garden were glorious and the house full of interest and colour. It was immaculate and extremely comfortable. We would return in a heartbeat. Our only other suggestion was that we would have loved the table by the window to have leaves so it could seat four . It would be lovely to eat there.

  • "We love the house & hope to return."

Quirky & comfortable. Really well equipped. Fantastic views & location. Only thing - we arrived late after work in the dark & the directions to find it on Lovaine Terrace are terrible - we got to number 4 & thought we'd booked somewhere that didn't exist - really stressful arrival! Better directions & better information about the parking are needed before arrival please. Also some information between website & cottage is out of date. But it was a lovely holiday in a lovely place, thank you to the owners for the use of their beautiful house.

Eeek, I'm completely mortified to hear about the difficulty finding us - I am so sorry! Yes, of course we'll work with the agency and make sure there are better directions to guests in future - it's not something we do ourselves, so I'd never even thought about it before. Thank you for flagging it up! I have to say you were a joy to clean up from afterwards - our cleaning ladies both said the place was left spotless. Thank you so much for being a lovely visitor - I hope we'll meet you on Alnmouth beach one day! Best wishes, Hellen Property Owner
