  • "What would of been good is a dishwasher and apart from that not a bad holiday home might be returning at a future date"

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback . I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday and might be returning. Unfortunately there isn’t space for a dishwasher but I can say I really enjoy the view from the window of the countryside and Aln estuary as I’m washing up which more than makes up for the lack of dishwasher! Take care, all good wishes Heather Property Owner

  • "Everything promised was present and the property was comfortable with good facilities."

However, frying pan was very greasy and saucepan soiled. Vacuum cleaner had not been emptied (for months by the look of it!). We did know beforehand but parking is a nightmare is Alnmouth and we will not return to stay there for that reason alone. Our son was so frustrated at not finding a parking place that he moved to an AIRB&B in Alnwick on day 2.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I’m pleased you found the cottage comfortable with good facilities. We had visited the month previously and cleaned the vacuum cleaner and washed all the filters. As we do regularly. We’re sorry you found the vacuum cleaner and pans needing attention and will follow this up with the cleaning service. I am sorry for your son’s frustration and hope you were still able to enjoy your holiday. All good wishes Heather Property Owner

  • "We have stayed here before and love it."

Right at the heart of the village and next doorto our favourite pub. The fire alarm needed replacing whilst we were there - a man came on Thursday and took the old one away saying he would return the following day with a replacement but it had not happened by the time we left on Saturday - hope this gets sorted...

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback . We’re so glad you enjoyed your holiday. The smoke alarms are sorted and in situ! All good wishes Heather Property Owner

  • "Lovely cosy cottage & ideally located for beach trips."

Managed to find plenty of parking around the village.

  • "Poor information about lack of on street parking would have been a real disappointment for less mobile guests."

However the beauty of the surrounding area and other locations made up for the initial annoyance.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We have now added more information to the listing, adding that there is no parking with the cottage, which is at the end of a narrow road, 2 minutes walk from the main road. Neighbours are generally happy for a car to be driven down for loading and unloading if this is something you choose to do. Car parking is at a premium in Alnmouth as it becomes more popular and in the warmer months. We have recently applied for a parking permit but unfortunately the cottage does not qualify. I’m glad the area’s natural beauty made up in some way for your initial annoyance , all good wishes Heather Property Owner

  • "The holiday property was fine, but we were not impressed with Sykes Cottages Customer Service."

We rang on the Monday (20th May) to ask how to get the central heating and heated towel rail working; we were put on hold while (we were told) the assistant tried to contact Northumbria Coast and Country Cottages. However we held on for 15 minutes (at the very expensive mobile phone rate) but then gave up as your assistant had still not got back to us. (I would have thought it was standard procedure to come back to us after a minute or two to update us on progress, but apparently not so at Sykes Cottages!) The next day we discovered that Northumbria Coast and Country Cottages was just round the corner from our cottage in Alnmouth: surely your assistant could have told us this on the Monday? We then popped in to Northumbria’s office, and their staff were very helpful and sorted it; however the gentleman we spoke to told us that Sykes Cottages had not rung them till the Tuesday, so goodness knows what your assistant was doing during the quarter of an hour I was kept hanging on on the Monday! IT REALLY IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am sorry you did not get the help you asked for sooner. The cottage is fully managed for us by Sykes. Unfortunately the hive app had a technical issue which we sorted as soon as we could . I’m glad the staff at Northumbria coast and cottages were helpful and able to show you how to manually override the hive and temporarily sort out the problem until we could. I will make clear where their offices are in house notes, adding that to the emergency help number. This may help future visitors. Thank you again. All good wishes Heather Property Owner

  • "Fabulous accommodation providing everything possible to set us up for a comfortable holiday."

The cottage is in the ideal location with great views and easy access to the amenities in Alnmouth and the surrounding area. Just the place to relax, to enjoy great hospitality in the local pubs and to exercise ourselves and the dog on the many expanses of beaches along the coast. Absolutely first class. Thank you

What a lovely review, thank you so much . We’re so glad you enjoyed the cottage and your holiday in Alnmouth. We’re looking forward to getting back there ourselves soon ! All good wishes Heather. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay in RBC."

We enjoyed the upstairs living room with the estuary views. The house is well enough equipped. We slept well. Alnmouth is a great base to explore the beautiful Northumberland coast. The house notes could have been more helpful re parking. We opted for the grassy verge on the road into the village from the bridge. Also the photo of the front entrance is dated which was a little confusing.

Thank you for review of Riverbank cottage. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you also for your feedback about parking in the village , I will put more information in the house notes when we next visit. Updated photographs are due shortly- we’re waiting for it to stop raining! thanks again for the review , it helps us to keep improving. All good wishes Heather Property Owner
