  • "Everything you need for a relaxed stay within a mile of seahouses, only 1 negative could do with a better aerial for tv."

Pot luck if tv would pick a signal up once it had been put on standby, hosts very nice and friendly, nice touch with the treats for dog and bottle of vino chilled in fridge

  • "The Nook is a lovely little bungalow, well equipped and with a small garden for sitting out or airing the dog!"

Owners on hand to deal quickly with any queries. Would definitely consider staying there again. Pam.

  • "This is a lovely little haven from which to explore Northumbria."

It has obviously been designed with great care. Loved the doggy welcome pack! Also a great idea to have a small enclosed area outside for a dog to play. Shower is great, bed very comfortable. Kitchen has everything you might need. Bottle of wine a lovely touch. However we spent 90 minutes trying to get the TV to work and then had to ring the owner who was in Majorca. They found a very kind neighbour who came round and after about 40 more minutes did manage to get the TV to work. The next day we also had problems but remembering what he had done we were able to get it on. It would be good to have correct very simple instructions plus the phone number of someone local who could help. Fire was also difficult to start and we couldn’t see how to do it. Fortunately the weather was glorious!

  • "Had a lovely stay at the Nook, it is a converted double garage on a house drive."

No problems with access or noise, very small garden but sunny and provided with table, chairs and deckchairs. Bedding and towels spotless, bed very comfy, bathroom with walk in shower great. An update on everyday cutlery and TV would be appreciated by guests.

  • "Hello, With reference to our holiday."

We arrived on Friday afternoon. There was no reception but instructions had been left in the “cottage.” After reading them we noticed that the TV and fan heater did not work and there was no contact number for assistance. The Nook is actually a converted garage composed of a kitchen- diner, bathroom and bedroom. The double bed in place was too big for the room, with very little space for passage around the sides against the walls. The local hotel which is advertised as open to non-residents for restaurant and bar is now only a B&B with no facilities for non-residents. After investigating further options we decided to leave and did so on Tuesday morning, to avoid the Bank Holiday traffic. The whole holiday has been a disaster, the accommodation and feeding facilities are of no use to an elderly couple such as ourselves and I will definitely not be using Sykes Holidays again.

Great location for getting out and about and a 15 minute walk into Seahouses. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. We will be back again.

  • "The Nook is extremely comfortable."

Super shower, comfortable bed, excellent kitchen facilities and a little sheltered garden with some deck chairs for those days when you need a rest. There was a welcome pack of basics and some wine. I needed peace and wuiettto get some work done but it is well positioned for exploring the coast and sights- Bamborough and Holy Island. Cannot recommend highly enough

  • "A lovely property, a great idea converting the garage to a holiday let."

We arrived late, but hosts were there to greet us and answer any questions. The bottle of wine was greatly appreciated, as were the other little extras. The bed was so comfy and we slept well. The cottage is very well equipped and although we didn’t use it, we really liked the small garden, perfect to sit out in the evening.

  • "Excellent accommodation brilliantly equipped."

Everything you could possibly need. A lovely touch on arrival were the bikkies and bottle of wine. Small yet great use of all the space. Room for everything. Absolutely perfect for a couple. Just outside Seahouses about a 20minute walk to the centre if the wind is not blowing a hooley! Thoroughly recommend.

  • "First visit to Northumberland, and The Nook was just perfect for me."

I did lots of exploring, walking, visiting sites etc. To know I had the Nook to come back to, to cook up a simple meal, relax in the very pretty garden, and eventually fall asleep in a comfy bed. Loved every minute

  • "A little bit surprised to find that it was a converted double garage in the owners drive and very close to their house."

Having said that it was tastefully converted, very clean with everything you needed. Plus a nice little garden which was a real sun trap. Note. The underside of the tv gets very hot when the wall heater is on full.
