  • "We loved our stay at Dray Cottage."

It was perfect for us - comfortable and cosy and very well appointed. We felt like a lot of thought had been put into making us welcome and comfortable. Parking was great and a gorgeous walk along the river just yards away. It was also very quiet. A lovely base to explore a beautiful county. Thank you.

Thank you Tim for your kind words about Dray Cottage. It means a lot to us to know that our guests have had a nice time in Warkworth. It was a pleasure hosting you both. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage."

Well equipped. Great location. Only down was the plug in air freshners which were a bit overpowering.

Thank you for your positive feedback and the comments which will be noted. We hope to welcome you back to Dray Cottage one day. Kind regards Carole and Geoff. Property Owner

  • "Enjoyed the cottage, it had everything that we needed."

Pleased we did not have any one with us as it would be a bit small downstairs. A booking arrival time of 5pm and 9.30 am departure time was not ideal.

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad you enjoyed the cottage. Change over times are not set by us and if guests contact us we will always try to assist with getting in earlier if possible. Departure times are due to the need for cleaning in accordance with COVID protocols which still remain in place. Thanks again for your booking with us. Carole and Geoff Property Owner

  • "Lovely property in a great location."

. Really clean and comfortable.. Had everything we needed..we were a bit late checking out and due to this got to meet the owners (who had come to get property ready for next guests) and they were really friendly and understanding not pushy at all. A lovely couple.

Thank you for your kind feedback. It was nice to meet you and the family when we arrived to carry out the turn around for the next guests. We appreciated that you left the cottage in a nice state which always helps us. Hopefully we will see you again in the future. Take care and thanks for visiting us at Dray Cottage. Carole and Geoff. • "We had a wonderful stay in your cottage - thank you."

It is comfortable and in an excellent location. We had everything we needed, and appreciated the little touches such as soap etc; the cottage is beautifully decorated and spotless. One minor point - the parking spaces next to the river are not allocated to specific properties so it is first come first served; we always found a space along the river, but not always close to the house - fine for us but maybe not for everyone.

Thank you for your positive feedback. It is important for us that guests enjoy their holidays. We do the turnaround ourselves so we know its right for guests. As for parking the village is historic and as such vehicles were never priority. Parking is marked for residents only but unfortunately people dont always comply. There is as you say ample parking on the riverbank and we haven't had any reported problems. Thank you for your kind words and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

About the location

WARKWORTH

Alnwick 5 miles; Alnmouth 3 miles; Amble 1 mile.

Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
