  • "Beautiful and well equipped cottage in a lovely quiet area within reasonable access of lots of attractions."

We really appreciated the delicious bread, marmalade and eggs on arrival. There is also a box containing laminated sheets of brilliant Northumbrian walks which we used several times. Note that if you need to charge an EV, there are no details in the welcome pack about location, costs etc and it was hard to find the charger (eventually tracked it down in one of the barns). You will also need to bring your own cables.

  • "The Garden Room was the perfect place for a quiet relaxed holiday."

The property was spotless and all the possible needs were catered for. The hosts Hugo and Annabelle made us very welcome with a lovely welcome pack of fresh eggs, homemade bread, marmalade and a beautiful vase of flowers from their garden. The visits to the bird feeders next to the windows of so many different types made interesting watching. The house was very conveniently situated for excursions. A lovely time indeed.

  • "Our second stay at the Garden Room."

Very pleasant stay. Owners very helpful, but not intrusive. Lovely welcome pack of eggs, home made marmalade and bread. Cleanliness spot on. Only downside was chairs in lounge area. As older folks, we found them too low, so more difficult to get up from! The property was well situated for visiting many places in the Northumberland area.

Although at first glance it may seem out on a limb we found it ideal for the parts of Northumberland we wished to revisit and new ones to discover. All in all one of the best and perhaps the best cottage we have ever stayed in.

The EV charger made things a lot easier rather than having to hunt around for one. Within walking range of a shop and a pub but being on the edge of the village it's in a very quiet location.

The owner Hugo came and welcomed us, we did not meet his wife Annabelle. The welcome pack was very nice and the home made marmalade the best we have ever tasted. We hope to be back. A word of caution, fueling stations are few and far between, so if you are getting a bit low, fill up in Hexham or Corbridge. Robert and Sandra Hird.

It was equipped with everything you could need and was always toasty warm with plenty of hot water despite 2 named storms coming our way! Annabelle and Hugo were excellent hosts who left lovely little extras on our arrival such as home made bread and fresh eggs from their chickens. Hugo even popped round with some torches the night of the storm in case the power failed - which it didn’t.
