  • "Property lovely, close to beach and has everything you need."

Really happy. I really struggled with parking though, some days i had to do 5 or 6 laps of the village to find a space, not ideal with 3 children in tow

  • "The cottage was delightful, it had everything we needed and was close to the beach."

Gorgeous little village with lovely places to eat and drink .The garden was just across the little road which I must have missed when reading the description , it was fine only used for the dog . The kitchen was well equipped apart from it could do with a cheese grater . My mum was is the little bedroom and found the mattress very uncomfortable, probably ready for a new one . Apart from our few niggles the cottage was lovely and would definitely stay again .

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grebe cottage and would definitely book it again."

Above average standard of accommodation where the owners have cleverly utilised the space within this period cottage. Grebe cottage was very comfortable and clean with cosy atmosphere. Set in an ideal position for all of Alnmouths facilities.

  • "Generally a beautiful quiet place to stay, close to the wonderful beach and countryside walks."

Smart decor with good kitchen utensils/ faculties. Alnmouth has all we need for a super relaxing holiday. We loved the place, small negative, was the shared garden was across the road. We thought the property was straight onto garden

  • "We loved the house and will probably be back for a winter stay."

We struggled with the lack of light coming in. I would recommend the house but with a caveat about the light, view of bins from all the windows and difficulty parking. We found the facilities in the house to be spot on. We would have benefited from a cheese grater and a broom (we brought in a lot of sand! Sorry!) The cold water pressure in the bathroom is rubbish. I re-pressurised your boiler as it sounded like a moped starting up whenever it fired! The beds were super comfy!

There were 4 of us staying over a long weekend. We had a wonderful time. It suited our needs! Thank you.

  • "Lovely cosy feel and so nice to not have notices everywhere."

Beautifully decorated and gorgeous art work; very well equipped kitchen. Would come back in a heartbeat. The only limitations to the cottage are ones you can do little about but as we were under occupying the small bathroom and slightly cramped sitting room were no problem. The shower is very low but again so is the ceiling- water could be hotter though. We had selected for a garden as we bought a small dog with us but as the garden was not attached it was unsuitable but we may have missed that in the listing. Instructions said parking in the Main Street but that’s not really true as it’s limited in time and like gold dust even in April. That’s the charm of Alnmouth.

  • "Not for the elderly, shiny floors ans slippery mats don’t work, I took a good tumble and cut my leg on the bed."

No one’s fault but something you might bear in mind. There were only two of us stayed in the end not sure it’s big enough for five. On the plus side, it was the cleanest most well appointed cottage we have stayed in.

  • "Perfect location - Alnmouth is a lovely village with all that you need - beautiful sandy beach with lots of walks from the cottage doorstep, village store stocking all the essentials and treats, numerous eateries, and interesting architecture."

The cottage was clean, cosy and warm. No problems finding parking spaces (in March). Lots to do within easy reach. Hope to return.

  • "Lovely cottage in a very nice position in Alnmouth."

Very comfortable and cosy and the property met the description. Very clean on arrival. Just a few areas that I would suggest for fairness and improvement really. I think it has been mentioned before in previous feedback, but three logs and sticks described as a starter fire pack is not on really especially for winter lets. Only one loo role on arrival for a cottage that sleeps 5 No proper kitchen cloths and a very limited supply of washing up liquid. I am sorry but the cottage is not cheap and you would expect more basic essentials being provided. I would suggest new customers to be aware of this prior to arrival and come prepared. Also for those people not familiar with the Nest Heating system it was tricky to figure out. There was no instructions for this in the cottage information. I think they must have gone missing as the information stated that they should be included. Therefore downstairs cold but small bedroom roasting.

  • "Grebe Cottage itself was excellent, clean and extremely cosy."

The provision of some wood would have been nice for the first night as we arrived after shop hours. There were some sticks and 3 logs but not enough for the night. Some of the shopkeepers need a course in customer relations, one couldn’t manage a good morning, whilst another questioned why we asking for mince pies on the 29th of November as it was not Christmas yet. Whilst some locals were pleasant it was evident that others had no time or patience for visitors.
