"The property was spacious, light and airy but comfortably warm."
The garden was ideal for our dog, but more active or younger dogs may have been able to escape over a low section of fence or by climbing on top of the compost heap. When it rained heavily, water came under the back door which we had to mop up. Although the property was decorated nicely inside, the outside woodwork is in urgent need of painting and some repair where it is rotten. The was only just enough toilet roll !!! some spare would have been useful. If you stay in a hotel you are not expected to take your own toilet rolls. Bed linen is of poor quality.

"Beautiful house and amazing, secure garden with views out to the sea."
Great spot to explore the coast from. House is well equipped and spacious. Nice touch of chocolates and wine on arrival. Lovely sunrises and sunsets. On a fairly busy road, which you don't notice in the house - and isn't too annoying in the garden either actually - but it does mean going anywhere on foot is a bit hairy as the grass verges can be very narrow and traffic passes fast. Didn't feel comfortable doing that with 2 daft dogs which meant the hoped for walk to the beach was off the cards. Several beautiful beaches just 5-10 mins away by car though and of course the coastal path.

"Overall the cottage was lovely could just do with a bit of an update and deep clean , the garden is great but not escape proof for our dog as grass cuttings are as high as fence so able to leap over !"
A small carton of milk in fridge would be very welcome as shop miles away for the 1st cuppa on arrival

"Stayed at Sea Breeze in July 2024."
We booked the property as a couple with a dog (young cocker spaniel) for the space, garden and proximity to High/Low Newton. The property- decent size but looking very tired. Some of the windows are rotting and the kitchen was dirty and not particularly well equipped. The inside was very basic, which I get if it's intended for families etc, but for £1200 for the week I'd expect better. Garden- again, good size and good views. NOT secure- there is a compost heap at the back which out dog managed to mount and jump over the wall initiating a chase round the fields. It reeks of laziness as it's where they dump thr grass rather than taking it away. Location- on a map, it looks a short walk to High/Low Newton. There is a footpath on the map, but this is on the map only. In reality it's a massively overgrown field you have to wade through, which we abandoned to just use the road. This was longer and much more dangerous given it's on a main road. Felt very much out on a limb. In short, disappointing for the money. Wouldn't book again.

"We loved this comfortable cottage ."
Everything was first class and we would like to return . The only comment is that the hob in the kitchen could do with a light .

"Sea Breeze is a lovely spacious cottage with a fairly large enclosed garden which makes it ideal for families with small children or dogs."
The cottage was clean and comfortable and well equipped. The two the beach and two villages, where the pubs sell food, are a short walk across the fields. There are longer walks along the coast path and plenty of places to visit by car. The bus service is also great.

"We loved our stay at Seabreeze and would definitely book again."
It’s a great size with a wonderful garden in a great location. There are lots of little touches to make it family friendly, including children’s books and games as well as high chairs and plastic plates/cups. The rooms are very spacious and the gas hob is a big bonus. There were stunning views of the sunrises and sunsets and you can even see the sea. There was also the lovely little touch of a box of chocolates and bottle of wine on arrival, thank you! The cottage is a bit tired in places and could do with a general maintenance inspection for improvements - the footstool in the living room needs reupholstering as it’s clearly been scratched by dogs. The kitchen utensils could also do with an update and the glass turntable in the microwave is too small so doesn’t turn properly. A lot of the games were missing pieces or broken so could do with a sort out. And a deep clean of the rug/sofas in the living room would be a good idea as it smelled of wet dog. Hoovering got rid of the smell slightly, but a proper clean is needed. I would also suggest providing at least one spare toilet roll in each bathroom and making sure the hand soap is refilled. However, as I said, generally the cottage was brilliant and everything we needed for our holiday. Even with the minor maintenance issues it’s a lot better than many other cottages I’ve stayed at in the area and I’m genuinely considering booking it again for next year!

"The cottage is really lovely - light and comfortable."
The mature garden and the views are exceptional . Great place to stay.

"The barn was lovely and we enjoyed our stay."
It’s great the garden was totally suitable for our dogs, no escape routes!! There are a few things that I would change/update to make the stay reflect the rating. A socket next to a mirror, I couldn’t dry my hair in front of a mirror so had to do it blind. Not the best hairdo for going out to dinner. Add a patio and chairs to catch the evening sun out the breeze. The big table and chairs were fine for breakfast but there was no where to sit in garden to have a sundowner. Lower height of shrubs at far end of garden. It would be nice to view the countryside beyond the garden from the seating area. Perhaps look at changing the couches, they are very low and could be an issue for people with arthritis/disabilities. When you come to update toilets I’d recommend getting the comfort height seat, much easier to get out of. Some areas would benefit from a coat of paint. Everything else was perfectly acceptable. As I say, we enjoyed our stay and would book again, especially if these updates were made. Regards Lesley Wilson
