  • "The house is modern & very well presented."

The three bathrooms are super and very well kitted out. We enjoyed the living space very much and the nice touch of the welcome basket and fresh milk was much appreciated. The only downside for us was we found the double bed way too firm for us and we weren't too comfortable and didn't sleep well. Sadly there had been some new plaster work done in the second bedroom so we didn't feel we could use that space. We had been given prior notice of this.

Thank you for your review and glad you found the house comfortable. I am sorry to hear the bed was not as comfy as you would like. I will get a mattress topper I think, so people have options.. Hopefully welcome you back soon. Property Owner

Not only did the owner provide a welcome pack for us but some welcome treats for our little dog and a basket of toys for her to play with. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Amble is such a great place for dogs, so we welcome them just as much as our guests.. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous comfortable cottage, everything that we needed for our week’s stay."

Great location close to the shops, cafés & restaurants, & only a 5 minute walk to the harbour & to green areas for the dog. Good contact from Nikki, the owner, checking that everything was ok. Shame there is no private parking space but we managed to park outside the property most of the time.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay and yes the cottage is great for all the local amenities. Glad you found parking ok, especially with the roadworks on.. Hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous holiday home!"

Clean, comfortable with lots of thought put into the equipment. There is a hairdryer (which it didn’t state in the particulars- so this could be added as I took my own). Amble is a good base for exploring the area with lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants to visit.

Thank you for your lovely review. Yes I will put the hairdryer in the information. Hope to welcome you back soon.. Property Owner

  • "I have stayed at many cottages over the years and can honestly say that Myrtle cottage is a clear winner."

The owner, Nikki, texted after our arrival to check everything was ok for us which we appreciated. The cottage is very well appointed: the furniture is high quality and comfortable; the bedrooms are large and both have en-suite showers - fabulous. The large family bathroom downstairs is gorgeous. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and there was even a doggy welcome pack which my wee dog loved. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Myrtle Cottage - it has everything you need to make your holiday a memorable one. We will definitely be back!

  • "Very clean property and loved the welcome pack."

Few issues to be aware of. Heating was timed snd unable to change which meant the house got cold. Used the wood burner but upstairs was left cold. Could not use bath downstairs as the bathroom was far to cold. Radiator was not sufficient. Doors to shower very small to get into. Not adequate for a medium to large person. Owner really needs to focus on outside seating area as very unappealing.

Thank you for your feedback. The heating can be controlled by the thermostat, so can be adjusted as needed. I appreciate the back yard has not been painted yet, it should have been done a few weeks ago, but the weather let us down. It is going to get done next week. Glad you found the property clean and enjoyed the welcome pack. Property Owner

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
