  • "Lovely stay for family of 5."

Everything including parking accurately described. Lacks its own outdoor space but definitely made up for by wonderful location. Easy access to local pub and shops. Thank you for having us. Problem with heating before we left.

Thank you for your review. I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you back some day. Becky Property Owner

  • "The cottage was excellent but the parking was extremely tight and if the people opposite us in their cottage hadn’t polite enough to move their car whilst I parked I wouldn’t have been able to park."

Seahouses is well worth a visit but parking all over the town is tight, however there is plenty of parking spaces you can pay for. Worth going.

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you liked Seahouses and hopefully you got to explore more of the coastline on your stay. Property Owner

  • "We've just got back from a 3 night stay and can honestly say loved the cottage thought the location was superb and it was immaculate with everything you could need."

Obviously the only problem is the parking I could get my small van into the space but was worried about getting blocked in so I just moved it into the main car park in the village which wasn't a problem just a bit extra cash than I expected to say but the parking problem isn't just for this cottage it's Obviously in the whole village. We will definitely be back thank you

Thank you for your feedback. I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I think you got some good weather as well! We look forward to welcoming you back so you can explore the area some more. Becky Property Owner

  • "The house and location were perfect."

However, the holiday was marred by parking issues. The house is listed as having parking described as tight - its almost impossible to get into the narrow space between the houses, and we were mostly blocked in and could not get out. On our last day, a neighbour described the animosity towards the owners of No 30, as the parking space was actually a cut through from the next road, seemingly annexed by them for visitors. In the Visitors Book, a guest described their car as being "Keyed" during their stay and so we were worried the same could happen to ours. Neighbours also used the bins, and simply walked off when challenged. It all made for a very tense atmosphere, and although we loved Seahouses, we would not go back to that cottage. We were informed by the neighbours that an annual parking ticket could be had, relatively cheaply, for the public car park and most people provided them for their visitors. Perhaps this would alleviate the situation.

Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that your holiday was marred by the parking issues. While we have only owned the house for 18 months we have always found a real community with the neighbours and are in regular touch with everyone in the courtyard. The houses were built, all with allocated parking in the deeds which includes ours. We have tried to be as clear as we can regarding the small parking space. However, due to the feedback we have now changed the property listing to say no parking or on street parking only. On the positive I am glad you loved the house and the location and Seahouses as a place. We love it as well. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house and a nice welcome pack that really personalised the place."

Really good quality of fixtures and fittings and the decoration is lovely. Really well done. I would definitely stay again. I know everyone talks about the parking and it really is a pain. I do wonder whether you just need to be more up front about it as it’s the first experience you have which could be quite negative. In our case the space was clear but as there was a car parked in front of the house the turning circle was too tight. We just parked in the public carpark which wasn’t an issue. Outside bin was also full and had not been put out which meant we had to take our rubbish to the bins in town.

Thank you for your lovely comments and I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay. It is certainly my happy place. We have tried to be as clear as possible regarding the parking in the property details however I appreciate that this is in the long list of information about the property and may get missed. I have taken on your suggestion and adding extra information into the Welcome Folder to hopefully help - so thank you. I have also contacted the booking company about the bins. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

  • "I think the parking should come with a warning."

We've stayed in cottages with similar issues and they have had schemes where free car parking is available elsewhere, within a 10 minute walk, included with a permit. The council in Seahouses might offer such a thing? Apart from that, no real complaints. There was the issue with the door and then the TV aerial but they were resolved. I have given separate feedback to Sykes to say it would have been better to have been able to speak to someone in the first instance to know that the issue would get resolved that day/night, just to put us at ease. On the whole, really well maintained but one or 2 small issues as I left in the book. Also, I am a stickler when it comes to the build up of dust on bathroom extractor fans - please check. We loved our stay, a beautifully placed, spacious house!

Thank you for your feedback and thank you for the understanding with the door and aerial issues you encountered. I am pleased they were sorted. It was a pleasure to have you and your family stay. Property Owner

  • "Such a beautiful place to stay in the lovely Seahouses!"

