  • "Great house in fabulous location."

A few issues: the patio door was very difficult to open and close (a comment made in the visitors' book earlier in the year!); there needs to be another fridge for which there is room in the utility room; we couldn't find a dustpan and brush anywhere and the vacuum cleaner is not very good. Otherwise, the house is spacious and has a good-sized garden, making it perfect for a group that includes children.

  • "Overall the house is lovely, but all the external doors catch / stick / need gentle persuasion to shut / lock."

It's all doable, but it can't help their longeivity. The taps in the ultiltiy room seem to leak, mafe the work surface very wet. Toilet in upstairs non ensuite bathroom ran on sometimes, so using a lot of water. Kettle leaked, toaster is really too small for a 10 perosn house. So, overall loved it, I think there is maintenance required on the external doors, and some internal issues. Thanks.

  • "We spent over £4k on this booking so would expect perfection."

On the plus side we did have a really good holiday, the property is spacious and in a great location. The garden was safe and great for the kids and there was a nice welcome pack on arrival. There were one or two niggles. Firstly car parking is problematic. This is shared with a neighbouring property and on arrival we found they were parked in our space. They reluctantly agreed to move. We would suggest the car parking spaces are more clearly marked. We also had issues with one of the showers overflowing and believe there may be a blockage which will need sorting by the owners. Finally, the front door key is a nightmare to use!

  • "The house was advertised as 5 en-suites."

It has 3 which caused an issue. For the price point we were disappointed as the kettle, toaster and dish washer did not work. These were reported. Part of the blind is missing in the downstairs bedroom, picture had fallen off the wall, no batteries in the remote controls, level of cleanliness was poor, cobwebs, dirt - just needs a deep clean. Disappointing to see afterwards that a previous guest had left this feedback and these issues had not been sorted. For the money we paid we expected much better.

  • "The property felt as though it had been empty for a while."

Cobwebs on all light fittings and the dining area lantern roof also cobwebs. Shower door all stiff. The shower vent in main double bedroom clogged with dirt . The kettle leaks water if any water is left in after boiling . Plus side bedding and towels good .garden great . Plugs all stuck in sinks which was resolved by Sykes maintenance and renewed.,handle fell off inside of door in main bedroom , fixed also. Location ideal but noisy road as expected.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
