  • "Misleading to call it a cottage,however, it’s very nice accommodation in a lovely town."

    Only negative is the lack of towels, one hand and bath towel each is not enough. It is not very nice to reuse the same towels for 5 days and no facilities to wash them.

  • "We enjoyed a lovely stay at Nene’s Nest and found it very cosy."

    The large bed was extremely comfortable and the accommodation is in a quiet area with very little traffic noise. It is a great base to explore the area and is only a 15 minute walk into Alnwick centre. We definitely plan to return

    The property has been beautifully furnished and decorated by the owners. There was everything we wanted at the property, very clean and comfortable. Denise was always at hand should we need anything but at the same time we had absolute privacy. We would have no hesitation in returning to the property.

  • "The property was in the ideal location in Alnwick for seeing all the attractions ..."

    The property was in the ideal location in Alnwick for seeing all the attractions in the town ,the town also has a good selection of pubs and restaurants and shops ,if you have transport there's also lots of sites you can visit within a hours drive,also if you are into walking its also a great location, the property was very comfortable and Ian & Denise were very friendly and approachable, thanks again Andy & Linda

  • "Gorgeous little annex, spotlessly clean, had absolutely everything we needed."

    The bed was amazing, the whole property is thoughtfully presented. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner was on hand if needed and very friendly. A great base for all the surrounding areas, some great restaurants and bars in Alnwick.

    It's cosy and perfectly suited our needs. This was an ideal base for cycling out to the beautiful coast and countryside - and some fantastic nature reserves for birdwatching. A great place to stay.

  • "We had a great stay at Nenes Nest."

    The kitchen was well equipped should you want to cook a meal and the sofa was very comfortable. It was good having a TV in the lounge and bedroom so we could watch different things. The bed was so comfortable, I have neve slept so well in a bed other than my own and the shower was excellent. Having the small patio outside was also useful to have so you could soak up some sun if you wanted. The location was excellent for exploring Northumberland, such as Bamburgh, Cragside and Alnwick itself. Cleanliness was excellent. Overall I would highly recommend.

    Central to all amenities. Short walking distance to town centre and new retail park. Owners couldn't be helpful enough with any queries and advice about the local places to eat and visit. Highly recommended and hope to stay again.

  • "A quiet and relaxing place to stay which is very well equiped."

    It's only a 10 - 15 minute walk along a quiet street to the town centre which has all the shops and eating places you might need. Best feature...the most confortable bed and pillows I have ever had the pleasure to sleep in.

  • "Really comfortable space that has been renovated and presented at a high standard."

    The kitchen is really well equipped - like a home from home. The bed is enormous and really comfortable. The rainfall shower was very good. Everything was incredibly clean. The Nest is located slightly out of town but, it's an easy walk to the centre. Parking is right outside and was always available. We really enjoyed our stay in Northumberland and would definitely return. Thank you!

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike; for even more excitement, the enchanted world of Lilidorei is also available at Alnwick Gardens, offering seasonal events and plenty of fun for little ones of your group. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market.
