  • "Ŵe have stayed at many properties both in Amble and elsewhere."

This is best by far. We will definitely be booking again. The property is beautifully presented and has every need catered for. The cleanliness was second to none. We left our dogs lead at the property, the property owner made sure it was returned to us at no cost to us. Exceptional service. The little things make a big difference.

Thank you for your lovely review, we take great pride in our cottage and it is always very reassuring to hear that our guests have enjoyed a great holiday experience. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Amble. Property Owner

  • "Amble is the friendliest place to holiday."

It was so nice to have so many dog friendly cafes and shops with doggie treats offered to our pooch. The cottage is in a lovely quiet residential street. It is very comfortable and very clean. There were plenty of clean towels for our use which we really appreciated. The cottage was very warm and welcoming after a brisk seaside walk. All in all a fabulous stay and we recommend both Amble and 55 wellwood street cottage for a holiday.

Thank you so much for your review, I could not agree more Amble is a fantastic base for visiting Northumberland, and I am delighted pooch got plenty of treats and tummy tickles I hope!! We look forward to welcoming you back to 55 Wellwood Street. Property Owner

  • "We were very impressed with the property!"

It was newly decorated to a high standard, there were fluffy white towels and comfy beds. One bedroom with en-suite bathroom and tv. Big bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. Fully equipped kitchen! Although it is located in a street and is mid terrace it was quiet and parking was easy. The harbour was approximately 10 minutes walk and there were lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. We recommend Rossini’s Italian restaurant! We went on a boat trip from the harbour and saw puffins (that leave in July apparently)! There is so much to see and do in Northumberland, it is beautiful and this was a good base to be able to reach lots of places. For people who like being in a small town! And when we arrived there was a lovely hamper!!

Thank you for your review we are delighted that you enjoyed your visit. Amble is indeed a great base to explore Northumberland with an increasing range of local shops and restaurants. We look forward to welcoming you back to our delightful coastal town. Property Owner

  • "Beautifully appointed property, the owner has done everything to ensure the house is comfortable and welcoming in its decor and furnishings as well as a lovely welcome basket even loads of treats for the dog."

The property has a great holiday vibe despite being in a residential street, but it very easy walking to all the amenties of Amble which might not be as pretty as other nearby towns but has loads of great eateries and plenty of heart with friendly locals

Thank you for your lovely review. So glad you enjoyed your stay in Amble which is a great location for experiencing everything the whole of Northumberland has to offer, which as you say has a fantastic array of independent restaurants and shops, as well as a fantastic dog friendly coastal area. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "The property is exactly as described."

A bit of a shock to start with if you're not used to these types of houses ie driving in to a resdential area, but once you're in its fine. No neighbour/ street noise and once you get your bearings, you are minutes away from shops, pubs, takeaways, beaches, harbour area etc. Nice House with a good holiday feel about it.

Thank you for providing a 5 star review. We work very hard to provide a quality and relaxed home from home holiday experience for our guests. We look forward to welcoming you back to beautiful Northumberland. Property Owner

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
