  • "Needs a cafetiere which the local agency very kindly brought over Saturday morning."

A little bit more firewood would have been great, but not a deal breaker and appreciate that wood is pretty pricey atm. Lovely spacious property, but a floor plan would be helpful on listing so as to understand the layout of bedrooms and bathrooms.

Hi Stephen, thanks very much for your review. We have purchased a new cafeteria, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Also we will get a floor plan done as realise how this could help people plan. Hope you enjoyed your weekend, thanks again. Property Owner

  • "Even better than we imagined (new garden furniture/barbeque and wood burner)."

Fantastic location. Private surroundings but within easy access of all the local attractions and within walking distance of Bambrough village beaches and castle. Really cannot wait to return.

Hi, thank you so much for the fabulous review, it is much appreciated. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Property Owner

  • "Superb cottage in stunning location."

Well equipped and gorgeous decor. Fabulous for our family celebration. Only fault was that some of the wooden garden furniture was rotten and unusable. Would return in a heartbeat though.

Thank you for your kind comments, great to hear you enjoyed your stay. Apologies concerning the garden furniture, it was something we where aware of with replacements on back order which have now arrived Property Owner

  • "Fabulous clean and comfortable house."

Great beds and views to die for! Wonderful location in easy reach of resources Some serving spoons, side plates and more wine glasses would have been good, waste paper bins in the bedrooms Also 3 dishwasher tablets and one j cloth was a little inadequate. We like to eat in and resorted to washing up! These are minor issues but worth some thought Overall we were delighted with the property and enjoyed our stay in Northumberland. Thank you

Good to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Chimney, and thank you for your kind comments and feedback with reference to items that would have improved your stay We will act on your recommendations and provide these items and ask our management company to provide more cleaning products Thanks Again Property Owner

  • "Beautiful property and stunning location with beautiful views of castle Plenty of secure off-road parking spaces A floor plan would be helpful before arrival, unless I missed it Bedding and towels all very clean and white All beds very comfortable Everyone slept well all week Living room settees very comfortable and excellent quality of furnishings throughout the property in all rooms Snug room fantastic for our teenager and comfortable and warm Loved the kitchen layout and big fridge freezer and ice on tap."

Fabulous! A little bit disappointed with welcome pack. No milk/ bread or cold items Utility room facilities brilliant. Excellent washer and tumble dryer A few cobwebs in some areas but expected for the location Strong drain smells, particularly in upstairs main bathroom and downstairs shower room Kitchen extractor fan didn’t work nor did lights above it A fabulous stay for our family We really enjoyed it all and will return and will definitely recommend Thank you

Thank you for your kind comments and taking the time to provide feedback We will have someone look at the extraction fans and we agree the welcome pack would benefit from the inclusion of milk and bread Apologies for the drain smell which sometimes happens when the waste traps are not re-fitted correctly after been cleaned, so I will ask the cleaners to look out for that Thanks again for bringing these points to our attention and for your recommendation, it is much appreciated. • "An amazing property - 1 mile walk into Banbury although it is down Lucker Road with no pedestrian walkway."

The cottage was amazing with all the amenities you could need. The weather was a tad unkind, but when there is such a lovely haven to return to at the Chimney it was wonderful. A real shame there were no clear night skies as there is even a telescope to explore the Northumbrian galaxy

Really glad you enjoyed your stay thank you for your kind comments Property Owner

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
