Very good layout to be able together as a family. Owners have thought of lots of the little extras even replacement loo rolls! A wonderful comfy stay in a beautiful part of the world. Would definitely return in the future.

"Fabulous cottage with absolutely everything you could ever want!"
We had some brilliant games nights. We had one slight issue but the owners were very helpful. Amazing location and we did really well in seahouses for gluten free food, which is essential for us. We will definitely return!
-
"The house is a home from the minute you walk through the door."
It is spacious, clean, well equipped and extremely well placed for the beach walks. The enclosed garden was wonderful for our little dog to go out in. We found the bed really comfortable and had plenty of towels provided. Thank you for the welcome tray, a lovely site after a long journey in heavy rain. We would recommend this property and would love to return next year.
-
"Loved our holiday here!"
Fantastic location for Beadnell beach (3 minute walk) which is a great beach and lovely area with lots to do on the doorstep or further afield. House had everything you need and was clean and comfortable. Enclosed garden for the dog and nice garden furniture for the humans (watch out for the rabbits though). Owners were contactable as required and very friendly.
-
"This is our second time at your lovely cottage and we would like to compliment you on the overall standard of the house."
The kitchen had every utensil I needed and we utilised the garage this time to store our daughter’s paddle board. Suberb location and the family of bunnies provided hours of fun watching their antics. We will be booking again

"The house felt like home, we were very comfortable and had a lovely stay."
The location of the house is perfect, just around the corner from the beach and there are lovely pubs just a short walk away. Smart tv was a bonus and having the extra fridge freezer in the garage meant I could get a decent shop in. We would definitely choose sandy cove again, we were really sad to leave.
Thank you so much for your comments Property Owner

"Very tired and in need of a refresh, very cluttered"

"Had a wonderful time at Sandy Cove and would definitely return !"
House was warm and comfortable, and the location is amazing. I would agree with previous comments regarding it needing a freshening up ( the kettle in particular could do with replacing ) but I understand that is something the owners look at when they come to stay. Overall, we thought it was a fab house and we made some lovely memories there so thank you :0)

"The house is ideally positioned for the beach, literally minutes from the beach."
The house is comfortable and well equipped. We had a problem with the key when we first arrived but we oiled the lock and it worked perfectly afterwards. Just a couple of niggles, an outside light in the garden would be helpful, from the side gate infront of the bin storage could do with flags or gravel putting down, as if it's rained or when you come back from the beach it can get a bit messy and there was no mat by the utility door. The fan in the upstairs bathroom wasn't working. As I said a bit nit picking but those were the only faults. I would certainly book this house again when we are next in Northumberland.
-
"Fantastic accommodation, great location, will definitely book again."
-
"The main bathroom lacks a shower, the shower in the ensuite is at the wrong end of the bath making it awkward to use, the stairs and upper floors creak which is not good when getting children to sleep, some decorating is required."
It would be beneficial to pave the area where the waste bins are located and the approach, to avoid walking on wet/muddy grass. On the plus side the property is close to the beach, has parking for two cars and has a good sized enclosed garden.
Thank you for your feedback. We are looking to decorate the property later this year. Again thank you for taking the time to give feedback. Property Owner