30 Union Street was warm, cosy and welcoming with gorgeous modern features and also some older personalised touches, which made our stay really enjoyable. It’s a very roomy house, with large bedrooms and plenty of space for our family of 6 plus a dog! We didn’t use the log fire with our young children but could imagine that would add to the atmosphere further. The parking wasn’t an issue for us, we just parked in Seahouses and walked the two minutes to the house…just meant we got our steps up a little more. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would love to return! Thank you so much for such a wonderful holiday!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We love it in Seahouses and feel blessed to have a house there. It brings us such pleasure when people feel the same. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "I cannot get over the car parking issue, hence the harsh marking."

The decor and cleanliness is amazing but you simply have no parking - except for motorbikes - and if you are not more honest about this your reviews will hold you back. There is so much I could say here about that subject but you have provided a lovely place to stay so would rather not write volumes about it!

I'm delighted you enjoyed the house but obviously disappointed you had an issue with the parking. We are trying to resolve the issue with parking opposite our space. We have changed the information to say small car space only so I appreciate your feedback on this. Property Owner

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay!"

One small issue was that we arrived at 3:15pm (confirmation said we could check-in from 3pm) and the cleaners showed up at 3:20pm! They said they didn't think we would be there till 4? We waited outside for 40 minutes which was a bit disappointing after a 6.5 hour journey. They did a good job of cleaning but the floors were left wet so we were quite behind on our plans for the evening when we finally got in! They were nice and apologetic so it wasn't a major disaster, just a little bit disappointing when we were tired. The fridge also may need a look at as it doesn't appear to be cooling as it should. All up, the cottage is in a lovely spot and very nicely maintained. The car park is very tight but we managed ok and the neighbours were helpful in moving their car for us. The beds are comfortable, the sofa and living area is also very nice and comfortable and the kitchen was spacious. We liked the included doggy treats and board games as well! Would highly recommend a stay here!

Thank you so much for your feedback and my apologies it has taken a little while to respond. Thank you for the information about the fridge which I believe is all sorted now. Glad your dogs enjoyed the treats. Property Owner

  • "The house was lovely inside - and you can see Becky and Tim's recent investments."

Plenty of hot water for showers is great after a day at the beach! The kitchen/diner/lounge was a great space for us as a family. Rooms are a nice size and it feels very light and airy upstairs. The beds are also very comfortable and offered a great night's sleep. The downside is parking. If you have a family, need access to your car without the constant headache of playing car jenga and worry about whether or not you'll be able to leave (we were regularly blocked in by Hexham Cottage which clearly states on street parking on its listing) then this may not work for you.

Thank you for your feedback and I am pleased you enjoyed your stay despite the car jenga. We loved making the house a home and can't wait to go and enjoy it ourselves next month. Property Owner

  • "Great house very comfortable."

Has everything you need for a holiday. However, the bins outside wasn’t emptied before or while we were there and rubbish was piling up, will eventually cause a smell. Parking outside not great, relies on goodwill of other people in the street. The space allocated to the house is small and hampered by people parking in street and scaffolding on next door property.

Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted you liked the house and found it comfortable. The bin situation should now be sorted with updated instructions in the manual and the house cleaners keeping an eye on the situation as well. We have also spoken to the owners of Hexham cottage to ask their clients not to park opposite. As you say there is goodwill among people staying in Seahouses as it is a very friendly place. We look forward to welcoming you back. Becky and Tim Property Owner

  • "Nice clean property in a great location."

Parking space was almost impossible to use due to its size, other cars parked close and scaffolding although we found good parking available on Union street.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you liked the property and we are thrilled with the location so happy that worked for you to. Re the parking it is a tight spot and although we can get our 4x4 in there we do rely on people not parking opposite the entrance. Our signage is obviously only a small deterrent so we have asked the owners of Hexham Cottage to asks their clients not to park opposite so hopefully that will help. Anyway we hope that you will pay us a return visit sometime soon. Becky and Tim Property Owner

Follow the coast to the sandy shores of the Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve or the breath-taking Bamburgh Beach which is backed by its spectacular castle; be sure to tour the castle before stopping at Bamburgh Lighthouse and the RNLI Museum.
