"A very comfortable, spacious cottage with charm and character, well fitted-out with all you’d need for a great holiday."
A very rural location on a working arable farm, but only a few miles from the village of Ponteland, where there are good shops, restaurants and pubs. The city of Newcastle is easily accessible too, but the real draw is the natural beauty of the Northumberland coast and the unspoiled countryside of the Tyne Valley, Kielder Forest and Water, and the Northumberland National Park, rich in history and castles. Del, the host, was very helpful and friendly, and for us it was a fantastic holiday experience.

"What a relaxing bungalow !"
It was so light and airy and comfortable. The garden was ideal for our Jack Russell. We had everything we needed for our stay there. Thanks Del & Andy. We have booked to come back in the autumn.

"The Bungalow was lovely, comfortable, clean & with all the facilities we needed."
Our big problem was the 1.6 mile track leading to the Bungalow. It is littered with potholes, covered in mud & loose tarmac chippings. The problem became horrendous when, following heavy rain, the track was completely flooded in large parts. It was impossible to avoid potholes because the track was like driving through a lake. I was genuinely concerned about my vehicle tyres & underside. I appreciate the owners are not responsible for the rain nor, perhaps, the upkeep of the track, but we should have been informed from the outset about the length & state of the track & the probability of it flooding after heavy rain. Had we been informed beforehand we would not have booked. Due to this issue we left early on Wednesday.

"Spent an enjoyable 2 weeks at The Bungalow!"
It’s beautifully decorated with all those extra little touches to make it homely and welcoming. Our lovely host has thought of everything that a guest may need and forgotten to bring. Mornings and evenings the heating came on to take off the chill and it made the bungalow feel very cosy. So easy to relax on the comfortable sofa and outside in your own private garden. Felt so comfortable there that my wife and I didn’t want to return home! If you want to explore Northumberland, The Bungalow and location is the perfect choice.

"We had a lovely fortnight break in The Bungalow."
Our host Del was very helpful thoughout, keeping us supplied with eggs, coffee and tea. We stayed there with our two very well behaved cats and they enjoyed the garden and surrounds.
We would have no hesitation in recommending The Bungalow for a quiet rural escape holiday.

"The bungalow is lovely, plenty of room, very well equipped and has a wonderful garden that is dog safe and a sun trap."
It’s surrounded by fields and trees and so quiet, in all a good place to spend a weeks holiday. I have a complaint about the heating, it’s controlled remotely by the owner and we were told it would be on 6-9 am and pm which was fine, but out of 14 times it should have been on , it only came on 5 times. There is a fire in the lounge, which we used, but it tended to be cool in the bedrooms and bathrooms, so we felt that we had no control given that it says heating is included. We just felt our holiday was spoilt by having to phone up and ask for the heating to be on, in the end we gave up and turned the fire up higher.
Thank you for the feedback. We like to improve on anyone's future stay at The Bungalow.
I appreciate the mention about the heating but feel I need to clarify the situation
for anyone who reads this that may like to stay going forward.
This week that they stayed was very warm. We have three other properties on our farm and not one had any heating on. The heating is set on a thermostat and timer. Which is set at the same temperature we have it set at in the winter months, the only difference is it is on for longer hours for obvious reasons.
As I explained to our holiday maker the heating was set to come on when the Bungalow temperature dropped below 21. It was always 23 plus in the property which I can see from the app on my phone as we have a Smart meter installed.
From the Sunday onwards I set the heating to come on when the temperature dropped below 23C in The Bungalow. Which it never did. The gas fire in the lounge is very effective so this maybe why the heating didn't go any higher? Also baring in mind the property is small and does not take much heating up, especially in the winter.
This is the first piece of feedback we have received with issues related to the heating (especially in the summer months). Previous customers in the Winter periods have not raised similar concerns.
Not only will future holiday makers benefit from the feedback given. We also provide farm fresh eggs, milk and cake your welcome tray when you arrive. If you travel with a dog we provide: a drinking bowl, drying towels, blankets, a travel water bottle and smallish dog bags, Outdoor garden furniture and BBQ.
We respect and appreciate any given feedback. Which we strive to better ourselves going forward for all customers.

"Lovely well appointed property with lots of thoughtful finishing touches."
Comfortable and warm. Nice to watch the hens wandering round. Good walk from the Bungalow but didn't manage the whole circuit as parts were very muddy following all the rain. Close to Belsay with it's castle and Bolam Country park.

"Fantastic property."
Spotlessly clean with lots of added touches from the owner to make our stay even more special. We stayed over Christmas and it felt so warm and cozy and festive. Perfect for our dog with a safe enclosed garden and great walks from the property. Beautiful location. Quiet but owners not far if we needed anything at all. Dark skies and lots of wildlife. Perfect thank you.

Well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Friendly responsive owner who is on hand to answer any questions you might have. Lovely decor and furnishings made the bungalow feel very cosy. Quiet peaceful location. One of the best Sykes properties we have stayed in.

"We really enjoyed our visit to the cottage."

"So happy with this bungalow."
Beautiful views over fields and so quiet. The kitchen, living/dining area and the main bedroom are large and very comfortable. The facilities are great and I wish we had had a chance to enjoy the large garden, but autumn weather had other plans.
We loved our week in Northumberland and really want to visit the North East again soon.
Thank you very much for your feed back on The Bungalow. This is our first year renting the Bungalow and to date we have had positive feedback which we are delighted to hear about.
We have plans to further improve the property next year.
