  • "Lovely cottage."

The enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs which was a huge plus. The cottage itself was comfortable and lovely and had everything one could need. There are enjoyable walks on the doorstep, and of course the splendid beaches of Embleton and Beadnell are just minutes drive away. Would definitely recommend this property. In fact, will probably rebook next year.

I was working 12-14 hours 6 days a week, and it was a lovely place to call home for the month. Also access to A1!

  • "Avery unclean cottage."

Front door cracks in the frame so letting in light. Bathroom very poor. The shower glass over the bath did not sit on the bath run so letting water drip onto floor. Bath taps lose again quantise of water spilt onto floor. Electrics kept tripping g. Freezer box in fridge totally frosted up so freezer bos poor. Basically a very unkept cottage and in my view over priced. Not a happy couple. The worst cottage we have stayed in. Would not recimmend this. Outrage.

I am very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay and that the accommodation didn’t meet your expectations. It is a great shame that you didn’t get in touch during your stay to highlight your concerns so that we could have helped rectify some of these issues. Kind regards, Catriona Moore. Property Owner

  • "We loved our holiday in this cottage."

The weather was good so we spent time in the fabulous garden with our greyhounds. The cottage is far more spacious than it looks from the outside. The road was busier than usual due to a temporary diversion but in the evening the place was quiet and peaceful. There’s a lovely walk down a wooded path opposite the cottage. The scenery in the area is glorious and hearing the pigs and wildlife is a bonus. Looking forward to coming back next year!

  • "Our stay here was great!"

We loved the cottage and its location is fabulous with dark skies at night and wonderful countryside all around. The cottage is within easy driving distance of all our favourite Northumberland ‘must visits’ and we took full advantage of that during the week. The owner is very approachable and helpful, and she had left a few goodies for us to enjoy during the stay. The cottage was very clean and comfortable if a little cold downstairs as both storage heaters had minor defects. To supplement the ground floor heating though there was ample coal for the open fire. Upstairs was lovely and toasty and the beds very comfortable. This cottage is ticked off for a second visit in due course.

About the location

EMBLETON

Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
