"We have stayed at Curlew Cottage before, the fact that we've returned demonstrates how much we like it."
It's comfortable, warm and well equipped. The location near to the coastal path is ideal for accessing the harbour, and the facilities of Seahouses. It is a few minutes to the shops and other facilities, near to the coast road, but not so traffic noise can be heard. There are extra throws and blankets (we didn't need them). We enjoyed Sky tv for those evenings when we didn't go out. We hope to return!!

"Really loved this holiday one really bad day we were stuck in doors."
It’s a lovely cottage. We have stayed there before and would not hesitate to book again. Could do with a television upstairs when the weather is bad.
-
"Lovely cottage in an ideal location but let down by the following issue: oil-fired boiler situated in kitchen gives off strong unpleasant fumes which permeate throughout the cottage."
Contacted the owner about these, she arranged for a plumber to check this (we were not in the cottage at the time). Apparently if there are fumes they are not dangerous to health and comply with safety regulations. Unfortunately this did not stop the fumes from happening and we note from previous reviews for this property others have mentioned the issue but obviously nothing has been done to solve the issue. Please can others be made aware of this issue prior to booking as the smell left us feeling nauseous and headachy and was a blight to an otherwise lovely holiday.
The boiler is being replaced week commencing 21 October . Property Owner

"Really enjoyed our stay at curlew cottage We've been to seahouses several times and found your cottage perfect for us."
We would definitely book again thank you for our lovely stay.

"There is a problem with the boiler, the fumes were really bad."
My dog's refused to eat inside because they smelt the fumes and felt sick The cottage was clean, well equipped and in a lovely area
-
"The property itself has a superb location & so clean & tidy inside with all utensils you need in the kitchen."
The information sheets & little notes around were a handy touch....Just a couple of suggestions for cosiness, curtains for bedroom's, particularly small, as lights from neighbouring site peep through sides of blind. Also couple of cushions for chairs upstairs and 2 need replacing in lounge area....The back garden was smaller than we thought & not a pinch of grass for doggy. The saving grace for the dog situation, was the superb fields that were so close. The boiler definitely needs some attention as the fumes ,when ever entering this beautiful little haven was quite pungent, and the noise from the boiler when firing up. We have the same system, so I particularly noticed the difference. Otherwise my top list of places to stay.

Perfect as a base to explore.further afield. Wish we’d found this property earlier in our Northumberland holidays. Have booked again for 2025 which is something we never do normally but this cottage is too good not to return to.

"This cosy cottage is situated on the outskirts of Seahouses but close enough to walk to the local shops, pubs & beaches if you so wish."
The area has lots of places ideal for walking your dog which was fantastic for us. We found the cottage was very tidy, clean & comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was super comfy with a lovely en-suite shower room which was perfect. A big plus for us was the private parking right outside the property. A perfect holiday home from home, would highly recommend.

"The location of this property is stunning & great if you have a dog with a huge field a few steps away leading to the cliff walk."
Less than a 10 minute walk into Seahouses so no need to use the car much. The property itself was compact but had everything we needed & the ensuite shower was fantastic. Very clean, many thanks.

"This is a lovely property, well situated for visiting a lot of Northumberland attractions."
It had plenty of kitchen equipment and crockery, and the rooms were beautifully decorated. Do remember to take hand towels (as well as main towels), hand soap and washing up liquid to avoid an early trip to the local supermarket! We would definitely recommend this property and had a lovely holiday in Seahouses.
