  • "We had an enjoyable stay at the Viking ."

An instruction book for the induction cooker would have been very useful as we had to guess how to use it.There was a very weak internet connection.

  • "Overall the inside of the property was to a good standard and great location however was let down by the unusable balconies one due to proximity of bins causing flies and smell along with old bird droppings and the upstairs balcony being covered in old bird droppings on handrails, floor and chair."

The upstairs lights also did not work and the garage was too small to be of any use.

Thank you for your comments. Apologies about the bins. We have made attempts to have them moved but they are managed by the parish council and it’s proving tricky. The upstairs lights are all working now so I’m not sure which ones were out but sorry for the inconvenience. The garages are suitable for a small/medium car but agreed, not for anything larger but there is the designated space in front of the garage for 1 car. Thank you for bringing attention to the upstairs balcony needing a clean. I will get that attended to. Property Owner

  • "Our second stay and we are not disappointed."

Great position for watching sunsets. Close to all amenities and great boat trips. The WiFi could do with a boost. It is a pity that the large public waste bins are placed close to the balcony causing smells and attracting flocks of noisy seagulls.

Thanks for your feedback. Glad you had a good stay. Noted about WiFi - we’ll look into improving that. Agreed, the bins are a nuisance and we have written to the parish council to have them moved. They were placed there without consideration to the Viking apartments unfortunately. Property Owner

  • "Lovely clean apartment."

Very central. Nice welcome and cleaning pack and thanks for providing a couple of toilet rolls and soap. Parking space a bonus, think it would be a squeeze to fit a car in the garage. We avoided the towel rack in the downstairs bathroom as the rust marked the towels. Double bed pillows very thin (not used to sleeping flat) and mattress springy so if one person moved so did the other! Main balcony is just behind 3 large public rubbish bins that were full to overflowing at the each of each day, but is nice to stand on looking out at the sea first thing in a morning when not so busy. Excellent location for exploring the local area.

Thank you for your comments. The mattress in the double bedroom is being replaced and new pillows have been supplied for all the beds. Thanks for pointing out the towel rail - I’ll get that cleaned and sorted. We have tried to get the bins moved - they are managed by parish council and it’s proving tricky but we’ll keep pushing for this. Hope you had a good stay. Property Owner

  • "We stayed at Castle View last year and loved it."

When we saw the apartment was available on the dates we wanted for this year, we didn't hesitate to book it again for a second stay. Large, clean apartment in an excellent location. Views of the sea and Bamburgh Castle, off street parking and less than 5 mins walk from all the pubs/restaurants and shops in Seahouses. Easy access to the harbour and beach for an amazing walk up to Bamburgh and back. Great base to explore the rest of the area too - less than 10 miles to Alnwick, Dunstanburgh and not much further to Holy Island.

Thanks for your lovely comments. Hope you had a great holiday. Property Owner

  • "Very well equipped and well maintained holiday let."

Situated in a superb position in the centre of town with lovely views of the coast and castle Beds are a little hard and the garage is rather full so was a bit tight fitting in 2 large motorcycles, wound definitely struggle to fit in a family car. Other than that property was great.

  • "Lovely, comfortable, well equipped property which is close to the shops, restaurants and harbour."

Sea view rather spoilt by car park and the balcony overlooking the sea has the view blocked, presumably for privacy reasons. Cleanliness was ok and beds were comfortable, however shower floor looked a bit grubby and shower head holder was really rusty. Despite the little niggles, a very nice place to stay.

  • "The property does require a really good clean, the towel rails are extremely grubby."

The mattress on the double bed hasn’t been replaced so we used the single beds which are comfortable. The blinds need replacing in the upstairs bathroom and cleaning elsewhere. We bought a bathroom air freshener to cover the horrible smell in the downstairs bathroom. It was very cold when we arrived as all the heating was off and it took several hours to warm up. The facilities in the kitchen are fine and the settee is comfortable and the location is great, but we won’t be staying there again.

  • "Loved the apartment, great view over the sea towards the castle."

Very comfortable and warm with a fantastic location in the heart of Seahouses. We will book it again. One little niggle, the double mattress was a bit uncomfortable but apart from this great place to stay.

  • "Fabulous apartment clean and central."

The only problem we had was the hard mattress when you moved you could feel the springs so we didn’t get a good night sleep.

  • "1) We were told that the gates of the complex would be closed and locked, neither was applicable."

    2) Cleanliness - the oven had not been cleaned and when opened smelled of old fat, and we didn’t feel that it was usable. 3) The black cups/mugs on the rack which we understand are on display were thick with dust, hadn’t been cleaned. 4) Venetian blinds in the downstairs bathroom were thick with dust and mould. On saying all of the above, the apartment was well decorated and comfortable. The big plus was the location, being close to all amenities, the view of Bamburgh Castle and the seafront.

The apartment was the best equipped we have been in.The town is busy and the apartment is close to shops and restaurants and a car park But we were not disturbed by noise. Great view of Bamburgh castle from lounge window, along with St Aidan’s beach. Plenty of places to visit using Seahouses as a base.

Everything you could possibly need was supplied. The refreshment and mini cleaning pack on day of arrival was welcome and helpful. We enjoyed the view out to sea, or up to Banburgh Castle, from the balcony, every day. The beds were comfy, providing a restful sleep. Fabulous place to stay, shops, restaurants and beach all within 2 to 10 minutes walk. Lots of lovely places to visit. We would definitely stay here again.
