  • "Quirky house full of character."

    Comfortable and warm.

  • "Ideal base for a stay in Seahouses."

The Bakehouse is ideally located for easy access to the centre of Seahouses. The house itself is large and provides everything you need for a self catering holiday. The layout of the house is slightly quirky but all the more attractive for it. There is a comfortable, lived-in feel to the building and it easily accommodates up to six people. The small outside spaces are also attractive. A great base for a break!

  • "We had a wonderful week at The Bakehose despite the weather being a bit changeable."

The property was very clean and comfortable and was very well equipped. We loved the location of the cottage and all Seahouses had to offer. We took a boat trip out to Inner Farne with Serenity on a beautiful sunny day which was fabulous, seeing so many different bird species nesting. A photographs Paradise! Julie is great host and the cottage is full of photos, paintings and interesting things to look at. We thoroughly recommend it!

  • "Fabulous quirky house, with all the facilities you could want."

Three large bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. Very comfy lounges ( we only used one , with the fire in it), but lots of comfy seating. Kitchen equipped with all manner of implements and quality plates, glasses etc. Jackie , the owner so helpful and welcoming. The only comments I would make is that there is no downstairs loo , so if you have elderly or infirm relatives its should be mentioned in the blurb. Two fairly steep staircases to access the bedrooms but with sturdy handrails.

The property

Resting in the heart of old Seahouses in Northumberland, The Bakehouse carefully blends character accommodation with tasteful soft furnishings and stylish décor to create an exceptional property, ideal for a family holiday or a get-together of friends.

The inviting sitting room is wonderfully warm and welcoming with comfy seating and an open fire, helping to make for a truly charming space where you can imagine curling up and enjoying spending time together.

The attractive rustic kitchen is fully fitted with all that is needed to whip up delicious food for the whole party and when it’s time to serve up, choose from an informal dining area in the kitchen or the more formal dining room which is set up ready for long, leisurely meals together.

A fantastic alternative space for chilling out is the snug where you will find loads of seating and a really relaxing vibe, perfect for socialising together or spending some much needed ‘me-time’.

Outside, there are delightful gardens ideal for soaking up any Northumberland sunshine and there is even a cool roof terrace with plenty of seating just waiting for you to sit back, relax and breathe in some rejuvenating sea air.

When it’s time for bed, choose from three super-king-sizes all with TVs so you don’t need to miss any telly, and all superbly presented.

These are rooms that wouldn’t look out of place in the chicest of boutique hotels.

Right in the centre of Seahouses, the property is in the ideal setting for exploring the delights of the region with the stunning beaches of the Northumberland Heritage Coast close by.

The delightful fishing village of Seahouses has its own harbour and is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The village of Bamburgh is well worth a visit too, famous for its imposing castle but which also has a good selection of shops and amenities.

Close by there are miles of sandy beaches to explore and boat trips run daily from Seahouses to Farne islands where you can look out for birds and seals.

Further afield there are magnificent castles to discover such as Dunstanburgh, Warkworth, Lindisfarne and Cragside, with towns such as the historic market town of Alnwick; Alnmouth known for its excellent golf course; and the farming hamlet of Howick which is known for being the birthplace of Earl Grey tea.

For a holiday to remember for a lifetime, The Bakehouse is the perfect destination.
