  • "This was our second stay at Lobster Pot Cottage."

Perfectly located in Seahouses, close to harbour and all local amenities. The cottage is very well equipped and had everything needed to make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. Great, comfortable beds, the cottage is very well heated, so was lovely and cosy, woodburner is also a welcome addition. We enjoyed our stay so much we have rebooked for next year. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fabulous week in Lobster pot cottage. Plenty of room for the four of us. Would highly recommend. We would certainly return next time we are in that part of the world.

  • "The property was adequate, it was a little off putting to see cigarette butt's in the door mat outside the entrance to the property."

The general appearance throughout, and the decor looked a little tired and needs freshening up. The provision for facilities were good, and the location excellent. Unfortunately prior to our arrival there was a problem with the heating system in the lounge, however the owner had supplied an electric heater, and there was a log burning stove, it would have been a nice welcome to have had a starter bag of kindling and logs, also the fan in the oven failed, again the owner sorted this within 24 hours.

  • "Stayed in Seahouses numerous times and this has to be the best stay yet!"

The cottage was beautiful, well kept and very clean. The beds were super comfy. The cottage has everything you need, they have thought of every thing that you may need whilst you’re away, There is parking to the side of the cottage for one car, we didn’t move our car the whole week we stayed! The cottage is in a fantastic location, nice and handy for the harbour and opposite a pub. Previous reviews have noted the noise from the pub , I would say this only happened Friday and Saturday and it was nothing major, certainly wouldn’t put us off booking again. The pub is also nice and cosy so make sure you pay a visit! Fantastic stay and look forward to visiting again!

Only slight draw back is no enclosed area for the dog. But the beach is 50m away. As we travelled a long way a Saturday change over would have been beneficial because of the traffic We had a great time and would definitely recommend it

  • "Beautiful home ."

Only thing missing which isn't possible is a gated area to let the dogs out . But this isn't a major issue seeing as you are a 1 minutes walk to the harbour. I loved seeing the sea from the pavement just outside the house. We loved that there are plenty of restaurants/pubs to choose from . The property is ideal as its far enough from the hussle and bussle of main street . Fri,Saturday and Sunday nights are a bit noisy as the music from the Schooner Inn across the road can be a bit much but is finished by 11 p.m . We will definitely be back . We were treated to a fantastic sunset one night it was amazing over Bamburgh and Holy Island . Book this property and you won't be disappointed if you are then ...... I despair

  • "We loved the cottage and area, fantastic walks north and south along the coast."

Discovered hot kipper rolls from Swallow Fish, perfect for lunch. Only negative was that, although recommended for dogs, there was no closed off area, back yard etc., so had to walk them out at 5am every morning. Not really a chore as we didn't have any rain but would have been if it was wet, a little more explanation would have helped our choice.

  • "This is a lovely, well equipped cottage which is in an excellent location for visiting many of the local attractions."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the poor weather. The only downside was the parking - we were a party of three (2 cars) travelling from different regions of the UK. There is only room for one car at the cottage and parking in Seahouses is not easy! The only car park is very expensive (£8 per day). Just something to bear in mind.

  • "Absolutely loved staying in the Lobster Pot Cottage!"

Lovely and clean and I felt at home there straight away. Obviously it's in a fabulous location, private parking is a bonus and it is a great base to explore the rest of Northumberland. The cottage is very well stocked with practically everything you need to enjoy your stay - something which in my experience appears to be becoming increasingly rare with many holiday lets, many of which fail to provide the very basics - but not here! The generous welcome pack was much appreciated - again something else many holiday lets seem to have done away with so thank you! I would highly recommend a stay here, I only wish I could have stayed longer!

We also found it difficult to control the radiators.Saying that the cottage is in a fabulous location and we enjoyed our holiday tremendously.

  • "Without doubt Lobster Pot Cottage is the best cottage we have ever rented through Sykes Cottages, and we've rented few over the years."

It was exceptionally clean, well appointed, fully equipped and it was obvious that the owners used the cottage as there were several personal items left in odd places. The beds were comfortable, warm and the bedrooms had adequate storage. The en-suites for each room were handy but I would suggest some more photos of them on the website. Being used to power showers I found the electric ones a little underwhelming but that is just me and wouldn't prevent me from re booking. Centrally located in Seahouses the house was just a very short walk from the shops and at least two pubs. We did hear the live music from one pub on a couple of nights but it stopped promptly at 11 o'clock in the evening. The beach and harbour are almost on the doorstep and gave us plenty to see . Lots of great walks in the local area and the local people were very friendly and helpful. Would I go back to Lobster Pot Cottage? Yes in a heartbeat.
