• "The property was good value for money, in a great position and has a lovely, bright and large lounge."

  Kitchen is small, dark but adequate and well-equipped. Bathroom, like the kitchen has no natural lighting but has a good shower. The towels provided were small and basic quality. The bedroom is functional but as there are windows into both the kitchen and bathroom, if one of us got up to go to the bathroom during the night or before the other woke, the light would affect the other. There was a damp smell and we had to wash everything when we got home. Owners were really friendly and helpful.

  Hi Alan Thank you for your comments we like to listen and learn from our guests including your review and try our best to sort any issues ASAP. Regarding the towels I have now added some larger towels as asked for by yourselves . I’m afraid the kitchen size we can’t change although with the light on it’s very very bright as in the photos and modern and clean perfectly functional. We have had no complaints. Blinds have now been installed and it’s extremely dark now and the guests now struggle to wake up early lol . We did notice on entering the property the heating was extremely hot and found the dial at 30 degrees maybe this was the problem as we cannot find a damp smell at all and the wardrobe is fine as some towels were in recently for guests for a two week stay and I’ve just picked them up and the towels don’t smell at all !! only of fabric conditioner. • "Lovely apartment just a short walk from town with plenty of places to eat."

  Very reasonably priced compared with similar apartments in the area. Apartment is very comfortable with all the necessary facilities.Town has a metro line to take you into Newcastle and onward to other locations if you don't want to drive. At the Metro station there is a market every Saturday and Sunday. Parking is free all week around the green outside the apartment and only £3 a day at the weekends if you are not going out. The owners are lovely people and are very helpful if you need to contact them. All in all a great place to stay.

• "Location was perfect for us."

  Cottage was very clean and comfortable with beautiful furnishings. It was also a pleasure to meet the owners: Pauline and Derek. We will definitely return as we love the coastline around that area and there’s lots to do.

• "The apartment is in a very convenient position close to all the amenities."

  Local transport, bus and Metro. Such lovely scenery to discover and amazing beaches. Grand Sea View is an amazing apartment well equipped and very modern. You would not be disappointed in staying there. Pauline and Derek are so welcoming and friendly.

• "We had a lovely stay at Grand Sea View over Christmas."

  It was such a warm welcome to find a Christmas Tree and lovely decorations and a festive table laid! The flat was warm, clean and very comfortable. We will definitely come back as we have family living nearby. They thought we had found a perfect place for us to stay!

• "Great place to stay location is perfect for beaches, restaurants and bars."

  The apartment is bright and spacious, with everything you need if you decide to dine in. We spoke to Pauline who gave us some good tips for dining out. Tynemouth has some really good restaurants but the best one for use was Riley’s Fish Shop.

• "A beautiful property in a great location."

  The ground floor flat was ideal for us as we are in our mid 70’s It was beautiful and clean and so handy for everything. We only moved our car once, to visit the National Trust property. We walked miles along the beautiful sea front and on occasions caught the regular bus back. We came home very tired but would highly recommend this beautiful place. Thank you from us both

• "Comfortable, well maintained property with great views of the sea."

  Short walk to the sea front where you can watch the surfers in action. Sadly didn't see any dolphins but lots of seals at St Mary's Lighthouse

Grand sea view is a stone’s throw from the beach so very handy for walks . Also the dolphins are hard to find but they’re is a local dolphin watch to follow on Facebook called cullercoat’s dolphin watch which can make sighting them easier if your back up in the area again . • "Supberb property."

  Spotlessly clean throughout. Had everything you could possibly need in every respect. Straightforward key collection, good instructions for appliances, games, books, magazines all available. The furnishings were super comfortable with a variety of throws and cushions. The bedroom was small and it would be a bit of a squeeze for two. This is the only critique I have for this property. Location really is the best you can get, buses run regularly, there is a metro station. Lots of small shops to browse around, cafes and restaurants, cocktail bars. I would highly recommend Sunday lunch at the Grand Hotel opposite the apartment, which is a bonus as you have only yards to stagger back after consuming an epic 3 course lunch with a bottle of wine at a very reasonable price of £75 for 2.

• "We really enjoyed our stay at Grand Sea View."

  It was very comfortable, well equipped and well maintained. It was ideally located, close to the beach and the village centre. It was also well located for the market at Tynemouth Station. We would certainly book the property again.

• "Nice, simple and comfortable."

  Front room splendid - though an extra lamp would have been appreciated. Think of fitting a grip to the wall by the shower (us old folk....!). Lovely and quiet at night.

• "We stayed for 3 weeks as we needed a temporary base close to family and Northumberland to relax, and couldn’t have picked a more welcoming place."

  Check in was super easy, contact free and the owners made sure everything was provided upon arrival. The kitchen was well equipped, the interiors were extremely tasteful, it was warm, very clean and the bedroom was so comfortable, There are plenty of good walks around the area, It’s rare to stay somewhere that feels like a home, but Grand sea View did. Every detail seems to have been thought of to make your stay hassle-free. It was very peaceful there, we didn't want to leave and we can’t thank you enough for your hospitality!

• "The property location is excellent, being just 200m from Tynemouth Longsands beach, so perfect for sea walks."

  We took our bikes and enjoyed the 20mile round-trip between North Shields quay and Blyth. The apartment itself is beautifully finished, well-equipped and cleanly presented. The owners respond quickly if there are any issues. Without doubt this is one of the best holiday rentals we have ever used.

• "The description of accomadation said king size bedroom was misleading it leads one to believe it had a king size bed ."

  As I have a broken shoulder my husband and I need the extra space to sleep in l booked the appt expecting a large bed the bedroom is not king size would describe it as a small double this meant we had very uncomfortable sleep.I would not have booked the appt had I knowing did not have a large bed

• "Perfect location, peaceful, with lovely sea views ideal for walking Coastal Path."

  10 mins walk to metro with direct link to Newcastle Central Station national rail connections. We enjoyed a day in Edinburgh which only took 1.5hrs. Grand Hotel accross the green is lovely for coffee or drinks. Longsands Fish Kitchen highly recommended. Bed was very comfortable. clean towels provided mid-way through our stay was a bonus. Accommodation is well equipped & spacious however a power shower would be an improvement but not essential all in all highly recommended
