  • "Lovely cottage in the grounds of the hotel."

The cottage was very clean, well appointed and bright and airy. The beds were comfortable and rooms quiet. The second bedroom is quite small so more suitable for children. The lounge was comfortable and the kitchen beautifully appointed. It was good having an upright fan for warmer days. There is a gravel area outside with a table bench. We liked that the hotels lovely lawned beer garden just a stroll away. We ate three times in the hotel. The food is very good and there was a special board most days. The staff are all very friendly and always made us feel very welcome. It is also just a short walk into Wooler where there are several hotels and restaurants. Milans Italian is great. Fish and chip shop and lovely shops. All in all an excellent base to explore Northumberland, would recommend.

  • "Cheviot is an immaculate, fresh, comfortable cottage."

I would live there if I could. There were more than enough pots, pans and crockery etc. Beds are super comfy, main bedroom bed is huge! Safe for furry children too You can eat in the pub if you don't fancy cooking I have absolutely no 'buts'. Fantastic base for travelling to attractions. I would definitely stay again

  • "This was our second stay at Cheviot and, once again, we were very happy with the accommodation; all appliances were in full working order and everything was clean and ready for use."

The lounge and kitchen areas were comfortable and the bedrooms had adequate storage and good beds. Wooler is a great location for all of the places you might wish to visit during your stay.

  • "The property was exactly as described, very comfortable and had everything we needed."

The shower is plentiful of hot water and the bed was very comfortable. It was -6 degrees whe we arrived and it would have been a benefit if the heating had been turned on prior to our arrival as the electric radiators took a while to heat up the space.

  • "Very well equipped and comfortable cottage."

Even though we only used the hotel restaurant once this was no reflection upon the standard of the meals available; the fact that the cottage is part of the hotel meant that we knew that we could eat there if we wanted to.

  • "A convenient rather than comfortable cottage."

A number of points to raise. Dining table and seats very poor. No storage place with only one small wardrobe in the whole cottage. Lounge seating not very comfortable. Good TV with Netflix was a plus. Large double bed was good, but could have been smaller and then a wardrobe provided. Recycling not very good and although we asked at the hotel what to do we did not receive an answer hence we left all plastics and tins behind. Plastic flowers should all be thrown away as it made the place look tacky. Carpet in the lounge would make the whole place feel warmer.

Cottage was nice and clean and very quiet. The hosts were very friendly and gave us some great advice on places to visit. We will definitely be back to Northumberland as there is so much to do and see.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well equipped, comfortable and attractive cottage."

Next to hotel which has good food and very friendly and helpful staff. Wooler shops only about a mile away. Would recommend this cottage as a good base for touring Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Alan and Lynne

  • "Couldn’t fault the cottage itself it was lovely and a great base for visiting Northumberland and the Borders but lacking in that absolutely nothing had been left over from other people it had been stripped bare we have always had things like kitchen roll, cling film, tin foil and numerous other bits left as do we leave things too."

It was the first time we hadn’t had a lovely welcome pack left for our arrival. Also there was not one instruction booklet left on the appliances or any books, games etc. All minor things but would have made a difference.

  • "Well equipped, quiet, clean and mostly comfortable (Dining table and benches rather basic)."

Good position on the edge of the town for walking in the Cheviot hills and visiting local attractions. Information about using appliances and recycling would be helpful.
