  • "Lovely little cottage ideal for our break with our 2 dogs."

Cottage had everything we needed to cater for ourselves. Lovely big secure garden for the dogs, which was great. Situated well for exploring Northumberland.

  • "Property fine."

No problems with the stairs they are steep but so are a lot of old properties, and these ones have a non slip surface. We could have done with a coffee table in front of the settee for evening drinks etc. With a dog you can't put drinks on the floor. Listing perhaps needs to say that good parking is reserved for you opposite the farm buildings, less than 50 metres away

  • "Cooker was poor and took a long time to warm anything up."

The shower whilst it heated the water well it had very poor power, to the point where my wife had to take an hour to rinse her hair. This could be rectified with a new modern shower head for around £25. The TV signal kept dropping out to the point where we watched streaming only. Also as a health and safety professional, I would recommend covering the stairs in carpet to give more sure footing.

  • "A lovely homely but spacious cottage, great outdoor space."

The kitchen had fab work space for cooking ( often quite rare in cottages!) and was extremely well equipped. Milk in fridge on arrival most welcome! One small thing: maybe some cushions in sitting room , as arm chairs and sofa very deep and used spare pillows for extra back support! Had a fantastic stay in your lovely cottage, thank you!

  • "A lively quaint, basic cottage, just right for a quiet getaway."

Our dog loved the garden. The only negatives was the toilet being downstairs so when we needed to get up in the night the creaky floorboards kept waking the dog up. Also, the main oven didn't work so we could only use the small top oven which was not ideal for cooking for 4 of us. Meant eating out a bit more. Other than that we enjoyed our holiday, so much to see and do so I'm sure we'll be back.

  • "Great little cottage tucked away near the coast and the little town of Alnmouth."

Well equipped (bonus points for a good sized teapot!!) and clean with comfy beds, plenty of room downstairs and in the enclosed garden (great for the dog) the cottage was ideally situated to explore coastal and inland attractions as well as not being too far from amenities. The low beams could be an issue for some, although the signs were helpful reminders. The armchairs/settee are quite deep and perhaps the addition of some colourful cushions would make it more homely and comfy. The weather was a bit mixed and quite cool on arrival so sadly we needed some heating but once we'd worked out the storage heaters it was very cosy. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the area is beautiful.

  • "Was worried about small fence at end of garden ."

.its quite low and thank goodness our dog is not the type to jump fences cos road other side of fence. Storage heaters don't work but plug in heaters do. Rust on side of Bath. Stairs quite dodgy not wide enough for over 4 feet size feet.have to walk down 1 at a time and hold on. Back door a pain cos have to slam door more than once to close and lock it. Bad dust behind bedroom mirror. I took pictures. Bread crumbs left in breadbin. Fridge had a bad smell when we 1st opened door.freezer needs cleaning inside. 1spot light in kitchen not working but others ok. Cut grass left in garden..saw other visters in book complain cos grass comes into cottage when walked on.same with us. Cottage was freezing mostly due to cold weather. No slip mat in Bath. No coffee and tea and sugar left as a greeting only a packet of biscuits and a bottle of milk. We had to bag up dirty washing for them and hoover all round for our money we payed. A step upto kitchen from frontroom carpet not mark out as trip hazard. Locks on b.room wardrobe hard to turn same as cupboard in frontroom. If you have bad hands not good. Having said all this we did enjoy our stay because we make the most of it.but think this one not upto your usual standards for visters.but think you may need to look around cottage to check for yourselves.thank you very much.

  • "Our 3rd stay here, it’s a lovely cosy, well equipped cottage, an excellent base for exploring the Northumberland coastline and is dog friendly with a fantastic enclosed garden."

The neighbours are all friendly and we walked twice directly out of the cottage, once across to Wooden and then down to Warkworth beach and the other on a circular country walk towards Alnwick under the viaduct passing Bilton mill and by the river seeing deer, hares, leverets. ❤️❤️❤️

Lovely fresh eggs available to buy each day. Cottage had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable, garden was totally enclosed by a large fence so excellent for our 2 dogs!

  • "Wonderful cottage in an absolutely perfect location, the garden was fantastic for our dog to run around in as it was enclosed so he couldn’t escape!"

The furniture could do with a bit of an ‘up cycle’ as it was very dated and dusty, nothing that a lick of paint wouldn’t solve though, other than that there was everything you need for a staycation and we would happily return

  • "Basic but spacious and comfortable cottage representing good value for money."

Spotlessly clean when we arrived. Some of the equipment is a little dated but all electrical items were PAT tested and everything was in good working order. Fabulous location - really quiet, allocated parking space. Just a couple of miles from beautiful beaches and only three or four miles from Alnwick with some good cycle tracks in the local area. Not the fanciest decor but realistically priced. Would happily stay here again.

The stairs are not the old wood ones but laminate and can be slippery.

Large garden for the dogs and garden furniture to sit out with a glass of wine in the evening. Parking for the car. There wasn't anything the owners hadn't thought of. Except a chopping board which seems to get mentioned in other reviews (had to find something that wasn't perfect). Would definitely recommend this cottage.

  • "Lovely cottage, spacious rooms."

Very clean. Everything worked and was in good condition - appliances etc. Amazing garden - large and enclosed, so perfect for children. We stayed with our baby and toddler and it was ideal, everything we needed and a very comfortable cottage. Lovely touches on arrival - milk in the fridge and shortbread biscuits left for us. Also beautiful Emma Bridgewater crockery which was a lovely surprise. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Owner really helpful - kettle broke one evening and she brought a new one round straightaway. Friendly neighbours too. We had a lovely week here and will definitely be back. Can’t recommend it enough! Thank you very much
