  • "Charming cottage with outstanding location."

Overall property good, but cramped, particular main bedroom.

  • "Great cottage and fantastic location."

The only minor detail from us would be that the main bedroom mattress should be firmer. We had a lovely short break!!

  • "Wonderful cottage in an amazing location!"

Our second visit to this great cottage and it won’t be our last. Since we were there is January Katja has had a fabulous new kitchen fitted and the view down to the sea seems even more spectacular. Located only minutes from the very beautiful Embleton beach. Great place to stay and lots of dog friendly walks right from the doorstep.

The cottage is great. Exactly as described The location is fantastic. A slightly bigger bed would just make this cottage 100% perfect!!

  • "Fantastic cottage with fabulous views in an amazing location!"

Great shower, comfy bed, cosy lamps, super wood burner and only a few minutes walk from stunning Embleton beach. Watching the sun rise behind Dunstanburgh Castle, truly magical! We’ve already booked our next trip. Thank you for everything Katja!

  • "A lovely, cosy cottage in a fantastic setting."

We took the dog for a few days away and couldn’t have hit on a better place. Everything we needed was in the cottage and there was easy access to the beach. It can be frustrating when the house rules say no dogs in certain rooms with no way to really enforce it but in this case the doors all latched properly so we had no problem at all. Highly recommend

Thank you to Katja for letting us know the Aurora Borealis had been spotted in the skies early evening of 5th November. Our first time seeing the northern lights, we got some lovely photos, which made our trip!

  • "The cottage was cosy and comfortable."

It was smaller than we thought and if there were 4 people there wasn’t a lot of storage room especially in the small bedroom. We used this bedroom for our clothes. The location is amazing fabulous beach and walks from the doorstep.

It is very close to the best beaches in the UK and pubs, village shop etc. We have been staying in holiday cottages for over 30 years and Beachward is right up there. We would recommend this beautiful cottage without hesitation.

The property

Settled into the coastal village of Embleton, Beachward is a beautiful stone-built cottage within easy reach of the local beach, making it a fantastic property for a family who wish to explore the more rural side of Northumberland.

With a picturesque exterior and quaint neighbouring cottages, be welcomed into this property as you park off-road and unpack with ease.

Single storey, all of the rooms can be found on the ground floor, beginning with the sitting room, where you will be welcomed by the glow of a woodburning stove, where wooden flooring stretches throughout, and crisp white décor complements a stylish tartan sofa.

When mealtimes call, head over to the kitchen, and make the most of a selection of home-from-home amenities, and you can enjoy mealtimes at the dining table beside double glass doors, opening up onto an enclosed courtyard garden, ideal for morning coffee in the sunshine.

As the day draws to a close, enjoy a refreshing shower before cosying up in one of the two bedrooms, a double with sea views and a bunk room, great for children.

Embleton is a lovely seaside location with great amenities, including a local beach, which is under a mile from the property and offers spectacular countryside views of Dunstanburgh Castle and expanses of white sand, and there is a coastal path running from here to Amble, or down towards the castle and beyond.

Embleton enjoys a local convenience store and a pub where you can dine out, however, if you travel to Alnwick there is a greater variety of eateries as well as an impressive castle.

Make a family holiday to remember with a stay at Beachward.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

EMBLETON

Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
