Cosy, comfortable and well situated to explore the beautiful Northumberland coastline. Beadnell village has a great local pub, chippy van plus a couple of bistro cafes.

The cottage was immaculately clean and very well-equipped. The sunroom was a brilliant second reception space, a lovely place to relax and read, as well as for eating meals. We highly recommend Lyndhurst Cottage!

  • "We had a great fortnight in this delightful cottage."

First impressions were of cleanliness and spaciousness that we hadn't expected in such a small building. Everything we needed for our stay was provided and more. The beds were really comfy and the showers great. The weather wasn't good for part of the first week but we enjoyed sitting in the sunroom, which felt cosy despite the weather outside. The garden was great and the patio gets the sun for most of the day. Beadnell Bay is our favourite place so being able to walk there every day meant we hardly used our car. We visited the cafes and The Craster Arms a few times, all within 5 minutes walk. We also used local buses to get to Bamburgh and Seahouses and walked back. They are not frequent but always seemed to be on time and well priced. We will return to Beadnell and hope to stay at Lyndhurst Cottage again.

Thank you for your kind review! Look forward to welcoming you again. Property Owner

  • "Once again we were very pleased with Lyndhurst and its facilities."

The storage heaters were good and warmed the rooms perfectly. We did wonder if someone had altered the timing on the heater in the lounge as it was coming on at times when we were out in the day and not on in the evening. We didn't touch the controls, as instructed, and fortunately we were warm enough in the evening to do without it. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

  • "We enjoyed the relaxed village and environs and appreciated the cosy period cottage which was tastefully furnished , clean and very well appointed."

I note the Sykes advert referred to 'shops' plural but we could only find one shop, as such, in Beadnell itself and it was up for sale. Plenty of variety for eating places however and most were easily walked. Overall we would recommend Lyndhust Cottage as a great holiday property and base for exploring the area.

The cottage offered our family of four everything we needed for our stay. It was clean, well presented and comfortable. The garden was a real hit with our two young children and whilst it is clearly very well maintained and looked after it was still perfect for children to play in. The cottage has a great location, not only in Beadnell, but in Northumberland as a whole - perfect for lots of exploring. Thank you for having us, we hope to be back again one day.

  • "Our 10th stay in this lovely cottage and already booked to return later in the year."

It’s a brilliant base for a family holiday. High traffic areas very clean however would benefit from a deep clean in wider areas and of the bedding. Deep dust in bedroom lampshades, cobwebs in some areas and stains on mattress protectors and quilts (only discovered as guests have to strip the beds on departure). Giving this as constructive feedback as we know the owners have high standards.

. It had everything we could need. The beds are comfortable as is the seating in the lounge, and it is all clean and tastefully decorated.. The garden is nicely laid out with a variety of seating and it was a pleasure to see plenty of birdlife. We found it ideally placed to explore north Anglesey though with the quiet A55 dual carriageway most places are within easy reach. We will be happy to stay there again.

  • "The property and area were lovely and the description of the area was great (the pub really was 2 mins away!"

) and we would definitely return at a sunnier time of the year. The downside was the long list of things we had to do, bring our own towels, strip all the beds etc etc and quite frustratingly having to leave by 9.30 am so we didn't overlap with the cleaners, knowing the next people can't check in until 3 pm, we were only there for two nights so paid for considerably less than 48 hours. I understand the Covid precautions but there's a fine line between genuine precautions and just saving money, a pillow case costs less to wash and dry than a towel for instance. For what it's worth this is a 'qualified' opinion as we have a letting property as well, but all this is meant to be constructive criticism, you have a lovely property in a lovely area.

Thank you for comments which I have duly noted. The problem with exit and entry times is that Northumberland is so busy now that the cleaning companies have so many houses to clean and it is impossible to tie them down to exact cleaning schedules. If houses are left in a poor state it throws their schedule out. The timings are based on normal hotel access so everyone can get access at a fair time. Property Owner

Inside it really did feel like a family home the way it was presented and furnished not like many holiday houses which tend to be utilitarian in their furnishings. The garden was also a joy in the way it was planted, not just being put down to grass. Beadnell is a quite seaside village within easy reach of the more touristy locations but far enough away to be quietly relaxing although this might change it the near future with apparent amount of house building that is currently taking place. Maybe we visited just in time!

About the location

BEADNELL

Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.
