  • "Great house in a hard to beat location with fantastic views of Bamburgh Castle."

A brief stroll to the beautiful Northumberland coast. Clean and comfortable and extremely well equipped. Good welcome pack. Liked it so much we have booked another week.

  • "Beautiful property in stunning location."

Very well equipped rooms and extremely comfortable beds. We particularly enjoyed the large upstairs sitting room where we spent many happy hours relaxing and playing games. A house that you loved coming home to.

  • "The location of the Wynd to the park and beach and the views it provides to the castle enhanced our stay ."

The level of cleanliness and and all the equipment were excellent and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. There a few minor things that I would suggest A mirror opposite the gate would assist safer exit from the property by car. The dartboard could be fixed to the wall in the garage . When my son in law removed a dart from the board the board fell towards him. Luckily he wasn't injured. I would describe the property as high end of self catering , however I don't think having to take your own handwash for the multiple bathrooms and the kitchen is in tune with a high end facility. It was delightedful to spend a celebration weekend at the Wynd with our children and grandchildren, and we would all be happy to return to the property I hope you found these comments helpful.

  • "We had a fabulous weekend in this lovely property in a fantastic location."

The property was excellent for our group gathering to celebrate a special birthday. Lots of large open spaces with spectacular views which promoted spending time together in the same room and generated excellent memories. The property facilitated a wonderful stay for myself and 7 friends offering everything we needed.

  • "Lovely house in a wonderful location."

Two single beds in one of the downstairs rooms would have suited us better than a double for two of the children. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay & would recommend the property.

A lovely location, beautiful house, just can't beat it. Thank you.

  • "Beautiful, comfortable cottage with a fabulous view of Bamburgh Castle."

We had a lovely holiday. Perfect location for multiple generations with plenty of space and a well equipped kitchen. We loved the outdoor space and wildlife on our doorstep. A stones throw away from Bamburgh beach and children’s play area around the corner. We were a bit disappointed that there were no toys or games for the younger guests - something which has been available in other similar family friendly properties we have stayed in. We also felt that although the property was clean and well maintained, it had not been cleaned with ‘attention to detail’ before our arrival. We hope to return to your beautiful cottage one day. Not sure if other guests have already reported that the hoover wire was damaged and one of the doors on the en suite shower had come off the runners. We hope to return to your lovely cottage one day. Thank you.

  • "We have stayed in holiday cottages for over 40 years and this is one of the best we have stayed in, in terms of accommodation and location."

The photographs, descriptions and reviews were an accurate representation of the Wynd. Our mixed generation party thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. The above 4 lines are the review which I would be happy to be published. In terms of helpful comments for the owner I would say that the shower in the upstairs en suite did not work from day one. Once notified this was quickly dealt with but why was this not noticed before our holiday began? The top mattress of the bunk beds needed to be flipped over as a protruding spring made it uncomfortable to lie on .Again this was a minor inconvenience but could have been spotted earlier. Based on experience, if one of the double bedrooms was a twin room or had a zipped double mattress it would provide more flexible sleeping arrangements where parties include teenagers or young adults as the bunk beds cater better for younger children. I hope that these comments are useful. Thank you David.

  • "Lovely place to stay, comfortable, clean and with beautiful surroundings."

However provision of basic items was very disappointing. The kitchen was the only room with hand soap dispenser - there was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms. Also no spare toilet rolls were provided. With the number of people staying for a whole week, it was inevitable that they would run out. Likewise dishwasher tablets - 7 were provided, but with 9 or 10 people staying it's inevitable that the machine goes on more than once on some days. Neither of the items were available in the village stores, so this necessitated an extra trip to a nearby town. Given the cost of renting the property and that there was no warning that we needed to bring any of these items, we felt sufficient supplies should have been included.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
