  • "A lovely, bright and well equipped bungalow."

The milk, wine and biscuits were very welcoming. We stayed for a fortnight and met the housekeeper who was very helpful and friendly. The garden is a nice spot to sit in with comfortable seats but it badly needs weeding.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Your feedback regarding the garden is appreciated as it seems that this year the weeds have become a bit of a problem. We do employ a gardener, but following your review we have decided that the best thing to do would be to redesign the garden so that it minimises the chances of a re-emergence. Our thanks. The bed and chairs were firm and comfy too. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood but handy enough for the brilliant pub and farmshop.

Nicely appointed, and great location. Good for couples or families. Easy to find. Made a good holiday even better. Garage shop and farm shop useful. Beach was the most beautiful we visited. Only teeny suggestion - some wooden/rubber spoons for cooking with?

About the location

EMBLETON

Craster 3 miles; Beadnell 4 miles; Alnwick 7 miles.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
