  • "Another glorious week on the Northumberland coast."

Pebble Cottage’s unbeatable location is ideal for exploring the local area.

  • "A hidden gem."

Waking up to the sound of the waves from the bottom of the garden was the highlight. Lovely spot to sit and watch the sea from a great garden. The cottage itself is charming, very comfortable, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. Basic essentials weren't skimped on as they so often are....loo rolls, hand washes, a full basket of firewood, lots of beautifully soft (and large) towels were supplied. The bed linen was very comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful with lots of walks and a pub next door! All you need for a perfect stay.

  • "The location and scenery we have seen this week has been breathtaking , having said that."

I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of Pebble cottage. Firstly the mattress`es in the attic room are stained and smelly, the bedding was dirty also. The mattress on the double bed also stained. Lime scale on shower heads and feed pipes. Cobwebs in windows and round light fittings in the kitchen with resident dead flies. Kitchen floor has not been mopped for some time it is dingy. The Vacuum cleaner filters need to be cleaned it smells disgusting. Maintenance all around the Cottage is in need of updating( I do understand it is of some age. ) The gate at the of the bottom of the drive is not suitable as small dogs can get through. this was mentioned in a previous review and clearly not been addressed. we also knew there is a pub next door but the lack of privacy both in the garden and down stairs bathroom is not ideal. I understand that you let this Cottage to a variety of visitors but clearly 5 hours to fully clean and make available to the next guests is not adequate.Holiday Cottage`s even self catering must be of a high standard.

  • "Pebble Cottage was a delight."

It was like staying a home rather than a holiday cottage, which made our stay that much more relaxing. The location was stunning, with direct access to the beach and next door to the Fishing Boat Inn (nice atmosphere and great food). Alnmouth was a short drive with Alnwick also easily accessible. We don't hesitate to recommend Pebble Cottage.

  • "Fabulous cottage which was warm and comfy and right on the beach."

Walks galore on the doorstep. It felt very away from it all but in reality only 15 mins from Alnwick. Slight hiccup necessitated a quick call to the owners who were very responsive and sorted the issue immediately.

    The cottage, the location. Perfect

  • "Brilliantly located cottage with a very well appointed and equipped kitchen."

Large, comfortable, pet friendly lounge with a good selection of local guide books and other interesting reading matter. Generally clean and tidy throughout although the small balcony area and the back garden furniture both need some attention. The toilet in the small upstairs bathroom did not always flush successfully at the first time of asking. A minor problem with accessing the property on arrival (key safe box jammed) was dealt with quickly by the owner and their local contact, Val, so many thanks to them for that.

  • "This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Pebble Cottage and as usual we had a fantastic holiday, however, a little care and attention would go a long way to improving the property."

Plaster is falling off the wall in the downstairs shower room, thicker curtains would prevent sunlight entering the rear downstairs bedroom at 5am during the summer and some form of blackout fitted to the upstairs ceiling windows to again block the light during early morning sunrise.

Some parts of the cottage are a little tired and could do with some TLC, but overall it was cosy and comfortable and we felt very at home there. We hope to return soon.

We have stayed at this property/location both in the Summer and Winter, and both seasons deliver their own different, yet fabulous experience. We had such an amazing time that we booked up for next year before returning home. Faultless in every sense.

  • "The Cottage is warm cosy & comfortable & the views breathtaking."

It had everything we needed. We loved our time there. Just wandering up to the headland in the evening was special with the view of Dunstanburgh Castle in the distance, the bird life on the beach & the constant wildness of the North Sea. Perfect location for exploring the wider area so many wonderful beaches & castles.

  • "We've just had a lovely, cosy week in Pebble Cottage despite the storms ravaging the country!"

Even during the rain we had the lovely view of the beach and wading birds, and could walk for miles north and south along the beaches and coastal path. Brilliant!

  • "We have stayed in Pebble Cottage many times over the last 12 years so it feels a bit like coming home when we arrive."

It is good to know that it is still often used by the owner and his family - it is obviously well loved, and this adds to its friendly, cosy atmosphere. For us, coming from land-locked Bedfordshire, - being able to step right out onto the beach, or just to gaze at the sea and watch the wading birds for hours is a huge source of joy. We will be back.

  • "Having dogs we holiday in the Uk three or four times a year and have stayed in several cottages in Alnmouth and Warkworth but Pebble Cottage ticks ALL the boxes - location perfect for the beach, pub and the wonderful coast line."

The cottage has a real home from home feel as soon as you walk in the door, comfortable, well equipped and the comfiest bed we’ve ever slept in! Private parking and scure garden with stunning views at the back, and straight into the beach from the garden. All in all probably the most perfect cottage we have stayed in.

  • "A lovely comfortable cottage in a wonderful location."

It is well decorated and furnished with many personal touches. A bookcase strains at the seams with all manner of interesting books and there are dvds and games to suit all ages after a day exploring. I particularly liked the personal notes from the owner who is realistic about pet dogs! This was my second visit and won’t be the last hopefully.