"Second stay at Sandy Cove and we love it!"
2 minutes to a wonderful beach, lovely warm property that is spacious, comfortable and nicely set out. Love the DVD player as it means we can watch our favourite films after long walks. Great location and loads of parking at the front of the property. Enclosed garden for our dog too. We had a great time and will be back!
-
"We had a lovely stay."
Thank you so much for having us. The christmas decorations were unexpected but a lovely touch. Kitchen pans/implements great. Beds comfortable. Just in all a lovely house with everything we needed and in a great spot.
-
"The location of the property was perfect for our needs and that of our dog."
The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Everything we needed and more was to hand.We will be returning in May which is something we are really looking forward to.
-
"Absolutely fabulous just a short 5 minute walk to beach."
Very spacious and clean
-
"Excellent location, near the beach."
The cottage was comfortable and did have everything we needed. It was clean and the garden and furniture a welcome addition for the lovely sunshine we had. The house just felt a little tired and worn in places, and would probably benefit from a bit of an update. That said it did tick all the boxes for a great long weekend.
-
"The property is ideal for our needs - grandma, parents, 2 children and dog and feels like a real home from home."
It’s well equipped and very comfortable and the pool table in the garage is a welcome diversion on a rainy day. I guess it’s obvious that we like it as we’ve just spent our 8th holiday there. An overbath shower in the family bathroom would be a useful addition, but that’s a minor point. We love Northumberland - the beach at Beadnell is fabulous and, as we live in North Yorkshire, it’s not far to travel.
-
"Sandy Cove was the ideal house in the ideal location that we required for our family (2 adults, 4 teens) holiday."
All facilities worked and all furnishings and fittings were of good condition. The enclosed garden was great for sitting in the sunshine as it got the rays almost all evening.
-
"Very clean and comfortable."
Equipped with everything we needed for a holiday exploring and walking along the Northumberland coast. Excellent location. Highly recommended.
-
"Comfortable but a little ‘tired’ in places, needing decoration."
Location very good for the beach. We enjoyed our stay as plenty in the area to visit.
-
"Sandy Gove is a great property to stay in literally few minutes walk and you are at the beach, property is clean well equipped with everything you need, added bonus is the garden for the dog and a sun trap when you are sat out there, we had a great 4 days weather was wall to wall sunshine, we will certainly be back."
-
"The house was brilliant."
Literally minutes from the sea and local restaurant which served a lovely breakfast. The house was spotless and comfortable, it contained everything we could possible need. If I had to find one fault it could be the need for an outside light at the rear, probably during summer months it wouldn't be needed but with going early in the year it would have been a welcome addition. That said we will certainly be booking again we were so pleased with our choice of house. Thank you to the owners, we had a wonderful stay.
-
"This is our second stay at Sandy Cove and we love it!"
The house is perfect, spotlessly clean and very comfortable for our stay. The enclosed garden is great for our dog. Thank you!
-
"Great holiday at Sandy Cove - property had everything we needed, it was warm, comfortable and we had a great time."
Literally 2 minutes from an amazing beach. The best compliment I can give to this property is that we want to book up again for next year. Would definitely recommend as we had a fantastic holiday.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
The tea and coffee on arrival was very welcome. The house is spacious and well equipped. We had a lovely holiday spending a lot of time on the beaches which were two minutes walk from the house. One of the cars we travelled in was an electric car and it was convenient to have the electric chargers just around the corner. Thanks for a lovely stay.
-
"Very comfortable accommodation and well equipped."
Everything there we needed and the location is perfect. We really enjoyed our holiday. Thank you.

"Another great week in beadnell the house was great, well cleaned and most things ..."
Another great week in beadnell the house was great, well cleaned and most things you would need for your holiday and only 2 minutes from beach Great enclosed garden for our dog and to enjoy at end of the day Would use again Owners need to think about updating some things especially paint throughout lower half of the hose other than that
-
"Had an excellent holiday, great house with everything you need."
Fantastic beaches on your doorstep, secure garden rear garden with 5ft fence all round which would kee most dogs in. Only down sides werre we had to clean the patio door windows as they were cover in dog marks and the TV screen needed cleaned as well, just small points which didn't affect our enjoyment at all.
-
"We couldn't fault the property my wife and I have stayed there before everything ..."
We couldn't fault the property my wife and I have stayed there before everything we needed in the kitchen was there we like Beadnell and the lovely beach and its perfectly positioned for that
-
"Good location for exploring Northumberland and a spacious property Liked the fully enclosed garden for the dog We felt the property was a little "tired" needing some TLC , quite a few pieces of crockery chipped There is plenty of crockery/utensils (most duplicated !"
) and some were dirty/greasy Some of the games were dusty in the bookshelf There were wet nose dog marks on the patio doors This might seem petty but the prices were hiked for Covid cleaning ?! Also the garden furniture is rusty and one of the legs gave way causing a coffee spillage Don't want to end on a negative we all enjoyed a lovely holiday
Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. The property is very well decorated throughout, and we are sorry to hear that you felt it was “tired.” We admit there were four chipped plates and confirm these have been removed. The utensils are checked on every changeover and the cleaning team do their very best to deliver high cleanliness standards, however your points relating to the cleanliness of the property will, of course, be taken on board. With regards to the garden furniture, we thank you for bringing this to our attention and would like to assure you that we will look to replace the chairs as soon as possible. Had we been made aware of these concerns during your stay, we would have done our very best, as quickly as possible, to put things right for you. Thank you again for your feedback. Property Owner

