  • "Fabulous home from home."

Rosedale is in the perfect location, minutes to the beach and a short stroll into town. The house itself has everything you could need and the welcome goodies were a lovely touch. Can’t wait to stay here again.

  • "The neighbours are very abrupt about visitors parking near the property."

The house is lovely...we didn't need the wine or biscuits if we can have hand soap in the kitchen and bathroom along with maybe a couple of loo rolls until we find the shops. Lovely size, perfect for our needs and lovely and quiet.

Great location too. Issues identified in some earlier reviews have been addressed, and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

  • "What a beautiful house in a stunning location!"

We've had a perfect week and didn't want to leave. When we arrived the house was absolutely spotlessly clean and the kitchen was really well equipped with everything you could need. The appliances were really good quality. The only small downside we found was the there were no mirrors in the bedrooms on the 3rd floor, not a big issue we coped. Also some of the windows were tricky to close. Overall a fantastic property in a beautiful location. We had a fab week loved the Harbour and beaches for our kids and dog, will definitely stay again.

Didn’t use all the bedrooms but house still felt cosy and comfortable. 5 mins walk to beach, no problem with car parking during our week. Happy to return here for break.

  • "We have stayed in quite a few holiday let's in amble over the last few years and they have all been lovely unfortunately this wasn't."

The house could do with a good clean as it was quite grubby in places. There was no cleaning supplies in the property at all not even a bin liner. This is the first time we have had to go out and buy them. The top floor bedroom has no mirror so it's impossible to dry your hair. The chest of drawers is falling to bits. The house sleeps 6 and there is only 2 outside chairs to sit on. The worst thing about the property is the unbearable smell of dogs throughout the whole of the ground floor. Overall it was a very disappointing stay.

  • "The cottage was lovely and very well set up, with everything we needed."

A wonderful location, close to the sea and very quiet. I could have done with more information on recycling and rubbish collection, and ended up having to look up the local council guidance. Also, the shower in the main bathroom did not drain properly but the local contact, Katie, came quickly to try to sort it out. I'm not sure if it was fixed as we had baths after that. I do think the owners are being a bit extravagant setting the central heating to 21 degrees, whatever the weather. We had to keep turning it down!

Hi, and thanks for your feedback, very helpful. I'll leave a recycling information sheet in the house for future guests, it is true that Northumberland CC are rather particular about what can be recycled! The shower drains properly again now, it seems the drain cover was broken. The heating is a smart learning thermostat, and adjusts to what various guests set the temperature to. However, it seems people have such a wide variety of preferences it can't handle it very well and often messes up the base schedules. I reset it every now and then so it shouldn't be too hot or cold. • "We enjoyed our stay at rosedale."

The cottage has all you need for your stay. It was clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable so we slept well. It is in an ideal position for Amble fish Quay and beaches, and the surrounding area. There are a lot of steps if you are staying on the top floor,(which is mentioned in the description) also there were no decent mirrors on the top floor, even in the bathroom. The radiator in the 1st floor bathroom does not work, and had been mentioned in a previous review.. The access road is very uneven and potholey and needs addressing (I had a new car and it was annoying having to manoeuvre around the holes) . The issues I have mentioned spoiled what could have been a excellent stay.

  • "The owners were very helpful."

Lovely people. The house is great. Everything we needed was there. Only issues we found were that the bathroom radiator did not work properly and the floor in there whilst lovely is chilly on the feet. The shower in main bathroom also did not drain very well. We could not see any reason for this. The road outside is heavily potholed so take are driving in. It is in a great location very close to beach. Its also very quiet. We had a lovely Christmas and thank the owners who allowed us in an hour early. Its a lovely place with everything you need. Fantastic for families as very large! On edge of village. Morrisons not far away and Coop in village. Short drive to Alnwick. Warkworth Castle well worth the vist.

  • "Had an absolutely lovely long weekend with friends at Rosedale House."

The property was perfect for the needs of our group and felt like a proper 'home from home' - a warm and welcoming space where we could all relax together in the evening after days out exploring the coast. The location is perfect - just a short stroll across the green, down to the sea or 5 minutes walk into the town centre. The rooms and communal spaces are comfortable and the kitchen is very well-stocked with utensils and crockery - plenty of space for cooking dinner for five. We would definitely rent this property again. The only reason we haven't given it 5 stars is because the lighting in the kitchen is a little bit too dim and that made it difficult to see when cooking. Unfortunately the light in the over-hob extractor also wasn't working. I'm sure this is less of a problem in the summer when there's plenty of natural light but in winter we were mainly cooking after dark, so a bit of extra wattage would have been very useful! I've said 'no' to publishing the feedback, mainly because I didn't want our complaint about the kitchen lighting to be published. It was a minor issue in what was otherwise a really great stay.

Hi Angela, I'm Andy, the owner of Rosedale House. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, and thanks for your feedback. We recently changed the lights in the kitchen, but its obviously not working too well. Not sure if just bulbs or a limitation on the fittings, but I'll get this looked at and changed in the next few weeks. Thanks and regards Andy Property Owner

  • "We love Rosedale House and this was our third stay."

However on the previous two occasions under the original management company the property has been spotless on our arrival and this time it was not. We do not believe many of the horizontal surfaces had seen a duster in weeks. There was only one "soiled" tea towel (we had taken our own) and an oven glove had dried on food. The frying pan should be replaced as it was dirty and we were unable to clean it satisfactorily There were only 5 dinner plates for 6 people! We took our own but there were no dishwasher tablets, just an empty box, and a couple of washing machine tablets would also have been welcome as would a better scourer and sponge. Scissors would be a useful addition to the utensils too and we could not find a broom. The top bathroom toilet seat requires attention.

Hi, I'm the owner of Rosedale House, and I'd like to thank you for raising these issues. I'll pass your comments on to the cleaner and we'll work together to make sure it's cleaned to its previous standards again. All the other items you mention are being sorted right now and will be resolved by the end of the week for the next guests Property Owner

Overall the property was great with lots of space for our group of 3 adults and 2 kids. Parking was easy outside. My only feedback is the interior could do with a little tlc. Simple changes like comfier cushions in the lounge and a better stocked kitchen would make a difference (glasses / spatula / more plates and bowls) overall fab cottage and would love to come back

Hi and thanks for your comments. I'll certainly take on board as we look to a winter refresh of the house. Some of the kitchen equipment does get broken or lost over time, so I'll review what we have at the moment and restock as appropriate in the near future. Property Owner

). A Parking disc thing with instructions would have been helpful - only £1 but we didn’t know about them or how to buy one and got quite frustrated trying to park in various places (moroeth & alnwick) not knowing what a “disc” was. Figured it out in the end, found a machine and bought one. we also left it behind for the next guests to use.

There was plenty of space in the house for 5 adults, a toddler and a dog and great to be so near the sea and lovely town of Amble. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well kitted out and it was a really quiet and relaxing place to stay. Hi Richard, As the owner of Rosedale House, I'd just like to thank you for your feedback. Normally, our guests are very satisfied with the condition of the house, so maybe something was amiss here.
