  • "Lovely apartment in a central location for exploring the many attractions Northumberland has to offer."

Co-op supermarket 150 yds away for supplies and a few restaurants around Seahouses Main Street. Farne Island gift shop next door to the apartments is an Aladdin’s cave and always worth a visit! Fabulous beaches within walking distance and historic Alnwick castle a 25 minute drive away- Bamburgh Castle only 3 miles away and a beautiful walk along the coastal road or a short drive with good parking nearby. Apartment was clean and very well maintained with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The beds are very comfortable and a bath in the en-suite was an added bonus! 2 small balconies provide a lovely partial sea view for a morning coffee, weather permitting . The side view does overlook the next door Castle Inn but this didn’t cause us any of the problems mentioned in some other reviews. Plentiful hot water and accessible heating kept us cosy throughout our stay. Plenty of kitchen equipment to self cater and good instructions for using all appliances. There’s access to a numbered space in the under-cover garage for parking a medium sized car and gated access to the complex provides security. Will definitely return.

Thank you so much for your great feedback back, we are so happy you had a great stay and would love to welcome you back in the future. Thank you for choosing to stay with us. Property Owner

  • "The location is ideal, being close to local amenities and the security of the complex is reassuring."

The quality of the apartment is very good - nice quality flooring/permanent fixtures and the furnishings comfortable. The provision of two bathrooms was appreciated. Unfortunately our initial high opinion of the apartment was spoilt by:- 1. Not very clean in all rooms - particularly poorly dusted skirting and floors and grubby fittings in both bathrooms. Additionally, whilst nothing to do with the owner, the corridors and staircases would have benefitted from a deep clean. 2. Poor quality kitchen area utensils e.g. lightweight pots and pans etc. 3. Despite there being a large quantity of tourist information on display, the visitor information relating to the apartment was minimal - far less than we have seen in other properties we have rented in the past. However, we didn't let these issues spoil our stay and would recommend the property fairly highly for others.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you were happy with the location and enjoyed your stay overall. We changed cleaners a few months ago as we had some poor feedback and have had nothing but positive since so will pass your comments on. We will also review the property information. Thank you for your comments. Property Owner

The beds were particularly comfortable and we all slept really well. There were plenty of excellent eating places in Seahouses. We liked the fact that we had an allocated parking space and that the whole site felt. secure. We would have no problem in recommending the property.

  • "Pre- arrival information was comprehensive and clear."

Key collection/ return was simple. All four of us were very impressed with the apartment, the gated location and the very generous and secure under building parking. First attempt with the entry key fob was a team effort however once mastered it was fine. The rooms were well proportioned and furnished, kitchen well stocked, heating and hot water abundant and everything immaculately clean. We loved the two balconies and sea view. Exceeded expectations and would certainly return.

Thank you so much for the great feedback, we appreciate you taking the time. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and would love you to return. Thanks again. Property Owner

  • "A comfortable small flat, sufficient for two of us."

Insufficient teaspoons in the cutlery drawer but plenty of other utensils. We only used the hob and not the ovens as we ate out (apart from breakfast). The comfy seating would not be sufficient for 4 people and the sofa is not particularly comfortable. The sea view in the listing was not as expected as it is partial. There was a problem with the loo seat in the main bathroom which was loose and almost threw me to the floor the first time I used it. We raised the blind on the balcony door so we could go out to the balcony and the blind stuck and we could not get it up or down. The front door lock needs attention as it is difficult to lock on exit. We liked the location, the block, the secure parking. All in all, it was a good base for our holiday.

Thank you for your feedback – we are delighted to see that you enjoyed your stay and found Puffin View a good base for your time away. We will ensure that the toilet seat is tightened and teaspoons are added to the property. After various bits of feedback we have decided to change the blinds and they will be replaced in the coming weeks. We have had a difference of opinion on the sofa so we are just working through what we do. Thank you very much for your booking. Property Owner

  • "Balconies needing proper maintenance and a good pressure wash and sealing."

Handrail needs sanding and quality marine varnish applying. Poor maintenance on outside fittings. En-suite unusable due to dreadful smell. Toilet presented dirty. One toilet roll provided for two toilets. Had to clean bathrooms before use. Main bathroom badly maintained, grouting needs attention. Over complicated and actually inaccurate entry procedure to property. Lock on front door of flat very difficult to activate. Poor lighting in flat - all bulbs mismatched. Main living room dusty, poorly cleaned. Pillows lumpy. Upon changing bedclothes at end of stay duvets were stained. Cooker hob very difficult to use. Dishwasher presented with filter disassembled. I reassembled and added salt and rinse aid. Outside the property there is the kitchen if the Bamburgh Castle Hotel. The cooking smells - deep fat frying were disgusting and the noise from 5am to 12 midnight dreadful. The blinds in the rooms cut out little light, are poorly maintained and difficult to use. Additional blackout curtains would be a great idea as the hotel at the back throws out light and noise 24/7. All in all a 1/10 property and we expected much better given the high weekly cost to rent it.

