  • "Lovely property in a great location for us."

Unfortunately the beds were as bad as many of the reviews had suggested. For a high end property like this you need to buy new beds so we can’t feel the springs coming through the mattress…that was disappointing.

The bed mattresses were uncomfortable Rear outside are is not private as there is a window from the adjoining property that is in the Crispin rear garden area

  • "This is a really lovely place to stay."

I would say that the mattresses are poor quality and not what I would expect in a high end property

  • "Overall a brilliant cottage, lovely location and genuinely much better than the photos even presented."

Ideal base to go off and explore Northumberland. Constructive criticism can be aimed at the living room sofa’s, they are so small which makes them uncomfortable, it’s lacking an arm chair in there. The two single bed both need replacing, the springs have gone and one was slanted. Pretty important when booking accommodation, it appears to be overlooked as other reviewers have said the same. Shame really as besides this, it’s absolutely perfect.

  • "Great property, well laid out design of the rooms to make it really holiday friendly."

We arrived to a clean and tidy property. Self check-in was easy and a handy starter pack left in the kitchen with tea/coffee etc... The bedrooms were spacious with lots of storage which is really appreciated. We had a wee problem during our stay, we contacted the team to report it and someone was on site in less than 10 minutes to fix it. Really great service. Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable which did take some of the enjoyment out of our holiday. I think they they needed to be replaced.

  • "What a find, absolutely beautiful just what we were looking for especially as we needed private parking, and our dog Ralph could not believe his look having a secure garden to enjoy, the cottage was very well equipped and having a lovely pub two doors away was a welcome bonus!"

!the only little niggle would be that the mattress could have been deeper and firmer but that is a personal preference.we would definitely book again.

  • "Fab well organised, good standard would recommend if the mattresses were replaced."

I was in the twin could make out the top of the springs. Think this is the one aspect of rentals owners overlook as never put nice pictures of it online and they never use the beds, but is an essential. Otherwise couldn't fault.

  • "The dishwasher was really small with limited crockery available so had to use the dishwasher multiply times."

More crockery etc would have been good. There were no bath mats for the bathrooms. Property overall was really nice, clean in a great setting

  • "We enjoyed our stay in Lucker."

It's a pleasant village dominated by holiday homes which gives it a slightly odd atmosphere but it makes a very good base for exploring Bamburgh, Alnwick and the Northumberland coast. Crispin is attractive, comfortable and nicely set next to a small river. The garden is fairly dog-proof (an agile dog could leap the fence, ours can't). The Apple Inn (three doors away) calls itself a gastro-pub, which is an exaggeration, but the food is very good and the staff are delightlful. Because it's a commercially run cottage (one of many run by the same company) Crispin lacks several of the more eccentric things one expects in family run places - there are no jigsaws with bits missing, battered books or bits of old kitchen equipment that should have been thrown out years ago. As with all cottages, you'll need to bring your own kitchen knives or a knife sharpener. You may also want to take a couple of pans, chopping boards, a casserole, a set of scales and a sieve - otherwise you'll be limited to simple meals (or you'll end up eating in the pub a lot). We had no significant problems during our stay. The fridge refused to work when we got there but was replaced within an hour and the maintenance staff were as friendly and helpful as everyone else we encountered. Overall, we had a lovely stay and will almost certainly return next year.

  • "Lovely property, two nice large bedrooms."

We travelled with our 4yr old and 1yr old - youngest was in a travel cot in our room and still plenty of space to walk around. Everything we needed for a weekend break. Nice enclosed garden, safe for kids.

  • "The cottage was excellent very warm and clean."

The area was very quiet and peaceful. Pub next door, a convenience store and Pizza restaurant. We had a take away Pizza which was delicious and reasonably priced. I cannot fault this place. The accommodation was excellent and convenient to get to places.. only 10 minutes from the A1.
