  • "Really nice property, clean and well maintained."

The welcome pack was a nice touch, it’s ideally situated for Seahouses, Beadnell, Bamburgh and Holy Island. You won’t be disappointed by the property unless you’re really fussy. I would definitely book this property again.

Thank you for your feedback, so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay at Sandy Shores . We looking forward to hosting you aagain Property Owner

  • "Lovely well appointed property."

Spent most of our time in the conservatory, lovely room. Largest room in the house complete with Tv. can't be bad. Would definitely stay there again. Walkable distance from the High St and harbour either along the main road or coastal part to the Harbour.

  • "Had a very nice 3-night stay at this property."

Great location 10 mins walk from centre of Seahouses and also a great base to explore Northumberland. House was clean when we arrived. It had dual-zone Hive heating (lounge and conservatory under-floor heating) which worked really well and a decent mesh Wifi network. Conservatory was the best room in the house especially with underfloor heating. Was more comfortable in there than the lounge. Kitchen diner well equipped with dishwasher etc. Owners provided nice welcome drinks etc and the house had everything you need including dishwasher tablets etc. Beds we used were very comfortable. Back garden nice but didn't use due to the rain. I think the owners have taken on some of the feedback as the house felt recently renovated with new bedding and carpets. Absolutely no issues with the front door for example as previously mentioned. Bathroom very clean with a nice bath and shower. Washer/dryer in utility room. Would not hesitate to stay here the next time we come back to Northumberland.

  • "We did not hesitate in booking Sandy Shores again as this is our second visit, our last visit was pre covid."

We found the house offered great value for the money more so for a family there's plenty of room, due to its location and ease of walking either to the town centre or long walks along some of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast. If you've forgotten something don't worry because the owners have it covered. The house is light, clean, warm and spacious with a large kitchen dinner with all you need, there's also a large conservatory where you can lie back and relax and in the summer a large back garden to catch the sunshine ☀ also plenty free parking at the front of the house. Overall we had a fantastic week at Sandy shores we would highly recommend it as the place to spend a relaxing holiday. 5

  • "Called in to Northumbria Coast & Country Cottages Ltd on Tuesday 5th and Thursday 7th September and telephoned Sykes Holiday Cottages on Monday 11th September."

Review discussed and submitted by email. I received a reply from Sykes thanking me and stating that all points raised will be actioned accordingly. Booked from Saturday 02/09/2023 – Saturday 09/09/2023 but left early on the Thursday. Great location and is ideally situated for exploring Seahouses, Beadnell and Bamburgh, easy parking, potentially a very good house! 1. Problem with front door. Doesn’t open and close smoothly. Need to push it hard to make it close. 2. Overall cleanliness is poor. For example, drawer and cupboard handles in kitchen were sticky. 3. Drawers and cupboards are full of unnecessary cutlery and crockery. There is a spice rack in the kitchen that because it was covered in dust was not used. There were also two packets of food in one of the cupboards. The drawers and cupboards in the utility room were also full. There were instruction manuals for equipment that was no longer present, remote control for a tv that is not in the house, tennis balls etc. The meat grill and the sandwich maker could be placed on the work top in the utility room or in a cupboard that has been cleared of the many glasses. The instruction books should be placed with them. 4. Kettle would boil once but then would only heat to coffee settings. 5. Sofa and chairs in living room were not clean and very uncomfortable. 6. Chair in corner of conservatory is damaged. The canvas under the cushion was ripped along two sides. Someone sitting down on this chair could hurt themselves. 7. There was a nice selection of DVD’s but I could not find a DVD Player. 8. Bed in main bedroom is in the wrong position based on the two electric sockets on the opposite wall. The headboard also hits the wall when getting into bed. Maybe the neighbour complained, the bed was moved, and an extension lead added for the beside lamps. 9. The hooks for the tie-backs for the curtains in the main and back bedrooms were very loose and almost falling out. Needs new Rawlplugs to fix these. 10. The garage door was impossible to open. This is problem if guests wanted to store bicycles or other items. I see the review posted by Ashley, March 2023, and had hoped that improvements would have been made. Sandy Shores is advertised as being suitable for 6 guests. It would be good if there were only 6 sets of cutlery and crockery. Welcome pack was very good but why not include 4 of the excellent Northumbria Breweries beers and lagers rather than Stella Artois from Belgium!

  • "We have had many holidays over many years with NCCC/Sykes and this has been our only disappointing one ."

We didn't enjoy our stay in Sandy Shores and decided to leave 3 days early to go home . The main 2 areas of criticism were firstly that the beds and the suite were old and very uncomfortable , and secondly that this small house was cluttered with too much stuff ; for example too much kitchen equipment leaving little bench or drawer space , kitchen table too big , cupboard under the stairs and the wardrobe in 3rd bedroom both full ,
