  • "Excellent accommodation."

Very spacious and well equipped. There is a nice little garden for sitting out, plus an extra expanse of grass for any ball games for any energetic guests. There is a newly fitted car echarging point which isn't yet mentioned in the property details. I would recommend this property.

  • "Excellent holiday cottage: great location for touring this fantastic coastline."

Lovely homely feel with everything necessary to ensure a smooth and relaxing holiday. We had wonderful weather which certainly helped us enjoy our time together following a family wedding at nearby Newton Hall.

  • "We needed 3 working bathrooms for our party but only one of the showers worked some of the time and the other two occasionally ."

Think it’s because of the water pressure so don’t have a shower if anyone else on the complex is using the water . No blind on upper twin bedroom window or upper front shower room so use towels maybe . I did contact agency a few times but no response before we visited as I was concerned by most recent review . I rang the agency when we realised two of the showers didn’t work and was informed someone may visit but no update to confirm if they did or didn’t . Dogs are allowed and I love dogs but not when the other occupants let them bark their heads of in the morning . Other than that we really enjoyed our stay .

  • "Property was comfortable and a base after a long day, but unfortunately High tide is very dated in need of some TLC ie painting, inside and out, deep cleaning (very dirty cushions) dusty and spills and marks on walls which if cleaned would be an improvement."

Outside furniture was old.uncomfortable and definitely needs new. Garden not touched. There is an EV charger put in in 2021 but not mentioned. Three showers and water pressure in all was terrible, we did let you know but apart from message saying they would check with the water company no other communication. Had voice mail on way up to High tide to say one of the toilets was not working, but again nothing else. This property is for 6 people and anymore than the 2 of us there. with these niggles would have been totally unacceptable. Please don’t ignore these comments as this cottage could be lovely if some time and effort was put in to improvements. Apart from that we love Northumberland and will be back as always but unfortunately not to high tide.

Lovely design and impeccably clean. The cottage is in an ideal location for all of the great places we like to visit and the stunning walks that Northumberland has to offer, especially if you have a dog.We will definitely be returning. Thank you Ali

  • "Lovely area, cottage was nicely laid out and reasonably clean."

The garden area could do with a tidy up and the blinds upstairs definately need replacing as does the bottom rollers on the dishwasher.

  • "Lets start positive."

...Great location!!! Plenty of drawers and hanging space in downstairs bedroom. Bedding and towels spotless. Kitchen really well equipped but some crockery needs replacing as really scratched and some chipped. We had to buy flutes for prosecco and there were only 4 wine glasses none that matched (we are comparing this to a sykes cottage we stayed in earlier this year) Good to see an EV charging point Downstairs bed not comfortable and pillows very high and hard. Pillows also hard and high in twin bedroom. Our other guests in the upstairs double had no complaints. This is a personal preference but it is tricky watching TV after someone has retired for the evening as the seating area is directly underneath the bedroom. I dont think the lounge seating area is adequate or comfortable for 6 adults and the concrete hearth was an awful trip hazard. Lots of black mould in downstairs bathroom around the bath, loose toilet seat in downstairs bathroom One of the blinds was completely broken in the upstairs double bedroom and we had to buy black bin bags and tape to do a makeshift blind but it kept falling off because of the heat (weather is not your fault). The clothes maiden could do with replacing and we did not have pegs for the washing line I dont really think the garden space is comfortable. There is a large dead tree in the corner which needs removing We took photos of the blind in the bedroom and also of a couple of filthy greasy trays that had been left (we did dishwash them but I ended up buying a new tray). Happy to share the photos if you can provide email address Hope this helps Kind regards

  • "A week here was thoroughly enjoyed."

Below is the Pros & Cons which we have gathered while staying here. Pros: Comfortable Beds Pet friendly Well equipped (Washing Machine) Enclosed garden Easy access to top sights in Northumberland (Transport Required) but not too busy in the local area Nice view from the top windows Private parking on site (plus electric car PodPoint) Cons: Some Decor needs updating; paint marks, scratches and broken ornaments etc. bird poo on lounge focal point canvas & chipped crockery No toilet roll holders Blind in upstairs bedroom broken (woken up by bright sunlight daily) Living room furniture only big enough for 4 Cleanliness could be a little better Water pressure isn’t the best (only good enough for one shower etc) Shower head needs changing Bin bags are cheap and broke when moving Label bins to show which is recycling Upstairs bed sticks out too much to walk round (because of the sloping roof) so be careful of your shins getting hit All in all a nice week here and with these cons being addressed we would gladly stay again. :)

Beds are comfy and bathrooms ideally placed. The enclosed garden is ideal and I really cannot fault the cottage and grounds.

  • "High Tide is among a small collection of stone buildings attractively converted into into holiday homes near the coast."

It is spacious and clean, perfect for six between three bright bedrooms. Good dining and sitting space, with a small enclosed area outside and great to find such a nice house that will take a dog. It does not have a big view, looking instead towards the other buildings, but a moment's walk from the door takes to you to open fields and a view of the sea. Recommended!

If you wish to walk anywhere at night then a good torch is essential. There are lots of things to see and do in the area.