Thank you for taking the time to write us some feedback. Since your review there are a few things that we have made changes to; firstly, we have changed our cleaner and we have since changed the pillows. The balcony does get cleaned regularly, however we agree that some varnishing is required and we have that in place to do on a dry changeover day. After mixed feedback on the blinds we are in the process of changing these. However, after reviewing the entry code and instructions, these appear to be correct. Upon inspection we haven’t found any issues with the grouting or stained duvets – however we have ensured they are swapped and cleaned. In regards to the hotel, we are really sorry about that and will engage with them to see if there is anything we can do to reduce noise and cooking smells in the summer months’. Property Owner

The blinds in the living room were faulty - so no privacy, this seems to be ongoing as it is mentioned in the guest book several times, we reported this to your office in Seahouses & we were advised that the owner is dealing with it,

I'm sorry you had issues with the blinds. The letting agent looks after the maintenance of the flat and hadn't let me know of any issue. We were informed over a month ago but had been told they were now repaired. We have someone coming out on Friday to quote for new blinds. Many thanks for your booking. Property Owner

  • "Puffin view was a delight to stay in."

Perfect location, extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. All facilities apart from slight maintenance problems with balcony were great. Beds so comfortable and bathrooms spacious altogether felt at home immediately. One and only criticism, the oven - which we did not use- could do with a thorough clean - this obviously was the fault of previous people staying there.. We look forward to returning when we are next in Seahouses, a definite return visit. The underground parking was great also!

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback we really appreciate it - it means so much to us. We have spoken to the agent about the oven and they are going to speak to the cleaner so thank you for letting us know. We hope to welcome you again. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "The property was not properly clean, there was dust and cobwebs all over the place, especially the main bedroom."

The drawers in the main bedroom were too dirty to use. The toilet brush needs throwing away. There was something blue all up one wall in the ensuite - how could a cleaner miss that? Not enough toilet rolls or dish washer tabs. Some cups were dirty. The main bed was just ok, however, the sofa in the living area was very uncomfortable. The living area felt cramped with the big table. The advert does not mention that you are directly behind Bamburgh Castle Inn with it's very noisy fan - you couldn't leave windows open. The "sea view" description is misleading as you would have to sit to one side of one balcony (you don't have a view from the other) and the balcony feels grubby and is at the back of the Inn. The listing states that there is a tumble drier - there isn't. It is, however, a very convenient location. The welcome pack was a nice touch, but I'd rather the money was spent elsewhere - especially as we didn't want the wine anyway. I think it's rather rich to expect guests to strip beds, put bedding and towels in bags, make sure all cups etc are washed, dishwasher empty and bins emptied when the place isn't clean in the first place. It's very cramped for more than 2 people and honestly is overpriced.

Thank you for your feedback. We are really sorry that you had some concerns over the quality of the cleaning. We do take this really seriously and have fed this back to the cleaner (via the letting agent) for improvements to be made. As it is a self-catering property we ask people to clean their own crockery etc and if it is placed in the dishwasher then this is emptied by the cleaner before the next guests arrive. Unfortunately the details of the tumble dryer had been removed from the list of equipment but had been missed in the description - this has now been amended, sorry for this error. Thank you. Nowhere to hang wet coats. Also 2 blinds broken that had been reported several times.

Thank you for your feedback. There are coat hooks inside the large cupboard as you walk in on the left and the door can be left open, sorry they're not obvious. There is a separate chair in the lounge for a fourth person to use rather than the settee. I'm sorry the blinds are broken again, I will contact the letting agent as they had someone out to repair them and we were informed they were repaired. Thank you for your booking. Property Owner

Towel rail in shower room didn’t work and blinds in lounge and main bedroom didn’t close we did report this, and to be fair they did say they would get it fixed, not a major problem but one that should have been picked up. Overall it was a lovely apartment

Thank you so much for your booking and feedback. We have spoken to the letting agents about the towel rail and a new one has been purchased as every time it was repaired it became faulty again. They have also had someone out to repair the blinds The agent is also going to do a spot check on the cleaning. Thank you once again for your booking. Property Owner
