    We definitely would return.

Location and facilities were first class. The hosts were very welcoming ( including a bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge ) and engaging. We will certainly recommend and plan to return.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were made to feel very welcome by the owner Steve who met us at the apartment, helped us with our luggage and went with us to show us where we could park with the permit he provided."

The beds were enormous and really comfortable and the view from the dining area window was lovely when the fog lifted!! Steve also contacted us during our stay to ensure all was well which impressed us. The apartment was extremely well equipped and in a lovely position. The car stayed where it was as we could walk along the coast and river or take the metro/bus which were very close by. Thank you again Steve.

  • "Our second stay in this apartment - as requested by our granddaughter (9); so you know it’s a great location for children."

Steve makes you welcome from the moment you arrive, helping with cases and ensuring that you have everything you need. The apartment is spacious and clean with everything you need, and the location is great - on the main street in Tynemouth; though we have had no issues with noise on either of our stays, and parking isn’t a problem. Tynemouth is a gem of a place with beautiful beaches a short walk from the apartment which are not crowded (and for us the bonus of no amusement arcades). There are also lots of cafes and restaurants for dining throughout the day if you want.

  • "We honestly can’t recommend this property highly enough."

Steve, the owner, met us upon arrival and immediately made us feel welcome and secure in the fact that had there been any issues (there weren’t) he would have sorted them out for us. The property was roomy and airy (we got lucky with the 1st, and possibly only, warm week of summer) and had everything you would want for a break - comfy beds, nice bathroom, kitchen with everything you would need and a lovely sitting room for relaxing. If that’s not enough, the location couldn’t have been bettered - a couple of hundred yards away from the beach and priory, and bang in the middle of town for all the bars and restaurants, and yet no noise issues whatsoever. We are so looking forwards to returning as soon as possible to this lovely apartment. Thanks Steve for a lovely stay - Pete & Ali.

The kitchen is well stocked if you’re cooking. Lovely views from the dining area and kitchen windows of the river Tyne. We all had a very nice stay in this property, having previously stayed in the apartment above which is owned by the same man. Again it was full of character too. The owner is a friendly local guy who is on hand if there was any issues. Definitely be back again! Thanks Steve

Many thoughtful touches included by the owner. Prior to booking, we were unsure about parking arrangements . We need not have been concerned - we never had any problems parking close to the property. We would recommend this property.

A short walk to the sea, metro, coffee shops and restaurants. Great view from the back over to the Collingwood memorial, watching the sunrise with a nice cup of coffee.

    - Good locality to get easy access to coast - metro for Newcastle short walk (market held at station Sat/Sun) and surrounding area's - plenty of choice for eating out.

  • "Lovely apartment - clean, spacious and well equipped."

It was good to be met by Steve, who helped with the luggage and showed us round the apartment. The apartment is roomy and comfortable, in a fantastic location on Front Street in the middle of the village. There are plenty of nice cafes, restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes walk - and some nice shops (if you like browsing don’t miss the weekend market at the metro station). There are two beautiful, clean and sandy blue flag beaches within 5 minutes walk which we really enjoyed with our granddaughter. On a couple of days the weather wasn’t brilliant (countrywide, not because it’s in the north!) but we had a good time at the aquarium (15 minutes walk), and at the pleasure park in South Shields.

Right on Front St in beautiful Tynemouth. Our holiday here was absolutely amazing! The owner Steve is a wonderful person and so friendly and professional; no request is too much! From the moment we arrived, he helped my husband with the luggage, gave us a parking permit, gave us full details of the property; a wonderful welcome complete with a lovely bottle of Prosecco! The apartment is just lovely; the large windows at the back allow lots of sunlight and the view of the gardens and the castle and sea beyond are just heavenly! The apartment is bright and extremely clean; the kitchen is great and well equipped, everything you need to make a meal with all white goods, tableware and cutlery. The bathroom is a lovely size, very modern with lovely shower over bath! Lots of lovely towels provided. The living area has comfortable furniture and a great large tv, with lovely lighting for the evenings! The 2 bedrooms are lovely and large, the beds are very comfortable with lovely clean, fresh linens, really good quality. The bedrooms come complete with beautiful Georgian original shutters! Very charming! Everything was great and looking forward to returning to this wonderful property with the best owner! Thank you Steve for going the extra mile and making our visit fantastic!! We will be back! The location is exceptional, the beach is very close, and Front Street has several amazing restaurants and bars; charming gift shops and lovely cafes, spoilt for choice!

  • "We booked this apartment after reading all of the previous reviews and the advertised images."

And that's were fiction left and reality moved in. This apartment had not seen a good clean in a longtime my reason for saying this is we found a Metro ticket behind a movable piece of furniture dated December 2022 and that included the thick dust. Bedroom dresser was tatty with old matt paint and behind we found a coat hanger, packet of contact lenses and thick dust. Whilst moving the free standing mirror it decided to literally fall apart. Backing wallpaper coming away from the walls in most if not all rooms. Dust accumulation on all skirting boards, doors, tops and window frames, black mould on bedroom window frame. Kitchen area needs a serious deep clean starting with the floor coverings. We had to rewash all plates, cups and cutlery before we used them, microwave needs a good clean along with the wall tiles and refuse bin. Fire escape was cluttered with hoovers, laundry bags, boxes and racks and is an absolute death trap if there was a fire. All carpets are badly stained and worn with parts were the carpets have been lifted and not secured back down. Overall this apartment is tired and needs the owners full attention by putting his guests first and stop denying that there are serious problems within. The only positives are we had a clean comfortable bed, clean bed linen and towels.

After 34 extremely positive reviews I am disappointed to receive your feedback. I have always been commended for cleanliness. It has achieved 4.9/5 (98% ) for cleanliness. Additionally, the property has 4.8(96% ) in all categories spanning 6 years. It was very unfortunate that you decided not to respond to the texts I sent during your stay asking if everything was as expected and to drop me a text if you needed anything. This would have enabled me to come to the property during your stay and address any issues. You ignored these texts and chose to respond when you got home. By this time it was too late to rectify any issues you had. Most people understand that this is a Georgian Period property with character and such properties do have minor imperfections. For example original sash windows and shutters have a different finish to modern UPVC windows. I would urge you to read all of the positive reviews and reflect on whether this review is honest and fair in your opinion. I always strive to give the best quality standard of accommodation and service as possible. I will always act upon positive criticism and aim for the highest standards . Your review differs so comprehensively from hundreds of other texts/reviews/messages /phone-calls I have received I therefore feel that the compensation you have requested is unwarranted. • "A great stay!"

The beds were so comfy and we loved how big they and the bedrooms were. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and such a lovely touch adding the bottle of fizz and milk - thank you! Steve was also brilliant and it was so useful that he let us leave whenever we wanted on checkout day as he didn’t have anyone else arriving. This was so helpful and felt like we didn’t have to rush to leave which was lovely ☺️ For the price we paid we thought it was brilliant and really hope to stay for another long weekend next year again. The only things which perhaps could be improved are better wifi as we would definitely contemplate staying for longer if we would be able to work occasionally which would require stronger wifi as we struggled with that generally. And just a few areas having a lick of paint such as the shutters as these were a bit sticky and the paint came off when you tried to open and close them. Thank you for a great stay! We hope to be back!
