  • "Absolutely beautiful little flat."

Really comfortable beds and choice of outside space. Couldn't be better situated for all amenities. I'm looking forward to my next visit I had such an enjoyable relaxing weekend. I've found my happy place in Amble, loved it. Thank you.

Hi Celia Thank you for taking the time to leave a review you are welcome back anytime. kind regards Paul & Clare Property Owner

  • "Fab location in the heart of everything with great outside space - nice little welcome basket with biscuit's and crisps."

However the boiler on 3 occasions didn’t produce hot water and it hasn’t been serviced this year according to records on the boiler which is not good - the curtains In the main bedroom didn’t stop any light, the exit sign in the main bedroom was like Blackpool eliminations difficult to sleep -bed very soft and uncomfortable as we both rolled in to the middle. It a shame as it’s a great little place but a little tweet here and there needed.

Hi thank you for taking time in leaving feedback. i do wish you had contact us during stay about boiler and we would if had heating engineer attend. The boiler was serviced and tested in March as is this a stipulation with Sykes and our insurance company test does not need displayed on boiler, sytem is old and is due to be replaced during a shutdown period, the emergency light in main bedroom is law for holiday lets so nothing can be done about that . We have had no other feedback on curtains (which are lined) or comfort of the bed so will monitor over coming months feedback kind regards Paul Property Owner

  • "We had booked a different property, but it was withdrawn from the holiday availability."

There was little option on properties in the area we wanted, but Sykes’s managed to find the Lobster Pot for us. Lovely and cosy. Perfect for the three of us. Great location. Only problem was the water boiler which sometimes didn’t work, but the owner was in the process of having it replaced.

Thanks for staying with us Kind regards Paul & Clare Property Owner

  • "Holiday property was well situated for the harbour."

Close to a number of good eateries. The hosts could not have done more to help and this was very much appreciated. It was a lovely stay. I do have issue with Sykes, I tried contacting them on numerous occasions before going, called on the phone was put on hold several times requested a call back twice and gave up both times after being called then put on hold. As with a number of other clients discovered my booking was not linked with the app. Fortunately I found the owners own web site with my query being addressed promptly. I would not use Sykes again.

Thanks for leaving feedback hope to see you again soon Property Owner

  • "Paul and Clare are wonderful hosts, we found that most of the things that we were advised to bring with us, such as tea towels were supplied."

Our dog Paddy loved the location, close to good walks. Everything was clean and well maintained, as someone else mentioned, the only thing I struggled with was the height of the bed, I found getting up, especially when it was my turn to do the early morning dog walk, and trying not to wake my wife difficult. This was due to my slight mobility problems. All the local amenities, including supermarket and chippies were close and good, plus good restaurants. Lastly reasonably close to all the main NE attractions such as Bamburgh Castle and Hadrians Wall. Would recommend to our friends as it was recommended to us!!

Hi Paul Thanks for choosing to stay with us hopefully see you again in the future Kind Regards Paul & Clare Property Owner

  • "The owners are fabulous people."

Always around to help with things and going the extra mile. The property is small but has everything needed for a s/c break. It’s in a great place next to harbour with access to loads of places to eat and drink or just enjoy watching the activities. Fishing boats coming in with a fresh catch to buy was a bonus too. The town of Amble has all you need and the people are friendly. Weather was great and spent lots of time outdoors in gorgeous surroundings around the area. We did struggle a bit with the very low bed in one of the rooms, being older people but otherwise a great place for a short stay and lots to see.

Hi Janet thanks for taking the time to leavs a review and it was lovely to meet you alland your welcome back anytime. I will look in to heightening the bed its a valid point. kind regards Paul & Clare Property Owner

  • "The central heating was not working."

However Paul did provide two electric oil heaters. There were no cupboards or chest of drawers in the smaller double bedroom. I.e. no storage for clothes etc.

Hi Rowena Thanks for taking time to leave a review as mentioned the heating was running lower although the hot water was fine I did offer alternative accomodation. There is a clothes rail in the smaller room and we will look to review storage following your feeback although space is limited. The much larger room has lots more storage. About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
