  • "The house was in an excellent location just a few minutes walk from beadnell Bay."

The accomodation was spacious and very well equipped. The reason we have given it a 3 star and not a 4 star was due to the acrid smell on the second floor which made for an overall unpleasant experience. We were called an hour before check in to say that there had been a leak and whilst the leak had been fixed, there was a stain on one of the bedroom ceilings. When we arrived the carpet in the top bedroom was wet through as was the ceiling of the room below. There was a very strong smell which got worse as the week went on. To such an extent that we had to sleep with the velux windows wide open each night. We were only able to do this as we were blessed with good weather, had it been raining, we would have been forced to close the windows and the smell room would have been unbearable. Such a shame as I think this would have been a very comfortable stay if it were not for the smell. We would advise to check this issue has been rectified before booking .

  • "We thought that the property was well equipped."

Overall we had very positive thoughts. The bathrooms have no illuminated mirrors over the wash basins and no shaver plugs making shaving very challenging. Quite unusual. There was no full- length mirror anywhere which my Wife and Daughter found difficult and dissapointing. The property is well placed for the beaches and local bars/ re#taurants.

  • "We have stayed in Beadnell on many occasions."

So we knew the area, we have a dog and for us it's the walking we get to do, so the property apart from being very crtable and clean is very central to what we need, and a very short walk to the dog friendly beach

  • "A lovely property close to the beach, both sandy and rocky which appealed to us all."

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, plenty of bathrooms and facilities to accommodate us all. The enclosed garden, an essential for us having 3 children and 2 dogs, is both private and well-maintained. Off-road parking for 3 cars - also essential. We had a great holiday in this lovely house.

  • "Beach Walk was a delight."

The house was spotlessly clean with every facility thought of and provided for. The garden was secure with a perfect patio for relaxing in. The house has quick and easy access to the beach and as such was perfect for us and our four-legged friends.

  • "I can’t believe the fridge in the kitchen hasn’t been replaced since our last visit!"

! There are so many comments in the visitors book that mention it as well! Otherwise the house is perfect. It’s so annoying about the fridge. Please do something about it.

  • "A great holiday house, very well situated for the beach with the 'secret path' leading from the back garden round to the beach, our dogs loved it."

The house itself was very clean and tidy and very well equipped, much better than previous houses we've visited, we only needed to take food! There were six adults, one child and two dogs, the house suited us very well and the 'sky lounge' (as we named it) was an added bonus. The top floor shower leaked on the last day but we were assured that it would be fixed on our departure.

  • "Visited June 2024, Lovely house, this was our 2nd visit, ideal for access to the beach."

Very quiet and clean area. 4 single over 65's so the 4 en-suite rooms were lovely. Ample living space including the top floor living room. The property was well maintained and clean, this includes the rear garden. Would certainly consider another visit.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back."

It was very clean and comfortable. I called a number to report a leak in one of the bedrooms it was coming from the top shower room and we think it was when the big shower head was used. We put a tin on the bed to catch drips. Also the door stopper in hall was broken. Apart from that we loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer.

  • "This was a beautiful property, spacious and with high quality furnishings."

Sadly not all of the cookware was clean and the bathroom radiators needed dusting. The previous occupiers or cleaners had not ensured that the non-recycling bin had been put out, so it was overflowing. The door handle between the hallway and the spacious open-plan kitchen/living area needed attention as it was loose. None of the above detracted from our restful holiday in a perfect location, so close to the beach, coastal walks and Breathtaking views.

  • "There were 5 adults and 3 children at the property for 5 days out of the 7 but it never felt cramped or too small."

It was well presented and clean. One of the showers was a bit too small for adult use and another shower was a bit underpowered. Overall though it did everything we wanted and we would be happy to return.

  • "A nice property which was very comfortable for our family group of 5 adults, 1 infant and 3 dogs."

We visited slightly out of season, in mid March, so it’s nice to report that the house warmed up very quickly when the central heating was switched on. Very handy garage space with all the white goods/utilities you’d need. There was also a really nice 2nd floor living room which was a relaxing place to sit with our dogs and look out of the huge window. The garden was totally enclosed and secure which was great because our dogs are expert escapologists! The house is part of a new ‘ish’ estate and it felt like at least 80% of the homes were holiday properties. Out of season it was quiet. The beach is only 3 minutes walk away via the garden back gate and a ‘secret’ footpath. Beadnell Beach itself is a beautiful curved bay with a small picturesque harbour. If we had to nit pick, the TV on the wall in the living room could’ve done with being mounted on an extendable, adjustable bracket as, without it, only 2 or 3 people could watch it comfortably. It’s only a minor observation though.

Just a minutes walk to the beach and so convenient to have The Landings for a coffee after walking the dogs. Sadly we left early due to Storm Babet brewing but would love to visit again. We will definitely recommend to friends.

With water dripping from ceiling on to single bed (fortunately an unoccupied bed) when first used - not used again for holiday. WC leaking - repaired mid break, sink also leaking in twin room. Kettle leaking Washing machine leaking Keys got stuck (externally) in back door Lights/bulbs not working in several rooms Generally - stayed in 2021 and found the property in reasonable order. Recent stay in 2023 was not as satisfactory, we would not revisit this property.

  • "I was very upset that my deposit could not be transferred from one property to another."

I understand losing my deposit if I didn’t rebook. But surely changing the property-to a more expensive one- in February for a booking in late July doesn’t warrant being told ‘this property may not be rebooked’. This was for the height of the holiday season in Bamburgh!! The property in Beadnell was absolutely perfect for us. Within a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Clean, comfortable and spacious. This was for Granny, Mum & Dad, 4 teenagers and dogs. Brilliant. 1 minute to excellent Restaurant/Beach Bar. Freezer needed replacing and problem one day with shower but that sorted out within 24hrs.

About the location

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
