"We thoroughly enjoyed out stay."
The property was ideally located for the beach, shops/cafes, metro and anything else you may need. Kris was very quick to respond to my queries. The property itself was so quirky and fun. We all enjoyed exploring, and it was a great place to set up our little easter egg hunt for the boys (9 and 11). There were a few games that we enjoyed playing and some fun fit to play with on the beach too (I now need to buy one of those Nerf things!). We had a wonderful time, regardless of our British weather!

"Great property, had a lovely stay ."
.. but be aware of the 'good housekeeping bond' - we had an unjustifiable amount charged and approved by Sykes with no consultation or avenue to appeal.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and we’re very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the property.
The Good Housekeeping Bond is a standard and clearly advertised part of bookings and is only used where additional cleaning or replacement of items is required beyond a normal changeover.
In this instance, the costs were reviewed and applied by Sykes Cottages in line with their booking conditions following the stay.
Our aim is always to maintain high standards and ensure the property remains suitable for all guests. Thank you again for staying with us.

"We really enjoyed our stay at Pat's palace."
To say the property is quirky is an understatement and we loved it. Everywhere you look there is something interesting to see. Even on our last day we were still spotting things we hadn't seen before. There is everything you could need in the flat, it is very near the centre of town, the metro station is only yards from the front door and there's a nice Italian restaurant across the street. It's a winner!

"Loved Pats Palace such an interesting place to stay."
A lot of effort put in to making it both interesting and cosy. The metro was just down the road so very easy to get into Newcastle and St James's Park for the football. Although it was winter we did a lot of waks on the sea front and found a lot of national trust and English heritage places open. Will definitely recommend to friends. Val & co.

"Location superb."
Great flat, very comfortable.
Small niggles: Main sitting area needs more light to enable reading and dining chairs wont fit under the table.
Would certainly come again. We have family in the area and it was ideal.

"Quirky and cool - you notice something new every day at Pat's Palace!"
It was like staying in an art installation but with all the comforts of home. Well located for Whitley Bay shopping and restaurants. Right next to the metro and just a short walk to the beach. The hosts communication was excellent. Easy on street parking. The kids were happy there was Netflix. We didn't want to leave! Thanks for a fantastic holiday x

Everything you need for a base.
Lots of shops and places of choice to eat from the door.
5 minutes from the metro. It was very handy for travelling into Newcastle City and surrounding areas. Kris was quickly responsive when I needed to ask a question.
Would certainly stay here again.

"It was a great stay very comfortable for us!"
I loved the location and the design was so cool. I always found myself finding something new each day to look at, and so did the kids. We thoroughly enjoyed it and we will be back!
The only additional thing I would say is make cleaning products, small vacuum or dust pan & brush available and bin liners. We stayed with kids and they leave crumbs and for a week of not sweeping of vacuuming it can build up especially around the breakfast table
Thanks so much for the feedback Sabah, it’s very much appreciated. Apologies about the lack of a hoover, the battery had given up so I had taken it away to replace it.

"This was one of the most interesting places we’ve ever stayed, the interior was unique, eclectic, and fun."
From the moment you open the front door you are in for a treat with all the objects on the walls and the skate boards for a table. Walk up to first floor and the wall is full of pictures and paintings. Even the smallest room in the house (the loo) is a work of art, loved the door. So much interesting lighting in the lounge from the taxi sign to the tailors dummy. On a practical note comfortable bed, hot water on demand, good parking, loved it this was truly something special.

"Absolutely loved this place."
Central for exploring Whitley Bay. Perfect for Metro, to visit Tyneside. You can park your car and forget about driving, unless you want to go to Beamish or shopping in the Metro Center. Accommodation quirky but beautiful, you never stop looking and finding something different to look at, I would definitely recommend booking Pat’s Place. Five ***** from us

"My sister and I were in the UK over the Christmas holidays visiting family - we stayed in Pat's Palace from December 22-29 2024."
From the perfectly situated location to the comfortable beds to the eclectic decor, we both absolutely loved it and would have no hesitation in recommending PP to others. Kris, our host, was especially thoughtful and responsive to any questions we may have had. A wonderful place to stay on the northeast coast!

"This is a fantastic ,quirky property in the heart of Whitley Bay."
Parking was always easy to find and the permit means you can park for free. It is very close to the metro and we used it frequently to go all over the region. There are some fantastic places to eat and drink both in Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. Newcastle is only 30 minutes away. There are some fantastic beaches close by and some great coastal walks. The National Trust properties nearby are well worth a visit. We loved Cragside and you could spend the whole day there.

"Spacious apartment with quirky decor in a great location."
we enjoyed our stay. Located close to the Metro station and a short walk to the beach with several good restaurants and bars nearby: ideal to explore Whitley Bay, Newcastle and parts of Northumberland. Parking is on the street outside: a parking permit is supplied and we did not have any issues finding a slot all week.
The kitchen is well equipped and the apartment has a toilet on both floors which is useful as it does have two sets of stairs. The master bedroom is a little challenging if you are tall as you need to duck to avoid banging your head.

"Pat's palace was a lovely place to stay."
It's quirky decor made this place look like fun. Careful thought has been given to the decor. My kids loved the led's and the record player too.
The restaurants locally were lovely. They cooked pizza for takeaway at pranzo. We got given extra fish at Laura's and the curry from Whitby Tandoori was delicious. The Turkish restaurant on the sea front was great too.
Thank you Kris for providing such lovely accommodation.
