  • "Stackyard is a very pleasant place to stay of a week."

It has been built to a high standard and feels high quality. Rooms are all good sized and well-equipped. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and welcome gifts were a nice touch. We would certainly recommend it. Owners left us to ourselves but were on hand to help when required. Only two tiny things we can think of to improve it: Advise guests they need to bring adapters for shavers and electric toothbrushes Provide a little more information on local amenities and events.

  • "We had a lovely family holiday at The Stackyard with our two daughters their partners and two little dogs."

The property is huge so everyone had their own space. It is spotless and the owners have thought of everything. We met the owners and they were lovely friendly people. The garden space is amazing our two dogs loved playing in it and it was perfectly safe for them. Loved meeting the cute little alpacas and hens in the field opposite. So peaceful it really is the perfect place to unwind and destress. Could not fault this place at all 10 out of 10 from us. Would definitely recommend this property we didn’t want to leave will definitely visit again.

Previously went the adjoining one which wasn’t available this time. We weren’t disappointed as it was just as good. Beautiful property set in farmland in a nice little village with a couple of welcoming pubs. Owner was very friendly and helpful and we hope to return.

I've stayed in quite a few of these type of lodges, and must say this is best I've stayed in. Everything was thought of. We usually leave mid week when we book somewhere, but maid use of it till the last day. If I had to describe it in 3 words, beautiful, practical, and cozy.

The beds are very comfy, the sofa is comfortable enough for sitting for a short time and very modern but not great for lounging. Having the Larmas in the garden (outside the property) was a massive bonus they were so lovely. The lodge had everything you need for an amazing stay. Wouldn’t have any doubt in booking this again. Thanks so much

. very well equipped, ideally situated geographically for visiting numerous places. Property owners were very helpful. We loved the views from the property and the Alpacas, horses, chickens in the fields opposite. Hottub and fire pit were amazing especially at night whilst enjoying a glass of wine. • "Stayed at the Stackyard at Witton Hall Farm."

Unbelievable! The most amazing place we have stayed so far. The lodge is beautifully laid out and decorated with gorgeous views of the countryside. Arrived to a welcome pack of prosecco, chocolates, milk and fresh farm eggs which was a lovely touch and the eggs were beautiful! The lodge is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need in particular the kitchen area including BBQ utensils. The owner Chris and the rest of the team at site are fantastic and have been on hand any time we needed them. We had a minor issue with the hot tub not working correctly and within 15 minutes of notifying the owners, they were there to fix it. This is a suberb holiday rental with high quality living and sleeping areas, Beds very comfortable, great kitchen/dining area and all very high spec with quality amenities. There were 5 of us staying and all felt the space was brilliant with plenty of different areas to sit and not be on top of each other. Loved seeing the Alpacas and horses every day and feeding them apples and carrots. Outdoor space is spectacular to take in the beautiful views with a corner unit lounge by the outdoor BBQ and a seperate table and chairs with a built in fire pit. Plus the hot tub is fantastic with outdoor lighting and fairy lights over the tub. Amazing location, highly recommend. Plus the owners/managers really go ouy of their way to make you feel welcome. Amazing holiday had by all, thank you. We will book again specifically for here and highly recommend!x

  • "What an amazing property The StackYard is."

Me, my family and our Labrador spent a week here which was so enjoyable. Fantastic views over the countryside (and the alpacas!)…safe to say we fell in love with the place very quickly. It really does have the WOW factor. The owners supplied all of the essentials - soap, washing/dishwasher tablets, condiments and we also got a bottle of bubbly, chocolates and fresh eggs which was a lovely welcome for us. This is going to be a regular holiday spot for us…already booked to come back to another property on the same site it was that amazing!

The Stackyard is very modern and the facilities are fab. We loved waking up and seeing the alpacas and animals in the fields in front of us each morning, really added to the experience .The owners are very friendly and accommodating, they even left us a gift when we arrived which was a lovely touch. The location of the property is good, only a few minutes drive to Durham and 30 min drive to the beach. We had our dog with us for this holiday and the walks from the house are great. The local pub is also dog friendly and serves good food. The only negative which isn’t really a negative , is we found the bedding to be itchy , but that could be our personal preference.
