    We really enjoyed our stay at the Loft, a very nice place fulfilling all our needs, an excellent base for our tour around Northumberland, Beamish and Holy Island to name but two, the only improvement which didn’t spoil our time would be to fix the very noisy cooker hood vent that bangs when windy and the toilet need’s securing, over all a super holiday accommodation

  • "The Loft is a great holiday apartment for two people."

    Well proportioned and comfortable. Our preference is to leave the car and use public transport where possible, so the close by stop for the x18 and x20 services was ideal. Close by attractions and locations including Hauxley nature reserve, Warkworth and Alnmouth (wonderful beach) were our favourites

We would like to add this bus service(X18) goes all the way from Newcastle to Berwick and was voted one of the most scenic bus routes taking in all of the north east coast. Thanks again.   • "A beautiful apartment in the centre of Amble so very convenient for both the town and surrounding attractions."

    We found the apartment very comfortable and spacious and the kitchen has everything required. The owners kindly left a generous welcome pack and contacted us to make sure all was well. Free on-street parking outside from 4pm to 10am. The public car park is a short walk away and not expensive.

  • "A very comfortable flat with everything you need for a week`s stay."

    Situated on the high street in Amble which was handy for shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Only a short walk to the harbour and marina and an excellent base to explore Northumberland from. Would definitely recommend.

  • "I would give this property 4."

    9 out of 5 if it was possible. The only reason it's not five stars is because of the parking. However, once I'd worked out the best use of the time limits and convenient car park, especially on the morning I was leaving, it worked well. Otherwise I was extremely comfortable.. And a big thank you to the owners for their concern and local weather information on my arrival day which coincided with red weather warnings.

    We acknowledge that the car parking situation initially appears less than ideal but, as you found, there is reasonable on street parking nearby and a 24 hour car park at the bottom of the main street.     It is cosy,comfortable and very well equipped. The bed was super comfy! There is plenty of information about the area available,and a lovely piece in the folder on Ambles history. A box of chocolates and a note from the owners were a special touch too. Would highly recommend this little gem.

  • "Absolutely gorgeous property on the Main Street."

    We were able to park with no issues. Welcome box of chocolates was a lovely touch. Amble itself is gorgeous with some amazing food places especially the fish shack. I would recommend this to anyone needing a break from the rat race.

  • "Amble is an ideal base for touring the Northumberland coast and the Loft is very comfortable and clean."

    It has everything that you could reasonably need and is in the middle of the town and harbour and so within easy walking distance of places to eat and drink. The only downside is that there is no bespoke parking and the street has parking restrictions during normal daytime hours, although there are nearby car parks.

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged.
