  • "I did feed this back to your customer service already."

The dishwasher is awful. The rotating arm can’t turn if dinner plates are on the bottom. The dishes are left with a film all over them. I cleaned the filter and it made no difference. We had no hot water Friday evening, most of Saturday and Sunday evening. I appreciate you sent someone out but there is clearly an issue with the timing of when it comes on. This was a challenge with a not properly functioning dishwasher. If you have autumn winter guests it would be nice to have a basket of logs for the wood burning stove or directions to where you could buy them locally. There is no grill pan for the oven .

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that your holiday didn’t your expectations. We have investigated as we want to make sure guests have the best experience. We supply a large amount of crockery including charger plates for setting the table As in any dishwasher the arm will not rotate if the plates that are put in the bottom drawer are bigger than the gap. The charger plates are too large for the dishwasher and must be washed by hand. All other sizes will fit and not cause any problem. Apologies if you didn’t realise The timer on the hot water should be set to come on in the evening and morning and there is an immersion if you need emergency hot water as well as an electric shower to ensure that there is an instant option. There are instructions in the cottage guide should you have problems or emergency numbers. I am sorry that this finished your experience. In terms of the grill pan thank you for letting us know as there was one and we have asked the agents to replace asap. We hope you had a safe trip home and at least enjoyed some of your time away. • "Our only negatives are more of a reflection on previous occupants than the accommodation."

The kitchen bin hadn't been emptied and was full of rubbish and the dishwasher was full of dirty crockery. Both the recycling and outdoor bin were full. So we emptied the bins and ran the dishwasher. The house itself was lovely and everything we needed it to be for our stay - would definitely recommend. Suggestion to maybe make more of a point to the people making the booking about the expectation to put the bins out for collection on Wednesdays. We looked it up in the folder but the collection calendar was from 2023 and when we put the postcode in online it couldn't give us the collection date. So we put both bins out and the recycling was emptied. But the rubbish bin will be too full for anyony else to be using really (it was basically at the top before we arrived and our 2 bags of rubbish then filled it).

Thank you for such a lovely review I can apologise for the bin and the dishwasher issue and will let the agents know immediately, as well as updating the schedule We are really glad you love Northumberland. It’s such a beautiful area and hope you had the best holiday Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay in 11 the granary ."

.it was in a great location quiet with pleasant views from the garden . Beds were very comfy .. kitchen well equipped..Nice hot showers. We would love to come back . Had a problem closing one of the windows which was quickly rectified . Only one bad comment wheelie bins were full when we arrived so had to take garbage to waren campsite to dispose looked like hadn't been empty for a while . but Didn't spoil our holiday just a bit inconvenient.

Thanks for the review and we are really glad you enjoyed the house. Northumberland is so beautiful and we hope you return to our house or another in the area as there is so much to enjoy Apologies about the bins - we rely on residents putting them out each week. We will speak to the agents to see what others are doing in this instance as we really want you to have the best time when you stay with us Property Owner

  • "Hi I would like to speak to someone in regard to our stay at the Granary please?"

I have left two messages but heard nothing back. We left a day early as we could not settle due to the invasion of privacy and unclean downstairs. Please contact me asap. I have been using Northumbria Cottages for over 8 years and stayed in this property before but it was a very different experience this time. I would like to explain my disappointment in detail if someone can contact me please? Kind regards Suzanne Adgar

Suzanne. Please can you explain in more detail about your disappointment. Really sorry to read that you did not have a happy stay at The Granary. Have you had the chance to discuss this with Sykes cottages? Best Regards Jeremy ( owner) Property Owner

  • "Myself and 6 friends had the most wonderful weekend at Bundle Granary."

It's the perfect size for a group of 7 with lots of space in the living and kitchen/dining room. It's very cosy even on cold days. The building itself has lots of character and is very close to the beach. Just a few things to be aware of, you need to bring your own toilet roll and toiletries including soap for some of the bathrooms. We would have preferred if these were provided. Also the mugs appeared to have been soaked in bleach and not rinsed so we had to re wash everything we drank out of. These are, however, minor practical points and we would absolutely recommend staying at the house and hope to come back in the future.

Ruth, Thanks for your valuable feedback and all of these comments have now been actioned. We have also replaced all of the towels with much larger cozy ones, especially useful in winter. Regards Jeremy Property Owner

  • "Lovely property in a great location, very clean and comfortable kitchen excellently equipped and we all enjoyed our stay in Budle Bay."

But we were surprised to discover there were no rubbish bags no bags for laundry no toilet rolls and I found the towels though serviceable were smaller than I expected in such a property.

John, Sorry to read you review about the standard of the cleaning and amenities. I have actioned with Sykes properties and hope that it did not spoil your holiday. Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay."

Thank you so much. The only constructive feedback is it would have been nice to have a hairdryer. Seemed to have everything else! The bed in the puffin bedroom was very creaky and could do with an oil or something.

  • "We found the property itself excellent and very comfortable."

Overall well equipped but with one or two omissions ie no dustpan and brush and no mop and bucket for cleaning. The mattress protection cover was found to be stained when I stripped the bed there were also quite a few cobwebs down the wall in the lounge area and the cupboard under the sink had not been wiped out and was damp but we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hopefully will come back again.

Stuart Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I have actioned all of your comments with Sykes properties and these will be rectified as this is not acceptable. I am baffled as to what has happened to the mop and dustpan but all have now been replaced. I hope that you are able to return and you see a marked change to the cleaning standard. Property Owner

  • "A lovely property with plenty of room."

Everything you require in a home is supplied. Just a little out of the way for shopping if you are going to self cater. Nearest large store is the Co-op in Seahouses otherwise you have to go to Alnwick. Could not have asked for a better property, enjoyed by all the family.

Easy walk to a fabulous coast and so many other walks and places to visit. It truly is a magnificent county. The Granary was great for 8 people and everything was there that we needed. Also spotlessly clean. Will definitely be back.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
