The en-suite bathroom shower had dust all around the bottom. Not a major issue for us but could be for other people. Kim was great and the lodge was very well Equipped with everything we needed.. one addition to help cook my breakfast would have been a non stick frying pan.

The view was fabulous, it was great to see the deer roaming around. The owner Kim makes sure you have everything for your holiday, the lodge has a ‘home from home’ feeling to it, it’s fully equipped and the welcome basket is a nice touch. She has thought of everything. Thanks Kim. The park was quiet when we went, once inside the lodge we didn’t see anybody. It was a lovely relaxing break away. We had Sunday lunch at the Amble Inn. It was the best Sunday lunch we’d had in ages. I would recommend trying.

The property is perfectly located within Percy Woods with a super view over the golf course to the coast beyond. The owner, Kim is very welcoming and prepares her property to a very high standard. Everything needed for your stay is thoughtfully provided. A super ‘welcome’ package greets you on arrival; a very caring addition and much appreciated. The lodge is very comfortable, in good repair and easy to manage. It is good to come home to after a day’s activity. Those activities range from historic castles, museums, coastal walks and boat excursions to offshore islands. This is such a wonderful location right in the middle of interests to suit everyone. In summary, highly recommended for location, value for money, comfort and good overall experience.

It charmed us from the start with its quality furnishings and layout especially the spacious main room with lots of light ad an open view over the countryside. The park in which the lodge is situated is very peaceful. The owner had given us plenty of help and advice prior to our stay so we were geared up to enjoy ourselves. It is an excellent area for cycle rides and walks (we did both) and, of course, has a huge amount of history surrounding the area. We unreservedly recommend this accommodation without hesitation. We really must recommend Nelsons cafe. The staff was very caring and the food - well what can I say - absolutely mouthwateringly good, a must to visit.

We have had to rearrange due to me having a full hysterectomy, then my father was dying of lung cancer whilst living alone in Cyprus which maenat we had to rearrange yet again. We were due to stay this month but sadly my husband collapsed with a brain haemorrhage in February 2023. He has subsequently been diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumour. He contacted the owner and yourselves to explain. However, this has been totally ignored to the extent that the owner of this property was rude and in her email intimating that this was a tall story. I can assure you it is not. My husband is now receiving palliative care and has a only a few weeks to live. So I am astonished and disgusted that you and the owner have decided that this is not enough to cancel our booking and refund the money. It is a disgrace. If you would like me to provide details of my hospital stay, my Fathers death certificate and my husbands scans and diagnosis of terminal brain cancer then I will.

Swarland is perfectly placed for exploring Bamburgh in the north to Morpeth in the south. Seahouses was only thirty minutes away and this was a perfect departure point for the Farne Islands and their fabulous seabird communities. Northumberland has so much to offer visitors. Alnwick castle and gardens are a must. There are so many excellent places to eat, country pubs to enjoy and towns to explore. The coastal towns offer fresh seafood for the connoisseur and magnificent beaches to enjoy. A really fabulous holiday experience in the UK.

  • "My wife and I were after a relaxing week away and this proved to be the perfect setting."

Althoigh on a holiday park, with some of the blinds down you could easily have believed you were in cabin on its own in the countryside. The view out on the golf course and the fields and trees beyond was fantastically picturesque and had the weather been nicer would have been perfect for an early evening drink on the veranda. The property was very clean and we'll supplied with facilities to help you cater for yourself and make the property truly feel like a home from home. The only recommendation I would make for more tech savy couples is to look at your data allowance options. There is an option to top up some Wi-Fi in the property but at £10 for 1 gig it doesn't stretch far. My phone company allowed me to double my monthly allowance to 20 gig for an extra £5 which proved a useful for Netflix when freeview didn't have any exciting options late at night. Situation wise you are within 15 minutes of two reasonable sized towns (Alnwick and Morpeth) for supplies or visits to local attractions and no more than 30 minutes from at least 10 coastal towns and villages which offer something for everyone (lovely walks, great food, clean beaches, historical sites etc).

The delightful village of Swarland is set in rural Northumberland, between Morpeth to the south and Alnwick to the north. The village has Nelsons, situated in the sports hall, which is open seven days a week, serving excellent coffee and meals, a children’s play area and tennis courts. It is just 8 miles from Alnwick, with its castle and garden, which features Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat. There is plenty to see and do near to Swarland, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby.