"A fabulous base for enjoying the coast with the children and dog."
So close to the beach, very comfortable house and well equipped. Would love to come back to Sandy Cove :)
-
"Very comfortable, spacious property in a great location, only just round the corner from the glorious beach."
Great for visiting wonderful Northumberland. And for he time of year we enjoyed great weather, plenty of sunshine and a chilly wind encouraging us to keep walking on the lovely coastal paths. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
-
"Our second visit to Sandy Cove and we hope to come back again soon."
Great location and accommodation.
-
"Absolutely loved our stay at Sandy Cove."
The cottage was spotless and very well presented. The kitchen had everything you might need during your stay. Our dog loved the garden and the short 2 min walk to the beach. We would love to book again in the future.
-
"A great property, we’ve stayed before and enjoyed it for a second time."
Very handy for the beach and for getting to nearby towns and attractions. Beadnell village is lovely as is the pub and the fish and chip van which makes an appearance on a weekend (up to the end of October). Another great Beadnell holiday.
-
"The property was exactly as described, plus the owner kindly left some ..."
The property was exactly as described, plus the owner kindly left some additional provisions and plenty of information on local services
-
"Grab rails in the shower would be helpful."
-
"Very slick process and the house was wonderful."
Thankyou
-
"Would like to say that we were disappointed in the cleanliness of the house."
Not been allowed in until 5 pm on the understanding of deep clean , due to Covid. That did nt happen the house was filthy, we had to vacate for cleaners to come back early next morning. Was very distressing and caused anxiety .
Thank you for your feedback. The Owner was very sorry that the property was not clean properly on this occasion and the matter has been dealt with to ensure property is cleaned to a high standard for all future bookings. Kind regards Property Owner

Beadnell is an amazing place and with only a 2 minute walk to the beach this house was in an amazing location Lovely house with everything needed for a self catering stay and a garden which caught the evening sun
-
"This was our fourth visit to Sandy Cove, which I think says it all about our satisfaction."
The house suited our needs perfectly (3 generations plus dog) and the proximity to the beach is a definite bonus. Have already booked for next year.
-
"The Property is only 2 min walk to a beautiful beach, the property had everything you need, we only found a couple of issues but it didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves, the welcome cake and milk was much appreciated."
The only issues were the downstairs shower cubicle was not clean, and there were dirty tissues at the back of the bed, the only other issue is cupboard space for food. This could be easily sorted by cutting down on glasses ect. You could store them in the Garage. We would definitely book again.
-
"4th time at this house."
It has it all - brilliant location, clean, well equipped, luxury appliances. If we have had any problems Sykes Cottages have always been a great help ! Shame you can't control the weather.
-
"The over the bath shower in the ensuit is at the wrong end of the bath."
The Wi-Fi password displayed in the laundry room is incorrect plus the router is not locked away.

"The property was very good and excellent location."
However had an issue with the ensuite shower. This was an over bath one and as the bath slopped and the shower head was quite small it was tricky getting right under it but even worse was that the water ran hot and then cold! The downstairs shower ran fine but the actual cubicle is quite small. It was ok for us but could be a problem for some people.
-
"The facilities were up to expectation."
Little niggles like no hooks in the downstairs shower room, the mirror set far too high in the family bathroom, extractor fans not working, unable to access the internet despite using the codes provided, the information regarding the bins was inaccurate. Being the end of the season some things were getting "tired". Overall though a very good property and one we would use again.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you would visit us again. The extractor fan is in good working order. Its possible that it was switched off at the wall in error. The WIFI codes are provided and correct & the information regarding the bins is issued from the local council so will be the same for all properties in the area. We appreciate you taking the time to leave these comments. Thank you Property Owner

