  • "We had a fabulous stay at buzzards rest."

The cottage was so well equipped with everything you could possibly think of and it was sparkling clean. The bedrooms were comfortable and Margaret even checked in on us to make sure the house was warm enough (it was lovely and toasty) as the temperature outside has started to drop. Perfect for young families, nice touches around like nightlights and books/toys. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, we’re so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at Buzzards rest and hope very much to welcome you back again in the future :-) Property Owner

  • "Had a great stay in the cottage."

We were visiting and hosting various family and friends. Plenty of room, and enough plates and cutlery for eight of us one evening. I loved the garden...very Frances Hodgson Burnett! Don't make it too prim as you work on it..... Thanks to Margaret for the lovely welcome.

We’re so happy to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at Buzzards rest and indeed how much you enjoyed the garden, and no worries we’ll be keeping it on the ‘wild side’ down to the ‘secret garden’ ;-) Property Owner

The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay and more. The location was perfect for visiting National Trust and English Heritage properties and also Morpeth and the coast. We hope to be back soon.

  • "What a fantastic property!"

The pictures don't really do this justice. An amazing base for our summer break. Well provisioned kitchen (sometimes it seems like no one has ever actually cooked on a holiday house!), great ambience, lovely garden. Only fault is that the driveway is a bit pot holey, but you can use the gate at the rear of the property.

Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback! We’re so happy to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at Buzzards rest and hope to welcome you back again soon ! Best wishes from Buzzards rest team ! Property Owner

  • "We loved virtually everything."

The only issues we had were 1. the shower floor developed a crack but Margaret immediately arranged a plumber to attend to carry out a temporary fix. 2. We found the TV difficult to operate. We should have asked Margaret!! So apart from these 2 minor setbacks, it was all excellent. The goodies pack on arrival was delightful and original The peaceful location that was just a few minutes from the A1 and nearby Morpeth The gadgets and kitchen utensils Comfortable bed with blankets to combat theNorthumberland weather The spaciousness of the cottage The wifi Perfect location for visiting the Northumberland and Durham areas of interest Upstairs and downstairs loos Private space for car parking

Thank you so much for your feedback and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Buzzards rest along with all the wonderful areas of interest that Northumberland and Durham has to offer. With kindest regards from all . Property Owner

  • "Our stay was enhanced by the proximity of Margaret, the owner’s mother."

She could not do too much to help. The property and gardens were a delight, well furnished, with the exception of the TV, a mystery to all. That clearly needs improvement, especially in rainy Northumbria. Didn’t think much of the local pub restaurants, but the farm shops sold excellent products. It’s a waste to miss out on the local attractions but this is one of the nicer properties we’ve stayed in and well worth experiencing.

Thank you very much for your feedback and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed experiencing Buzzards Rest along with our local farm shops and attractions. With kindest regards from all . Property Owner

  • "This is one of the best properties I’ve stayed in, well appointed, a real home-from-home in a quiet and peaceful rural location."

And a lovely garden, too! On arrival I found the house to be spotlessly clean and provided with everything necessary for a comfortable and trouble-free stay. The welcome basket was a delight. Buzzard’s Rest is well located for visits to Hadrian’s Wall, Beamish, Cragside, Alnwick, Wallington Hall, and Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens. Thank you, Margaret, for your kind help and advice.

Thank you so much for your super feedback, we are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay and hope very much to welcome you back at Buzzards Rest in the future :-) Kindest regards Buzzards Rest team ! Property Owner

  • "A delightful cottage with a very well equipped kitchen."

We liked the garden, please let the “rewilding” continue. The twin bedroom is perhaps best thought of as a children’s room; lanky teenagers might find it not for them. The owners were very helpful and friendly. A good base for trips to Hadrian’s Wall, the coast, Cragside, Hexham and Alnwick. Morpeth good for tourist information and eating, we had a delicious meal at Emily’s/PTMY.

Many thanks and apologies for the very late response to your feedback from your stay with us last October! But just to say how much we appreciated it and we hope very much that you would consider a stay with us again in the future. Thanks again and kind regards Natascha Z Property Owner
