  • "Lovely property, warm and cosy in an excellent location for a base to explore Northumberland."

Very handy for the many beautiful beaches in the area but also get-away-from-it-all rural areas such as Rothbury and the Cheviots. Goldfinch had a lovely aspect overlooking the church, plenty of parking with the very welcoming Apple Inn literally on our doorstep.

Good pub in the village. It would have been better to know prior to arriving there is an extra cost for the hot tub!

Although cottage was lovely and cosy we all had issues with the beds mattresses were very uncomfortable two off our party ended up with back pain (two seperate beds) felt like springs or coils were coming through which we did mention on our feedback in cottage everything else in cottage was lovely but you do need a good sleep

  • "We stayed many years ago when the properties were called Percy and Claxton owned by the Duke of Northumberland Estate, it was lovely then as it is now."

Very comfortable and spacious, ideal when you have dogs downstairs to clean away paw prints. Maintenance came straight away to fix a broken loo seat found on arrival. They hadn't however got the message about ordering a highchair and cot, but they were brought over immediately. The welcome pack was great, local produce. We had Sunday lunch at the Apple Inn, it was poor quality for the price, which was a shame, actually the same price as Whittling House in Alnmouth which is fantastic. The spa was lovely, especially the full body massage.

  • "Generally a good holiday letting in a very good setting."

Good to have a pub and cafe in the village too. Some of the furnishing and particularly kitchen equipment was a little tired and stale and needs updating

Hot tub was a great addition and well worth paying the extra for. The Beau Monde is a lovely facility to relax and unwind.
