  • "Cottage was immaculate and in a beautiful setting over looking the lake."

Host had left a welcome pack, including a dog bag with a ball, this was a lovely touch. The only recommendation I would make is that the holiday park is huge and not well sign posted when you enter. It was extremely hard to find the cottage on the site and I had to ask in the on site pub for directions (which they weren’t even sure about). I appreciate this isn’t the host’s responsibility but the park itself could do with directional signage to the correct roads within. Thankfully I arrived in the day but it would have been virtually impossible to find in the dark. That said, we had a fabulous stay. The location is in a prime spot for exploring. I would imagine the site is very busy in the summer but I would definitely visit again at quieter times as that’s just my personal preference.

  • "Some of the info in the folder for visitors was out of date: still a 'covid menu' for the onsite restaurant."

Also I couldn't work out how to use the cooker. No information in the folder. I eventually Found instructions in a cupboard beside the iron! However, it was a lovely Lodge and I particularly loved the fact that it was in a beautiful position with lovely walks round the pond. I took many photos of swans, ducks, moorhens and the heron.

  • "Lovely lodge in a beautiful peaceful location."

Outside hot tub / table area very spacious, great my large dog too! Hot tub was fantastic, also a large size. Lots to see and do in the area, breathtaking beaches were my favourite. Only things I would say is the fridge needs replacing, as it kept freezing our food, if you turn the temp down, the ice cubes melted! Also, the bed mattresses are not great. With the lodge being a pet friendly accommodation, a hoover would have been appreciated too.

  • "This was the most cosy lodge we've stayed in, very clean and tidy."

Hot tub was clean, tidy and hot upon arrival. The shower door was broken and a few utensils in the kitchen were broke, a blind in the sitting room had a massive hole in it and we were inly provided with a single roll of toilet roll and we had to purchase more during our stay. Everything else besides these nit picky things was amazing and perfect for a quiet relaxing break away for a few nights it was great and we will defiantly be back!

  • "We had a great time at the log cabin and we found it to be clean, comfortable, and very suitable as a base for exploring the surrounding areas."

The hot tub was a welcome bonus. The only disappointment was the lack of variety on the food at the onsite Crazy Horse Saloon. However there are plenty of excellent places to eat in the surrounding areas. The Market Tavern in Alnwick is very welcoming and serves great food. The Fire House No.1 in Morpeth, homemade street food, from locally sourced produce this place is great for takeaway and the staff were very friendly. We would be happy to use this use this cabin again if we are in the area.

  • "Great cabin, a few things to pick, which i noticed on some other reviews, was 1 the fridge and the lack of shelving in main part of fridge and door, secondly the Tv, I know we were on holiday and the Tv shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but the cabin is in a part of the country were the weather can be unpredictable, so better Tv is required."

And lastly, the cooker fan was covered in Dust on the top of it, which need cleaning before we cooked.

Thanks for your comment. I am replacing the TV to as big as I can fit in given the capacity of the cabin. I have ordered replacement parts for the fridge and will contact Management regarding the dust. Thanks Property Owner

  • "The lodge is cosy and well equipped."

The wifi code wasn't in the welcome book but I texted the contact number and got a response straight away so this was sorted quickly. The hot tub was clean and tended to every morning. It would have been handy to have coat hooks and the tv was a bit on the small side but overall, it was a great break, lots to see and do in the area, friendly staff in the club house on site and the food was lovely. I would recommend this lodge to family and friends and hope to get back one day.

  • "The plates glasses and cutlery were dirty."

The exterior shed contained the cushions for outside seating, the door was broken in a way that made it impossible to open. I tried contacting the maintenance team but they never responded. Very disappointed The site restaurant and pub were shut and this was not advertised so we have to change our plans. The lodge itself was lovely and beautifully situated, But decorated in a comically bad way. We were also repeatedly harassed by a goose.

  • "Needs a shelf in the fridge."

A good fettle is needed generally in the lodge. Bigger TV needed.

Hi thanks for your comments. I am currently looking at replacing the fridge. It’s a specific size that’s needed. By “fettle” do you mean clean? The lodge is cleaned by a management company and if it is not up to scratch there is a number in the booklet please feel free to call them. I will pass on your comment too. As for the TV I didn’t want a TV to be the main focus in the room but I appreciate that guests may enjoy a larger TV. Thanks ☺️ Property Owner

  • "The lodge is lovely and in a beautiful location, wildlife on the doorstep."

We were unhappy that the hot tub was still too cold by 10pm on the 1st night at 34c so we lost a night in effect. The fridge is inadequate with no shelf! Food and drinks have to be piled up. Some twinkling lights outside would be amazing and also better small tables outside for putting drinks on. We will be back as we loved it so hopefully these improvements will be met or we will try another lodge. Thankyou

Thank you for you comments. I will contact the management team about the hot tub as I completely agree it should be hot enough for you to use on the first night. I take on board all your other comments and will aim to improve them Property Owner
