96 Customer Reviews

  • "Very clean and tidy, well stocked and a lovely bottle of wine as a welcome."

Totally dog friendly with a secure garden with a variety of wildlife to watch. Location was excellent, five minutes walk to the lake rudyard and a fantastic pub also situated there. Recommend the Sunday carvery. Had a lovely stay at kipling lodge and a bonus was the hot tub, which was perfect after a day's walking.

Perfect for friends or couples, Kipling Lodge is filled with charm both inside and out, even featuring its very own sheltered hot tub, where you can relax all-year-round.

Upon entering the property, kick off your shoes to take full advantage of the warmth from the underfloor heated wood-effect flooring throughout.

The hallway leads to a fabulous open-plan living set up, consisting of a country cottage kitchen with oak units and marble effect counter tops.

There is a dining table that seats up to six people, ideal for a home-cooked meal together, adjacent to a lounge with two comfortable sofas and a TV.

Large French windows lie ahead of the room, well-situated for an outlook over the peaceful enclosed garden, here you can enjoy the location from the comfort of the cottage.

The three bedrooms boast a characterful finish, each complete with ample storage.

The master room features a contemporary en-suite, whilst the bunk room is suited for children or adults, and another shower room is available for guests.

Outside, why not make the most of the private garden and shared communal space?

Decked areas are located to the front, rear and side, with a selection of furniture included, ideal for a sunny afternoon.

About the location

RUDYARD

Leek 3 miles; Asbourne 17 miles; Bakewell 24 miles.

The village of Rudyard enjoys a delightful countryside location. A certain Lockwood Kipling and his fiancée Alice Macdonald met on the shores of the lake and named their first-born son after the place. Rudyard Kipling (1865 – 1936), poet, novelist and short story writer has made this Staffordshire village world famous. The lake, a beauty spot and one of the most romantic places in Britain, is a family centre for picnics, boating, walking and fishing as well as the steam railway. Nearby Leek is a thriving town with good pubs and restaurants and many antique shops. Nearby the beautiful Manifold Valley cuts a course through superb scenery and is a delight for both walkers and cyclists with the "Manifold Trail".