"We had a very lovely stay at Sandy Cove in Beadnell."
The house had everything we needed and the enclosed back garden was especially great for our cockapoo who loved to chance the baby rabbits every morning but fortunately never caught one! I would recommend this house with its seaside themed wall art to any family wishing to stay in the wonderful Beadnell. Plenty of space for all.
-
"The third time that the family have stayed in this house."
Facilities are excellent and proximity to the beach a definite advantage. We are hoping to book again next year.
-
"Really well equipped 4 bedroom house just 3 minute walk from beach."
Spotlessly clean with great central heating and plenty hot water for baths and showers at any time. Wi-Fi was excellent and the large TV had added bonus of free Netflix for evening viewing. Very comfortable lounge and large dining table good for family meals. Very quiet area at night so sleep is a joy. Lots to see and do in area to keep the whole family happy. The beach here is outstanding and our 4 year old Golden Retriever had a great week on the sand and the dunes. Highly recommended.
-
"Just a nice place to be for a dog friendly holiday."
-
"Really homely property."
Was warm when we arrived at 10pm and easy to settle into. No complaints from the kids either ! :)
-
"Our second stay at Sandy Cove and still the most comfortable and cleanest property we have stayed in."
Beautiful location - 2 minute walk to the beach. We have booked many properties with Sykes over the years and this is the only one we have stayed in twice. Fully enclosed garden and downstairs toilet. Easy driving distance to Alnwick, Berwick, Morpeth and Newcastle. We hope to return again. Many thanks.
-
"Lovely holiday cottage."
Equipped above the norm. Great standard of cleanliness. No complaints
-
"Beautiful holiday home in a beautiful location Beach literally 2 mins walk away."
Really clean and well kept property Will be booking again
-
"A lovely property, couldn't fault it :) Ideal location for touring Northumberland - and great that it was within walking distance to Beadnell Bay beach."
Many thanks
-
"Sandy Cove is a wonderful place to stay."
The location is superb, within 30 min drive of Lindesfarne, Bamburgh, Alnwick, Seahouses, Dunstanburgh and everything inbetween. The cottage itself is just 100 yards or so from the sweeping Beadnell beach. The cottage was very clean and well furnished with a full larder and garage for all the holiday essentials. I would recommend it and would gladly stay there again.
-
"Great holiday nice place ( signs of wear and tear ,needs refreshing) great location, would stay again."
-
"We were three generations of our family on this holiday stay."
The accommodation is well equipped, with everything we needed. The house is ideally located for the beach, rock pools, and the coastal walking paths. We couldn't have asked for any more, thank you.
-
"We had occasion to call Sykes twice."
Both calls sorted the issues quickly. Minor winge - think one key for 4 bedroomed house is not on - there ought to be other keys inside. Yes the one key could go back into the key box but the key box is perhaps over-used because of there being one key... and is quite difficult to open at times. Clearly not everyone in a party wants to come and go at the same time. All in all a well equipped & nicely furnished large house on a quiet road very close to an excellent beach. Btw, the only reason didn’t give it top comfort was because sofas getting a bit squishy.
-
"Sandy cove is an extremely comfortable house."
On entering the property it was lovely and warm. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. I have been to a few properties in Beadnel and that is the first that has left a welcome pack. The kitchen is well equipped and everything was clean in it. The linen on the beds was spotless as were the beds. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've been in. Plenty space in the property. 3 bathrooms. One being a shower room with toilet down stairs. An enclosed garden which is safe for children and dogs. Great location just 2 min walk to the beach. We are looking forward to going back in October and taking our grandchildren.
-
"The Northumberland coast is a brilliant location to visit, with Sandy Cove placed in the middle, with a superb sandy beach with 2 minutes walk."
-
"A lovely homely house ."
We regularly holiday in Beadnell this is one of the best we have stayed in Lovely little touches of welcome pack and cake Bella our dog appreciated the bowls poo bags and towel .Plenty of books dvds and games to play . We spent a really chilled week there and would definitely stay again .
-
"The cottage had generous accommodation for 5 with four bedrooms and three bathrooms and plenty of storage with a garage and second fridge/freezer."
We could easily store all our bicycles and have direct access onto the road. We can recommend the village shop for fresh bread a wide range of necessaries, the pub The Craster Arms to walk to and for great atmosphere and, of course, the main feature, easy access to the harbour and coast both South to Newton and North to Seahouses (where all facilities can be found). We also recommend the Willowburn Leisure Centre at Alnwick for swimming, fitness classes etc.
-
"This was our second stay at Sandy Cove & once again enjoyable."
The use of the garage was a bonus with drying off two wet dogs & the close proximity to the beach was great, also the enclosed escape proof garden.
-
"Very well-equipped and spacious holiday cottage so near to a fantastic beach and great for small children."
Could not have asked for more from a weeks holiday and the games provided were great for our 3 year old. Facilities exceeded expectation and we had a relaxed and very enjoyable stay at Sandy Cove. Beadnell is a lovely destination and the village offers enough. There is plenty on the doorstep to plan days out. Great holiday!

Where you’ll be staying
BEADNELL
Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles.
This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away. There are several golf courses in the area.
